Oh no, you guys. It’s the very worst sort of J Lo. It’s the J Lo we rarely see and hope to not see again any time soon.
It’s TRYHARD J LO.
One could weep.
Granted, what constitutes try-hardedness is entirely within the eye of the beholder, and we’re not sure we can quite articulate why this slightly attention-seeking ensemble is somehow different from her many other ones. But we’ll try, darlings. For the children.
Looking at this ensemble, despite the cream-colored bag, platform shoes and leopard print (all J Lo standards) we’re reminded not so much of Jenny but of Salma Hayek, who has a tendency to shove herself into high-end dresses that look a little silly or precious on a grown woman. Granted, this is all much better integrated a look; styled much better than most Hayek jawns. But even so. The gold platform, shiny leopard, cuffed sleeves, waist bow and glasses all come off way too curated for J, who’s usually pretty good at hauling a ton of A-list brand names around on her body without ever looking overwhelmed by them.
In the end, it’s all just a little too precious for her image. She looks more like an Instagram style blogger than a movie star.
He looks alright.
