Darlings, it was the closing ceremony at the Cannes Film Festival and some of the ladies BROUGHT IT.
Chanel Spring 2010 Couture Collection/Model: Sigrid Agren (ELITE)
Kiki is back in the hizzy, you guys. This is the best she’s looked in ages. Oh sure, you all voted her an IN when we were leaning toward OUT (and we forgive you for that), but you have to admit, she’s bringing movie star realness to the red carpet here. Her hair still looks like an afterthought and she’s got the bitchiest facial expression on her, but the girl looks fantastic.
It’s a stunning dress and it’s on a stunningly well-preserved gal, but after the applause for her surgeon and support garments fades, we’re left thinking the combination of tight and slinky with a perfectly matched skin tone makes her look a bit like she’s melting.Still, we did the gasp when we saw her and that was surely the whole point.
Rosario Dawson in Roberto Cavalli
Rosario’s always been a fence-jumper* for us and we usually like the effort and thought that gets put into her outfits, but we’re not sure we love this look. There’s just too much going on. Dramatic, yes. But also a little distracting. There’s one too many elements here at least. Plus the super-matchy earrings disappoint us and the fit in the bust looks a little off.

Holy shit, she looks amazing. In fact, we’ve just coined a fashion term. Just like every lady should have a Little Black Dress in her closet, so should she have a Holy Shit She Looks Amazing Dress hanging next to it. This is your Holy Grail, ladies. Just like every guy should find the cut of jeans that makes his ass look magnificent (and every guy can), every lady must have her Holy Shit She Looks Amazing dress. If she’s dress-inclined, that is. We suppose you could find a Holy Shit She Looks Amazing Pair of Pants but that doesn’t have the same ring to it.
We seem to have wandered off a bit.
Anyway, yes. She looks amazing. It’s dramatic and beautiful and – this is not a word we use often but we should – womanly. There’s nothing girly or flirty about this look. It’s all woman. We weren’t sure about the heavy-rimmed eyes, but it really sets off the blue in them, which is, of course, the point when paired with this dress. We like that the jewelry is extremely understated. It should be, with such a dramatic dress. We don’t love the hair. An updo was required, but that sad little topknot isn’t wowing us.
Still. Holy shit, she looks amazing.
