This probably isn’t fair of us, but our first reaction to any Sarah Jessica Parker red carpet appearance is to load the sentence “Sarah Jessica, you dress like a crazy person” into our bitchtracks, ready for launch.

And this was the getup that made us realize how much that sentiment is pre-loaded in our SJP coverage. Let’s break it down.

She’s wearing a white, cold-shoulder gown with a wide plunging neckline, which means she’s very much on trend at the moment.

She’s sporting the very latest in extraordinarily complicated up dos.

And yet she looks a little cray. Those sleeves are utterly ridiculous. The Princess Leia hair really doesn’t suit her.

Bottom line: Sarah Jessica Parker should not be chasing style trends. Girl, you do much better for yourself when you go your own way. We sometimes get annoyed with your Carrie Bradshaw drag, but at least it’s not generic.

On the other hand, we can’t help but appreciate that the star of Divorce showed up for an awards ceremony in a wedding gown. That’s a little cheeky.
