Top 15 WORST 2012 Red Carpet Looks: 15 to 11

Posted on December 26, 2012

That’s right, darlings! Now comes the end of another year and with it, a new opportunity to be judgmental about some old dresses. Let’s run down T Lo’s picks, shall we? Our only criteria for inclusion on the list was that it had to be a look we already featured on the site in the last year. We figure a lot of these choices are going to be met with arguments, but we’re just the little bitches to say “Bring it.” Besides, we judged a lot of these looks not so much for the conventional prettiness or lack thereof, but for how well it fit the venue, the person wearing it, and the statement they were trying to make. It’s power dressing, celebrity style, kittens. And as you’ll see, it’s very, very difficult to get right.

But don’t worry; we have a Top 15 BEST list in the offing for those who did.

Hit it, ladies!

15. Jennifer Lopez in Lanvin

Jennifer Lopez attends Summer Tour Press Conference in California in a Lanvin dress paired with Giuseppe Zanotti pumps.

We trust these pictures will suffice as an explanation.

14. Scarlet Johansson in Rodarte

Scarlett Johansson attends the premiere of ‘Hitchcock’ in New York City in a Rodarte dress paired with Gucci shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

The open-mouthed, heavy-lidded, “I had to smoke 3 blunts in a row just to wear this in public” expression really sells the look here, yes?

13. Kristen Stewart in Erdem

Kristen Stewart attends the premiere of ‘On The Road’ in New York in Erdem.

Shiny, see-through, and ill-fitting, topped off by Walk of Shame shoes.

12. Christina Aguilera in Pamella Roland

Christina Aguilera attends the 40th Annual American Music Awards in Los Angeles in a Pamella Roland dress and Jimmy Choo shoes paired with Neil Lane jewelry and a Judith Leiber clutch.

She just looks so pleased with herself, doesn’t she? Bless. Apparently no one told her she’s orange and wearing clothes Miss Piggy threw out in 1989.

11. Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

Jennifer Lawrence attends the ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ New York Premiere in Christian Dior.

It takes skill to make a Dior pantsuit look cheap, just as it takes skill to make a gorgeous young 20-something look frumpy and middle-aged.
