Style File: Kate Bosworth Had Herself a WEEK

Posted on November 08, 2017

Kittens, it’s hard out there for an actress/sidewalk model. Miss Kate’s got a movie out (which is itself something of a rarity, sorrytobebitchesaboutit) and she’s stepped up her already full roster of public modeling duties considerably. We’re exhausted just looking at her. But not so worn out that we can’t muster up a few opinions on what she’s wearing.

Basic in a lot of ways, but sharp and classically chic. We get why she didn’t choose a black bag. We just don’t get why she chose that color.

Lately, it seems like everyone’s showing up to the morning chat shows just a little bit too dressed up for our tastes. This says “night out on the town,” not “chatting about my movie over coffee.” We can tell that everything’s high-end and well-chosen, but it’s all paired up somewhat randomly, like a series of contractual obligations checked off.

Nice to see her with her hair down, but this look is too precious by half. We mostly don’t mind the missing sleeve, but the fringed hem on the pants is a bit much, as are the appliqued boots and bag. Again, there’s this feel of random high-end items getting snatched from a pile and thrown together.

And AGAIN. We like the coat and the t-shirt. We might be convinced on the pants, but those silver pointy-toed pumps don’t go with any of it. It’s all soft and girly, with execu-bitch shoes on the bottom.

Hello, 2004. It’s been a while. We’re not ready for your return.

Yes, everything about this look just screams “COMEDY FESTIVAL,” doesn’t it? For a supposed fashionista, she seems to have some off-kilter instincts. This is socialite-wear. She looks fine in it, but it’s an odd choice for the occasion.
