Well hello, 1995!
How have you been? It’s been a while.
Y’know what? This really isn’t bad.
Except for – JESUS THOSE SHOES. Way to go, lady. You could have had us on board with the 1995 Office Manager look, but you had to go and Pike things up again by picking those hideosities.
She and her team have the oddest instincts. It’s a bold move to choose an ensemble like this one but then they had to go and completely ruin it with the footwear choice.
We’re not kidding. That’s the sticking point here.
Maybe you think the whole look is unsalvageable because you can’t get past pleated plaid pants or a mousey white blouse, but we think it had real possibilities with the right styling. The coat is dramatically shaped enough to do most of the heavy lifting here. All she needs to do is engineer a better tuck, hem the pants a good three inches or so and find herself a pair of attention-seeking shoes that provide some contrast. Something modern and bold. Not necessarily the ugly things that model is wearing, but definitely something with color and interesting lines or details. We’re telling you, it could work. We’re not crazy.
