Look, since this whole red carpet thing has always been a minefield for you, let us attempt to give you a very simple, basic rule you can follow. It is our considered opinion, after years of giving advice both asked-for and decidedly not so on the topic of style, that the adoption of this one practice will instantly improve your personal style with very little effort.
Are you ready to hear it, Amy? T Lo’s Golden Rule of Style? Then here goes:
If you try on a dress, stand in front of a mirror, and the only expression you can manage on your face is the one you’re sporting in all of these pictures? Rip it off and throw it on the discard pile.
Who are you trying to kid, lady? You hate this frock. And we don’t blame you, because it looks like a whole hell of a lot of effort and exposure. Plus the proportions are really weird. And then there’s that whole other Style Golden Rule about tits or thigh but never both.
We hesitate to hammer this point too hard, because of what might result from it on the off-chance she’d pay attention to anything we have to say, but Amy, if it doesn’t make you happy, don’t wear it. Simple as that.
