Our eyes rolled so hard the first time we saw the trailer for this film that we think we may have given ourselves slight aneurysms. We didn’t love Maleficent because it was an “everything you know is wrong” tale which turned an existing character into a superhero, basically. Even so, given the dearth of female heroes in big budget fantasy films, let alone female heroes with some depth to them, we realized that the movie was probably needed and could tell that women were responding really well to it. But come on, it’s not like Dracula needed to be explained to us all or that white guys don’t have enough tortured anti-heroes to choose from.
Even so, we’re grateful, because Mr. Luke is bringing his delicious A game to this poledance.
Gorgeous. Our only quibble is the pocket square is kinda clashy. We’re just so happy to see him groomed after suffering through all that pimp hair he was sporting.
Her, we don’t know. All we know is she’s basic and she’s blocking our view.
