Stripes! What a cheeky, high-fivin’ duchess! Isn’t it in like the Magna Carta or something that the royal family can only wear solids, tartan plaids, and the occasional floral?
The brooch is very pretty and we have no doubt that it’s historically or locally important in some way, but from a pure style perspective, it instantly makes that kicky, modern coat look a little grandma. Proof: someone gave her a stuffed corgi, obviously mistaking her for the Queen. Maybe that’s why Cathy insists on flashing her butt so much; so that people will stop mistaking her for her 87-year-old grandmother-in-law.
It’s a theory.
