We have another scintillating Fashion Week celebrity encounter tale to tell you, although it’s only marginally related to these pictures and neither Emma Stone nor Colin Firth appear in it.
So we went to the Dennis Basso show the other day and got there a bit early when we noticed that Colton Haynes was sitting in the front row and that, for the most part, the press hadn’t seemed to notice he was there yet, meaning he was just hanging out and looking around. We never really get a chance (or much desire) to walk up to any celebs and ask for a picture, but this was a rare opportunity when a really cute male one was just sitting there, waiting for us to become a nuisance. “Go ahead,” urged Tom to Lorenzo, who’s always better at going up to people cold and asking them for something, “Go take a pic.” Lorenzo ran off, leaving Tom with the Fug Girls, as we all snickered at his schoolgirl glee and semi-obvious crushing. Next thing we know, Colton and Lorenzo are having a fine old time laughing and taking selfies together, which is a development none of us foresaw.

“TOM!” Lorenzo suddenly yelled. “GET DOWN HERE!” “I’m going to kill him,” Tom muttered to the Fug Girls. See, Tom used to work in film production for a while and while you could count on one hand the number of actual stars he was lucky to work with, he’s always had it ingrained into him on a professional level that you just don’t geek out about celebrities in front of them. We all have our thing, all right? That’s his. Back off.
Colton could not have been sweeter or friendlier. He loves our site and said that he loves that we really hold celebrities to task for their style choices. Which is really nice of him to say, considering we’ve speculated in previous posts as to whether or not he’s gay. Absolutely a standup guy. But our point is, when you stand next to a beautiful person half your age and have your photo taken…
It’s REALLY HARD not to be acutely aware that you’re standing next to a beautiful person half your age.
Now Lorenzo, if we do say so ourselves, looks fabulous and took the exact right tack of not giving a shit and just enjoying the moment for what it was. Colton insisted on taking the pictures and L ordered him to do a good job “Because I’m twice your age, bitch.”
(Lorenzo would like it noted that he was exaggerating and is in fact, not twice Colton Haynes’ age. Some might say he’s not even close to it.)
But neither Colin nor Emma seem to be able to get over their discomfort in pictures, which makes the prospect of us going to see them in a Woody Allen rom com together very slim. There’s such an overwhelming lack of chemistry that it’s really distracting. They actually look embarrassed, which would have to be the absolutely worst way to look when you’re standing on the red carpet for your film premiere.
Style-wise, they’re fine. Good, even. We don’t love his tie matched to his suit. She’s smartly working a vaguely 1920s look, in keeping with the time period of the movie. We don’t like the sheer overskirt at all, but we appreciate that she stuck to a theme fairly well without looking like she’s wearing a costume.
