Darlings, it was the Writers Guild of America West Coast Awards! Because the East Coast was starting to get a little snotty about it!
Ahna O’Reilly
Really cute dress, but the height of the hem makes her look a little cocktail waitress-y.
Amanda Peet
Oh sweetie. Live a little. It’s 2012. Flash a little shoulder or ankle or something.
Amy Poehler in David Meister
She always makes terrible red carpet choices and while the color here is awful and looks like her skin is hanging off in sheets, this dress otherwise suits and flatters her, which is a step in the right direction.
Kiernan Shipka
Because her performance was so good on Mad Men, her part was never re-cast (like many child parts in serial drama would be), so it’s ironic that she’s playing a character at least a couple years older than her (last time we checked in) but she’s one of those young ladies who’s taking her time to mature. Sally Draper keeps getting older and little Kiernan looks largely the same. We’re dying to find out what year the new season takes place in and whether we’re supposed to buy her as a teenager.
Still, she looks adorable here.
Lisa Kudrow
Oh, honey. When your red carpet outfit is completely indistinguishable from what you’d wear to a funeral of a person you hardly knew, it’s time to turn around and go home.
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
We sound like a broken record, but the shape is fantastic. Tadashi worked that shit out.
Zooey Deschanel in vintage Shareen
It’s pretty and it suits her, even if it is a little “1975 JC Penneys catalogue.” The criss-crossing sashes are a bit much.
