Translating the Trends for Spring 2017: Feeling the Springtime Blues

Posted on March 21, 2017

Darlings, you probably haven’t had a chance to fit any retail therapy in today. Fortunately, we, as your pushers, are here for you. Or rather, Lorenzo is, once again.

Alexander Wang | Altuzarra | Bibhu Mohapatra | Celine | Christian Dior
Delpozo | DKNY \ Elie Saab | Escada | Fausto Puglisi
Giambattista Valli | Gucci | Jil Sander | Jill Stuart | Marc Jacobs
Michael Kors | Miu Miu | MSGM | Prabal Gurung | Ralph & Russo
Stella McCartney | Talbot | Thom Browne | Tibi | Vetements

As you can see from the above collage of runway looks for this season, a range of springtime blues were on designers’ minds; from baby to royal to dusty to the every-trendy robin’s egg. And while you could save up all your pennies and buy one of the above pieces in order to be the trend-chaser we know you can be, we think Lorenzo can come up with some better, more workable options to freshen up your wardrobe with this season’s color.

First up on our shopping trip, some basic Blue Wardrobe Pieces:

Jackets, coats, sweaters, pants and dresses, Lo picked out a range of freshening pieces that would look great without overdoing it. His faves: The adorable ASOS maternity dress and ASOS sleeveless top, the moto options, and the cute Kors day dresses. That pale blue trench coat is rather sweet, too.

Next up, if you’d rather spend your money on the fun stuff, Lo picked out a metric ton of Blue Shoes & Bags:

Kittens? You don’t need us to tell you which ones look good. Go to town. Lo loves them all. Like his little blue children.

And finally, if you’re in the market for some well-chosen finishing pieces, have fun picking through the Random Blue Accessories aisle:

Those Betsey Johnson frogs are adorable. And Kate Spade sure knows how to design a cute watch, no? Loving that Bauble Bar necklace too.

So, dolls. Feeling blue at the moment?
