Reese Witherspoon in Saint Laurent at “Wild” Premiere

Posted on September 11, 2014

We have to say, there’s nothing more thrilling to us than a savvy star, gunning like crazy for that career renaissance, putting every trick and lesson she’s learned into play – and nailing it. Pure #BeMeOrDoMe-ism. Does our hearts proud, it does. Because this girl?

On fire.

And once again, as with the Dolce & Gabbana dress (and even the last street outfit we featured), it’s less about any supposed perfection in the garment and more about (ENTIRELY about, we’d suggest) her poise, bearing and attitude. Put simply: she’s selling the shit out of herself every time she steps in front of a camera and she’s gotten shockingly good at it.

The bodice is tricky and weird. We don’t hate it, but we tend to think it was designed for a model of much greater height. Similarly, and this is a persistent issue with her, the waist sits a skosh high. She seems very sold on the idea of showing off her legs (with good reason), but she sometimes shortchanges her torso to do it. Literally.

Minor bitches, though. Like we said, this is pure image management (with an end goal of another Oscar, we’d wager) and she’s acing it.
