Ever since Raf Simons took over Calvin Klein, the house style has changed significantly – and largely to its benefit, we would say. At least so far. But the problem for the average red carpet-attending gal is that she really needs to re-calibrate her CK settings. She may make the choice thinking she’s dealing with the classic, highly wearable, hard-to-get wrong brand of CK minimalism…
… only to have reality come crashing down around her.
To be fair, this isn’t completely awful. It’s not even mostly awful. She’s still working a vaguely mid-Century retro look, which still looks great on her — although we feel the need to express the un-asked-for advice that she needs to get this one out of her system lest it start becoming gimmicky.
Anyway, we don’t mind the style (mostly), shapes (because they’re standard), or colors (although they don’t all go together) here, but the fabrics are simply too shiny, flimsy and wrinkly to work for a photo-taking sitch. That top looks like a sleeveless rain jacket and that drawstring neck is simply a terrible design.
