Oooh, this might be where we get off, Miss Janelle. Hate to say it.

No one’s been singing the praises of her style louder than we have for the last six months. We just love her ability to find chic and unique looks while staying within a strict black-and-white theme.

And we love the designs of Thom Browne, to the point where we tend to defend his work because we think it can be so easily misconstrued.

But this isn’t among our favorites of her recent looks, we’re afraid.

We like a witty bit of trompe l’oeil as much as the next two queens, but a printed tuxedo is kind of a huge cliche. Sure, maybe that was the point, in which case we’d expect a wittier or more ironic take, either in the design or in the styling. The other aspects of the look aren’t really up to the task.

But she packed a LOT of looks working the same theme into a very short period of time – and she aced 99% of them. We’re just not feeling this one.
