    • boweryboy

      Absolutely turrible.

    • maxxman

The top reminds me of a bridge. The shoulder pads are the pillars holding the suspension of glitter.
Always thought she was a natural blonde. Surprised with all that natural goop stuff she would add chemicals to her hair.

      • livesarah

If you’ve ever seen high school photos of her, she was definitely brunette. She just had the colouring to carry off the fake blonde.

  • She is a sternum cover away from a little girl’s piano recital dress. No, grown ass woman, no.

    • gabbi

She’s actually wearing the piano cover.

    • She looks quite pleased with herself. She shouldn’t.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

        Doesn’t she always?

    • Valdri8

If that is not high school Christmas Concert hair, then I do not know what is. Good fucking grief.

      • ktr33

        MIDDLE school Christmas concert hair

    • MOrtal Meg

Her level has gone so low that this is the best she has looked in a while

  • Sarah

Backwards dress and cheerleader hair? Hells to the NO, Gwyneth.

  • Jangle57

My first thought was: wow, that’s pretty bad

  • 3boysful

    I’ll take that ring.

Other issues with the dress aside, it doesn’t work to have a bold color dress and death-mask makeup.

    • kimmeister

That ring is amazing. It by itself is better than the combined total of the last 25 outfits she has worn.

  • myandyleigh

Wow. This rivals yesterday’s entry in terms of awfulness. Apparently Gwyneth is under the impression that her decolletage and sternum are so fabulous that she absolutely must share them with the world. I wish she wouldn’t.

    • AnniNoone

You would think she would have learned this in 1999.

      • myandyleigh

Gwyneth doesn’t learn lessons, she teaches them. Silly mortal.

  • The prettiest linebacker at the game.

  • gotgreyhound

What’s the story with the bedazzled clavicle leash? Just weird.

    • kimmeister

Because without it, the dress would just fall off her torso.

    • ktr33

It’s like one of those PR moments where they make a dress that falls off and so they sew on a garland of leftover Mood trimming as they’re running down to the show.

  • Karen B

“F-ck all ya sternum haters, I’m going for navel gazin'”

  • GemFemme

This almost like a parody of a sternum baring dress, it’s so aggressively cut. Yuck.

  • Chloe Denmark

    Gwennie is basic as shit.

  • butterflysunita

Very ugly and very weird dress. And from the neck up she looks like she’s on the way to the gym (except for the blackened eyes, of course).

  • Hugo’s Boss

The cap sleeves make NO SENSE with the rest of that dress. Remove them and the dress still has its issues, but would be greatly improved.

  • &theJets

I think she needs to go back to the short haircut. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, her hair looks like it’s in pain. Cut it off and start all over.

  • AndieJay

By now I’ve seen Gwyneth’s sternum more often than I’ve seen my own.

  • Anna

The nicest thing I can say about this: is I love the ring.

It looks like she both let Apple choose her hairstyle and that she got the ribbon from Apple’s accessories drawer.

    • CakesOnAPlane

“Use the Apple Accessories Drawer wisely!”

      • AnneElliot

“Strategically and thoughtfully” if I’m not mistaken.

  • In_Stitches

Such a weird dress. The cap sleeves, the fabric and the shape of the skirt read little girl at Christmas. The bow just solidifies the little girl comparison. Then you add on the neckline and the stark hair and it feels…appropriate? Is that the right word? I don’t know. It’s fine. It’s a bit confusing, but it works. She better ditch that bow though.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

    Eww. And No.

  • V No Privacy

That ribbon in her hair is the saddest I have ever seen. It bums me out.

    • jen

Right? It’s a fabric cry for help.

  • teensmom99

Feeling generous, I’m giving it baby steps. Make up looks like it wasn’t slept in. If she had lipstick on, it would even be good. Hair is somewhat shorter and the non-extension, non-pony tail part is good. Only sternum is bared, not legs. So I’m seeing lots of progress.

  • The Three-fer Fail: ribbon, eyelashes, and sternum. OOF.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“Ribbon, Eyelashes & Sternum, can I help you?”

  • dash1211

If the dress were green, I’d swear she had it made out of Miss Ellen’s portieres.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

      I love a good GWTW reference. 🙂

  • Sonia Perez

I hate sternum on everyone. Especially her, okay, her and Lea Michelle.

  • Glam Dixie

The dress appears to have boob sacks. No.

  • Diane

    this is awful

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

It’s pretty. And it’s better than the crap she wore yesterday.

  • Jennie

Gah! And she was honored with a style award at this shindig?!?

  • Imasewsure

She doesn’t use a stylist, does she? This is hideous

  • StrandedFashionista

I know I’m going to absolutely be in the minority on this one, but I actually rather like this. It’s different from her usual fair, and it’s got a bit of a sexy Madame X vibe to it that I like.

    • bessann28

I can’t get behind the bodice, but otherwise I like this, too.

    • GillianHolroyd

Thank you, that or early 20th c. I like this and wish it were worn by Blanchett instead.

      • StrandedFashionista

She might have made it look more elegant with her poise and bearing, and probably some kind of clever styling.

    • anyess

I like it quite a bit, too. I think she looks beautiful in it. And I also get “Madame X” from the design. I may really be in the minority when I say that I think the sleek hair works well with it, too.

    • Laura F.

Right? I’m surprised by how much I don’t hate this.

    • FuhUgh

But Madame X wore it better in 1884.

  • Lisa Roberts

“I saw it in the window and I couldn’t resist it” …:)

    • NilBlur

Gotcha 😉 Left the rod at home. (But I actually like this dress.)

  • Imasewsure

That’s Gwen Christie’s dress, isn’t it (and it would still be somewhat awful but at least be slightly more regal)

  • evave2

I like the pony tail. I am not sure (at first I thought she had illusion netting over her chest but then I looked as close as I could and NO that is Gwynneth) about the front top half of the dress.

  • That is not a ponytail dress.

    • conniemd

What is that pony tail? It literally looks like the tail of a pony, with a bright brassy blonde color and split ends that is tacked onto her other hair at the ribbon.

      • shirab

Someone should have reached over and just cut it off for her. Would have been a major improvement.

      • It’s very Gidget at a funeral.

      • Wink

She and her hair stylist must be in the midst of a conscious uncoupling.

  • NBG

The 1980s called. They want their everything back.

  • MilaXX

  • KateShouldBeWorking

I’m dying to hear how much that boutique ribbon cost.

  • OrangeChia

I can’t get past the hair.

  • Janet B

  • Tenley

For the woman who wants the illusion that she has a foot of space between her breasts.

  • skitzfiggitous

She’s walking funeral drapes for a really gaudy deceased person.

  • lalalala

i really loved this dress, i don’t know why

    • alyce1213

It is a beautiful dress, she just doesn’t wear it well I think.

  • Joanna B

I can’t with the hair ribbon.

  • alyce1213

The dress is not for her, she looks awkward with her arms just hanging out of the cap sleeves. The dress, which is beautiful, requires more presence. I can see it on Marissa Berenson (related to Schiaparelli), 30 years ago.

  • Jennifer McGuire

Gazillion dollar dress, crispy bleached blond hair with roots in a ponytail with a velvet bow. No.

  • Little_Olive

Can I simply lol at the collar-necklace? I just did a presentation and my brain is drained.

  • Tanya Wade

I sat behind someone in a meeting yesterday that had the same pee-on-snow hair color. It blinded me then and it blinds me now. Nice dress, though.

    • annrr

      Pee on snow! exactly

  • Because nothing says “hot single woman on the prowl” like black velvet.

    • Little_Olive

Is she single though? I thought she’d consciously recoupled.

      • I think she is? I can’t find anything beyond her split with Brad Falchuk.

        • prisma

I think she and Brad renewed their contract because they’ve been “spotted” canoodling in public.

  • I’m really just tired of seeing her.

  • TamiSeattle

Why do I get the feeling her shoulders are actually that shape?

  • Scarlett’s green velvet curtains did more for her than this….this….weird thing does for Gwyneth. Also: the color contrast between the roots of her hair and the ends is shockingly awful. Too much ombre, too little conditioner.

    • MannahattaMamma

The ponytail looks fake b/c it’s such a different color.

  • Kimberlini

Gwynnie’s idea of a royal look. Find it on Poop, oops, I mean Goop.

  • MannahattaMamma

No really. This is like fashion via The Onion, right? Because really? So much wrong with the dress and then to take all that cleavage and top it off with a little-girl-ponytail-bow?

  • She’s dressed like a grown-up Wendy Darling. Horrible.

  • Lily

What the whut? Velvet, plus sternum, plus puffy sleeves, plus pony ribbon, plus what are we calling that sequined thing?

Go home. You’ve been drinking too much kombucha and it’s warped your sense of style.

  • crash1212

She has a beautiful neck….that’s all I got.

  • Too. Much. Breastbone.

  • penguinmom

I want that black ring—- now. And—- whispering softy while ducking behind the drapes—- I kinda dig the black velvet, although the plunge is too plung-y and the chain is too chain-y and the sleeves are too ugly. Okay, maybe I don’t like the dress, just the fabric. And that hair is beyond awful.

  • KayEmWhy

she went from sheet couture to funeral parlor curtains.

  • Tatiana Luján

    I think she looks gorgeous.

    • Shawn EH

It’s a little bit Madame X, which is on the sexy side for her.

  • Kaonashi

  • B_C_J

It appears that I’m the only one that likes this. Yes, the two tone hair in a pony tail with a bow is a travesty. However the dress does call for hair up so at least that part is ok. I’m getting a John singer Sargent/Madame X vibe. The cap sleeves emphasize the extreme décolletage & given that her bust is modest I think it works very well. The fabric is sumptuous & the diamanté adornment sets it off beautifully.

  • Qitkat

There is a LOT of extra room in the top of this gown. I actually think it’s quite beautiful, but Gwyneth is not the right person to be wearing it. I would like to see it with the deep V sewn closed a few inches and a woman with a curvier figure wearing it. I think it would really sing then. Imagine Christina Hendricks here, with proper lift for the girls, but no babyheads (that is possible isn’t it? proper lift with hidden support?) and her beautiful red hair softly curled around her face. I’m just so tired of sternum baring I can hardly stand it.

  • Lauren Dorsee Dillon

I don’t care what she’s wearing. She provokes a Pavlovian cringe within every time I see her.

  • Tom Markiewicz

I was with her til the ribbon in her hair…

  • Aunt Kiki

  • SuzyQuzey

Is her sternum allergic to fabric?

  • A_guy01

    Funeral Toga

  • NJCathi

I spit out my chicken salad when I saw this! What the hell?

  • Trixie A. Cooper

    So much hiddy.

  • kerryev

    God, that hair color.

    • Greenlee Rose

  • Kristin

This is a Not Her Dress moment. And the precious little hair ribbon…ugh. It’s like some kind of WASPy recital.

  • marlie

It’s actually a very lovely dress, but her hair and makeup made me roll my eyes so hard that I hurt myself.

  • cocohall

This look combined with the awkward wrap dress from yesterday are making me wonder if all is well in GOOP Land. These are not the fashion choices of a mentally stable person. This silhouette is peculiar. Like yesterday’s dress, I can think of precisely no one that it would flatter. Blythe Danner – please call your daughter and schedule a lunch. She needs someone who loves her to gently guide her back to the path of pretty.

  • aelizabethpm

    That dress is wearing her…

  • Glammie

Ooh, someone sewed together the dining-room curtains and used the curtain ties as a connector.

Oh, you mean this wasn’t a Project Runway challenge? Oops . . .

  • Joséphine Marie-Louise Goldmun

As much as I love to hate her annoying personality, she’s looking fabulous here. For once she’s wearing an interesting cut in a non-pastel colour. The only thing really weird is the yellow hair with the bow tie.

  • beckly

Since everyone else has the loathing rightfully covered, I will say her posture looks okay here. I have never been able to work out why a yoga bore has such terrible posture.

  • understateddiva

Sorry to bother you Ms. Paltrow but I think you may have put your dress on backwards…

  • Lolla

She never could pull off black.

  • mila_8

She looks like the last person I’d want to approach at a party. Pretentious and not a bit of fun.

  • DesertDweller79

    • DesertDweller79

Also, why is her hair that horrible yellow color? None of this looks good on her. I’d rather see her in that pale green twisted towel dress she wore recently.

  • E. D.

    Nope, especially on the hair.

  • lingli

Both in this and the green wrappy thing, her boobs look as though they’ve had a terrible argument and are now so mad at each other they don’t even want to be in the same room together.

  • New to the world of matchy-matchy: Match your ring exactly to your gown.

  • oohsparkley!

I was going to say that she’s wearing it backwards, but no, I see the back looks just as low. I don’t like it on the model either.

  • PeaceBang

Ooof. Head to toe awful. How in the WORLD does her colorist keep bleaching her hair broom yellow? And I’ve only just begun…

  • yethica

Is she actually wearing a ribbon in her hair? REALLY? Gwyneth: you are not 13. No person over the age of 13 should be wearing a ribbon in his/her hair unless it is part of some form of costume. And no, red carpet finery does NOT count as a costume.

  • frosty dufour

I can’t with the wide necklines anymore. And that hair color sitchyation is Code Blue bad.

  • Lilyana_F

    Lol. No.

  • PumpkintheCat

I just physically recoiled from my screen. That’s a REALLY unflattering dress.
