Katy Perry in Paris

Posted on March 05, 2012

Katy’s been making the post-divorce rounds during Paris Fashion Week, offering up an array of highly photogenic outfits designed to keep her in the public eye.

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Katy Perry arrives at the Viktor & Rolf Fall 2012 show.

On the one hand, we can’t help thinking “We can’t wait until her Blue Period is over.” Smurfette really did a number on her, didn’t she? But we can’t really complain when she looks like this. Yes, she looks like Strawberry Shortcake’s friend Blueberry Scone, but who else could make this work as well as she does? She’s a walking cartoon character and she knows it.

We adore the purse and the coat. Kinda wish she hadn’t worn the dress with it, duplicating the runway look.

Ah, yes. The “I’m single, in case you forgot for a moment” dress. This is not a dress for the faint-of-heart gal and when you go for it, you best GO FOR IT.

She went for it.

Digging the Marilyn-esque hair she’s working here. We appreciate the shoes, which are sexy, but relatively simple so they don’t fight with the dress. Same goes for the bag. That’s smart accessorizing. But we don’t know what to make of that ring in light of the big pill purse she just sported.

Well, we’ll say this: that bag was an inspired choice, from a color perspective. It offers the perfect counterpoint to the cool greens and blues of the rest of the look. Nice to see she re-used the shoes. They worked better with the Balmain but they’re fine here.

We don’t actually mind visible granny panties on someone like Katy Perry, but this doesn’t look all that great to us. That adjustable skirt looks like the bag you put your delicates in when you wash them. Which is kind of funny considering her delicates are on full display.
