This one’s been sitting in a folder for a couple of days so we could fight over it.
We’re both very much in agreement that it’s a great dress for picture-taking and sitting on a stage. There’s an impact there but it’s mitigated by being rendered in tones of white, which of course looks great on her. But while Lorenzo adores the juxtaposition of textiles, textures and styles, Tom is finding the yoke and the rest of the dress to be a bit too incongruous and unresolved. Maybe if the bust of the dress didn’t sit so low or if the cotton of the yoke didn’t seems so flimsy and even cheap next to the silk. Plus the armholes don’t seem to be situated correctly for her.
But Lo is insistent that it’s a high-impact, head-turning look that suits her to a T and is perfect for the venue. Tom actually agrees with him on most of that, but can’t seem to give up his quibbles. Make the call:
