Bless.

Look, we know we’re all supposed to worship everything she does or risk pariah-hood, but we are quite comfortable gently chuckling over her style choices. For all her well-earned Diva-ness, she has never been as adept at utilizing fashion as many of her peers are, like Rihanna, Gaga (at one point, long ago), and even Gwen Stefani. She’s fierce and fabulous in a million ways, but we honestly couldn’t call her “chic.” Not really. Solange is the chic one in that family.

Here she is making one of her two most common mistakes: Overdoing it. The other most common one being underdoing it, of course. These are her only two modes. Anyway, we’re not against the idea of wild pattern-mixing, but you’ve got to have some sort of interplay between the two prints. This just looks random as hell. The super-tricky shades and the showy bag take it too far, especially since it’s all, as per usual a skosh tight.

We like this one better:

Miss Lady’s got her eatin’ clothes on, because that’s not her usual body-con look, which is nice to see. This is a slightly better attempt at pattern-mixing, but the shoes take it a bit far. Plain white pumps would have been better.

We’re not loving the Bettie Page hair. Those are some janky-ass bangs.
