Natalie Portman Almost Fooled Us at the Palm Springs Film Festival

Posted on January 03, 2017

Miss Natalie, you almost had us with this one.

Our first impulse was to declare how elegant and … stately a look this is – especially for a lady who’s in the midst of some babybaking at the moment.

Not exciting, certainly, but it suits her needs and has a simple elegance that befits the Dior name.

But as always in style, the details matter, and a closer look gives a more complete picture:

She put a sheer t-shirt on under a Dior halter gown. The necklines don’t even remotely match.

(Can we take a brief respite from dress-bitching to note that her makeup, while pretty, is not… fresh? She’s sporting the makeup of a woman 20 years older than her.)

Worse, the thing doesn’t fit her at all. Look at where the shoulder seams are. Then look at where her shoulders are. Check out all that awful pulling across the front.

We get why she’d not want to sport a sleeveless gown in January during her third trimester, but this was not the way to go. Given her long relationship with Dior, there’s no reason she couldn’t have asked for an alteration or just picked a different gown. This is just … odd.
