In Which We Argue Over Tom Hiddleston’s Gucci Suit at the “Thor: Ragnarok” L.A. Premiere

Posted on October 11, 2017

We are not entirely in agreement on the Hiddles’ suit here.

Lo thinks it’s sharp and that we have no room to criticize it since we’re always complaining about movie star men who show up on red carpets dressed like attorneys and accountants. Tom’s (many) rebuttals are as follows:

1. The plaid looks better suited for a napkin.

2. Aren’t little plaid suits kind of on the decline, trendwise? The Pee-Wee look is dead.

3. The cut is a little odd, in that everything – jacket, pants, sleeves – is just a bit short.

4. The trim around the lapels turns this into an airline uniform.

Lo kinda/sorta agrees with most of the above, but thinks the suitability of it (no pun intended) to Tom overrides many of the concerns. He’s the right guy for this twee little suit, according to Lo. Tom is just kind of done with the Pee-Wee look overall; especially on British actors. It’s starting to become a bit of a cliche with that lot.

We are in full agreement that the ratty head styling is not to his benefit.
