And now, some uncharacteristic Natalie Portman gushing from T Lo, who literally laughed their asses off through Black Swan years ago (to the annoyance of everyone else in the theater) and who have spent the last decade being largely ambivalent about 87% of her style choices.
This is absolutely stunning.
Quite possibly the most chic celebrity maternity gown we’ve ever seen and something you should definitely put a pin in, because we’ll be coming back to it in December 2017 when we compile the Best Red Carpet Looks lists.
Prada’s not in her usual rotation, but maybe it should be. Not every gal can work its late mid-Century aesthetic, bold colors and almost-gaudy trim, but to our surprise, Miss Natalie appears to be one of them. Maybe this is like a January Jones or K Stew style thing; a pretty but largely unassuming female star who has a surprising facility for wearing really hard-to-wear looks. Not that this is cutting edge, but we can’t think of many who can make this dress look this good.
And you need to send a basket of muffins to the team who did your head, girl. They ALL did right by you.
And maybe it’s not an obvious reference at first glance, but this is TOTALLY late ’60s Jackie Onassis (except without the baby belly and with a much shorter skirt, in her case). We literally gasped when we saw it. It’s both chic and a form of high drag mimicry at the same time. Really well done all around.
