Maybe it’s just us, but there’s a weird sort of disconnect between the summer Normandy sun and a dress that looks like it belongs at a New Year’s Eve party.
But we honestly believe “weird sort of disconnect” is Miss Marion’s brand, in a way. She has such a history of wearing these slightly incongruous outfits that we’re not at all surprised she picked a black-and-gold party dress for a seaside film festival. She’ll never go the expected route.
Admittedly, for such a disco-ready color scheme, this might be a bit too serious to call a “party dress.” Still, we like it on its own merits even if we wouldn’t have suggested it for this time and place. We’d have liked a slightly higher hem and more structured sleeves, though. The yoke is a bit overwhelming and the skirt a bit heavy. Your thoughts on the matter at hand?
