Elizabeth Banks in Prada at the 2015 Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

No matter what else January Jones manages to do with her life, she can always be proud of the fact that she pretty much re-embodied the modern style classic now known as the Betty Draper dress. The problem with this style is that it can often, if not carefully deployed, veer awfully close to the Mamie Eisenhower dress.

We’re just saying:

Girl, we’re not even sure Grace Kelly could’ve made that upholstery fabric and dowdy neckline work.

To be fair, it almost works, and she does look quite pretty herself. We even like the shoes. But the dress is too heavy, the hem probably a bit too long, and the neckline too home-sewn-looking for this to come off as cooly elegant as it should.
