Girl, That’s Not Your Dress: Julianna Margulies in Michael Kors at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards

Honey, no.

We get that it’s the CFDAs, and a certain amount of exuberance, if not outright WTFery, is to be expected, but …

no:

You are many things, Julianna Margulies, but Rihanna is not one of those things. You’re gorgeous and you’ve got a great body, but you’re just not a “visible panties” kinda gal. And you’re usually so good with things like restraint and elegance. We’re going to be kind and chalk this up to an overzealous stylist talking you into something and/or a lack of foresight as to whether the dress was going to go totally sheer under the glare of camera flashes. Because if we don’t chalk it up to those things, you kinda come across as the thirstiest try-hard of the night.

And MAN, did you ever get the styling wrong on this one. If you’re going for the sheer panty dress, then is now the time for the cute little headband and elegant earrings? JBF hair and a giant honkin’ cocktail ring was the way to go.

Well. To be more accurate, not choosing this dress at all was the way to go, but we’re trying to find a way to make this work.

Also, we’re thinking this one’s an FMO – a For Models Only dress. It looks completely different on the 8-and-a-half-foot tall Karlie Kloss.

Girl, it’s just not your dress. Set it free on the wind to find its wearer.
