• http://fibonaccisequins.storenvy.com/ Danielle

YAY, because I’m a sucker for unconventional. Too bad half of young Hollywood has no idea what #2 is.

    • suzq

It’s a film can. You know…film? The stuff we used to put in the camera (see #1) to take pictures?
      Aw hell….

      • http://fibonaccisequins.storenvy.com/ Danielle

Come on, the little canister we had to take to Walmart and wait a day or so to get back?

        • poggi

About half the time you never even took it to get developed because it cost too much (I can’t be the only one with undeveloped film jammed in the back of a drawer)..

          • Logo Girl

You are most certainly not ;)

        • Angela Petraline

That’s not all we stashed in those canisters…

    • kimmeister

Took me a second to figure it out!

    • Sophie

My sister recently got an analog camera, only took one film with her on holiday. When I asked her why, she said she’d have to wait until she could be in a blackroom to take the film out of the camera to avoid light ruining the film. I showed her how to turn the little wheel to protect the pictures, and then she proceeded to take a lot of contre-jour pictures.
That being said, I really like the film can clutch. Not so much the camera one, though.

  • Anna

These are all mostly really cute. Big YAY for #5.

    • kimmeister

That one makes me want to go out and buy a beret-and-sweater set for my cats.

      • http://instagram.com/nevareese International Model

There may be an Etsy shop for that particular problem…

      • Kristi Mitchell

I think I just landed the idea for this years’ christmas card. I’m sure my cats will thank you for it.

      • H2olovngrl

        They’d be pissed.

  • kimmeister

Mixed, but mostly YEA. I can’t really tell the scale of these bags though. That lipstick one seems like it would be tiny.

    • Kitten Mittons

It’d be kind of funny if it only fit one tube of lipstick.

      • Constant Reader

        My thoughts exactly!

      • luluransom

I used to have a weensy sequined Gaultier evening bag that held only a lipstick. My big splurge from a post college trip to Italy. Girlfriends immediately dubbed it the tampon holder.

        • Kitten Mittons

Glad she didn’t make THAT purse.

      • Kent Roby

Yet even then it would fit all of Tay’s “workout clothes”!

        • Kitten Mittons

          Bravo, bravo!

        • Anna

          CAN’T WAIT for those pictures!

    • Kent Roby

As the parent of a male dog, I giggled a bit when I saw that bag (yes, my mind is a warped wonderland at times!).

  • NDC_IPCentral

A couple of decades ago, when I had a black tie social life as part of a Big Corporation’s Law Department, I’d sort of drool over Judith Leiber bags (though never had one, to be sure), but since that chapter is well finished, I find these… well, clever but still dated, somehow. Must be my Monday Maudlin mood.

    • kerryev

Maybe not just your mood…I have nearly spot-on patterns to make beaded versions of all three florals, and those are from the mid 90s.

  • Sobaika

A few of these (especially the Marilyn Monroe) look like something you’d pick up at a mall cart. But j’adore the camera and the the cat!

    • Jackie4g

I like the paint drips, too.

    • barbarienne

I really, really hate the commodification of Marilyn Monroe’s image. I get that she’s iconic, but it just seems rude. Slap the dead icon’s face all over everything! People will buy it! Doesn’t matter if it’s something she would have approved of!

    • H2olovngrl

I was gonna say a few of then look a little cliché (ish) to me. The Marilyn and the lips especially. I adore the camera and the little black book, though.

  • Chattygal

Most of them are a little too cute-sy but WANT that cat.

  • Loren S

If I owned one of these, I feel like ONE rhinestone would fall off and drive me nuts.

    • Vanessa Reyes

And it would be the one spot your eyes would find every time you look at your bag..lol

      • Loren S

And yet no one else would ever notice!

        • Vanessa Reyes

          Yes!!..LOL!

      • mdcoon127

Leiber offers repair if you send them the bag for a fee, when you are paying what these cost, it is worth to have them repaired.

    • Vegas Girl

My MIL gave me a JL lipstick holder a few years back and let me tell you – those suckers do fall off! Supposedly, JL will put them back on, but I haven’t taken it in yet.

  • Glam Dixie

I wonder if barn cats would wear sweater/beret sets? Love the cat, the rest are cute.

  • Qitkat

I’m fighting all y’all for that Cool Cat! But I’m afraid all the stones will end up rolling on the floor and causing a Bitter Kitten Katastrophe.

  • alyce1213

Who can say nay to #5 Cat and #9 Dog? Not I.
#16 Taxi is pretty cute, too, but why not yellow?

  • Constant Reader

Sort of a mixed bag (I crack myself up). Some come across to me as overly precious, but most of them could work with the right outfit and a sense of humor.

  • Alison

Not just YEA, but YAY, because these just make me happy.

  • Meri

Yea! And yay! Sparkly! I want the purple/blue one!

  • WaterGhost

Number three is lovely. The rest are for a kindergarten dress-up box. Reconstituted twee.

  • Vanessa Reyes

The newbie photog says YAY to #1 : )

  • librarygrrl64

Mostly NAY. I would never pay this much for kitsch.

  • Denise Rambo

I can’t imagine a day when Judith Leiber would be a NAY!

  • PinkyK

    Yeah! I think they’re great.

  • EzzyV

I want to see Taylor Swift carry around the Little Black Book bag to an awards ceremony.

There is so much whimsy here. I wish I had a place to take one of these bags.

    • demidaemon

HEE. She never would, though, and, if she did, she wouldn’t get the irony.

  • MilaXX

I like about half. My favorite is the Little Black Book.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

Gimme the cat one; if I’m going tacky, I want it turned up to 11.

  • sojourneryouth

I only want the beatnik cat, but I REALLY want the beatnik cat!!!

    • kimmeister

It’s cute, but I’d rather have an actual cat wearing shades and a beret. :-D

      • sojourneryouth

        Outta Sight! *finger snaps*

  • Zeee

Help me with #6? Is it just for a lipstick? I’m at a loss.

  • luludexter

Nay for most of it but I do like the camera one.

  • Ashleigh

OMG Yay yay yay! How fun?! (except maybe the dog)

  • GeoDiva

I like #9 with the shoes on it.

  • Maria

I am renovating my bathroom for the same cost as one of these little clutches.

  • Shelby

    Yay!

  • Debra Mandich

my two year old has a few just like these except we got them at the dollar store

  • LeelaST

A bit gaudy for me, but #3 matryoshka doll and #4 pussy cat are pretty cute!

  • frannyprof

Change that chihuahua to a Pug and I’m sold!

  • crash1212

God help me…I love them. I never thought I would say such a thing. Love them.

  • The Versatile Chef

Love the Leica one. Love. It.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

The camera and the cat in the beret are awesome.

  • Imasewsure

These are adorable but I still think clutches are stupid…. that being said… YAY to much of this (for someone else who likes tiny little purses without straps)

  • somebody blonde

They’re really cute, but how big are these? Some of them have to bigger than the objects they’re modeled after, and I think that kind of ruins those particular ones.

  • deech_sea

I still side with Carrie Bradshaw on these.

  • Nancer

Yay! Some of these are really fun – LOVE the lipstick purse!

  • HobbitGirl

They look like something you’d find at Claire’s, but I love shiny things. YAY.

  • Lori

Yea. I think the collection is mostly cute & fun, although there are several I wouldn’t want to have to carry around for any length of time.

    • not_Bridget

I don’t think you’re supposed to tote them around. You carry them from the limo to the gala (perhaps proceeding down a Red Carpet). Then let them perch on the table. Be careful with the champagne!

  • B_C_J

Whimsical, charming. & beautiful – yea!

  • Therese Bohn

I really like 1,5,10,&12! Incredible work on all of them.

  • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

    Oh yea, oh yea!

  • lilibetp

    I LOVE the camera!

  • http://kittysdrawings.com Esz

    THAT CAT. Omg.

  • GemFemme

The cat, little black book and camera are very clever.

  • Paula Pertile

    There’s a kitty!

  • Martha Anderson

Love the kitty, the blue and purple roses and the little black book

  • Ruby_Red

Mostly too literal, though I like the one with running paint.

  • Tee

Yay because the collection hits all ages. I’m not going to hate on the ones I don’t like that my mom would buy. And I was about to throw the clutch with pumps all over it under the bus. It’s done really well compared to tacky plastic ones with a similar design.

  • LilyVanessi

    12, 14 & 15. I’m done.

  • Cynica

I just love saying “minaudiere.” Can’t imagine actually carrying one of these, though.

  • WendyD

    Here Kitty Kitty!

  • imakeart

I like them all, but then I like arty purses. Really love the film canister and the running paint.

  • Evil Edie

I would pretty much cut someone for #4. They are all cute. The Marilyn stuff is a little trite. I’m just waiting for Marlene to be the next big thing in accessories… Wait. No. No I am not.

  • DDBROWNIE

Just fab!!! I love the animals, the book and the camera :D

  • marlie

I love a lot of these! I really want the camera one. And the dripping paint one.

  • Mothra

They are very pretty to look at.

  • demidaemon

These are cool, though I expect incredibly hard to pair with outfits. Tentative YEA.

  • Yoshio

Love these – especially the rose #13. YEA!

  • barbarienne

Started off great with the camera and film bags, then went south rapidly. Most are too twee, and I wish people would quit using Marilyn Monroe as a fashion commodity. FFS, she’s dead and can’t fight back. Have some respect.

  • ThaliaMenninger

The cat and the lips NEED TO BE MINE. NOW.

  • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

One of the only times I ever found myself agreeing with Carrie Bradshaw was on the subject of Judith Leiber minaudières.

  • Garcia Loca

YAY, but especially the cat! I’m the crazy cat lady who squeals when she sees the cat purse.

  • MaggieMae

Meh. These whimsical purses are fun to look at, here or in the store, but I don’t want to own one!

  • mlvc

Judith’s pieces are always lovely. But I own an expensive key chain of hers and have lost many crystals. Not sure the “bags” are worth it.

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I rather like the drips and the lips, and #12 (the purple/blue clutch) is really exquisite, but many of the others are just too representational for me. Yes, we all know what cameras look like. And lipsticks. And taxis. I also wonder, are there people (heirs?) who manage the estate of Marilyn Monroe? Why aren’t they more careful about how her image is used? The poor woman had a tortured life and now her face is used to seemingly indiscriminately hawk anything at all. Really, it beggars understanding.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1234087433 Jen Freeman

Yay! Fun and yet still glamorous. Love them.

  • ankali

    Ugh.

  • annrr

I loveevening purses esp. 3, 6 , 12 and 13 but back in the day they just needed to fit a credit card, lipstick , key and a maybe a tampon. But now you have to fit a phone so they need to be at least practical enough to fit a phone. They can still be tiny but the lipstick and film container, altho adorable are just not usable.

  • Chartreusite

The first two speak to me on a spiritual level, but I am a photographer so I might be a little biased!

  • Miss wks

    her shit’s AMAZING!

  • FuhUgh

I have never understood the appeal.

  • Robert Johnston

For the love of all that is good and Holy. No. These are tacky and hideous.

  • OffToSeeHim

Wantwantwantwantwantwantwantwantwant!!!!!!!!!! I suppose each one costs what I make in a month, right? And of course I have nowhere to go that a bag like that would be appropriate, but I still want them!!!

  • Innuendo

Beatnik cat! Instead of being in the purse, the chihuahua IS the purse. I can’t imagine actually using them, but they’re fun to look at.

  • MoHub

These look like a lot of fun, but I’m not sure whether any are very practical.

  • Kim Elmore

Yes Yes Yes!!! Camera purse please!

  • RescueMe23

I’ll take #3 please. You all can have the rest.

  • conniemd

Yea. They look like fun bags that my daughter would love to take clubbing. Love the cat bag (5), the Marilyn bag (8) and the shoes bag (10).

  • boweryboy

As stand alone art pieces, they’re fun. As functional pratical bags, they’re a NAY.

  • papillon

Nay. I really dislike rhinestones (and most shiny things) so this whole collection is just a big eyesore. And a lot of the designs just look kind of cheap to me. 12 and 14 aren’t bad but they look a bit matronly.

  • Linda Fields

    I like #5 best (lips)

  • formerlyAnon

Yea in theory. But while I feel that the right one could, none of these inspire lasting devotion.

  • FibonacciSequins

YAY. I wish I could afford that camera bag.

  • LibKat

Usually Leiber bags make me want to hock a kidney to get one. These are just meh.

  • Judy_J

I love the little black book, but some of these are just too cutesy for words.

  • Julie Ann

OMG. I just looked up the camera bag just for s*&$s and giggles to see how much it is. $5595!!!!! Honestly, It is ADORABLE but what purse could possibly be worth this amount of money? I know, most of you already know that they cost this much, but still!

  • Michelle Gennari

They are all SO interesting! But I love, love, love the chihuahua bag!! So adorable!!

  • DuBey2

So. I was already typing (in my head) out ” I’m tired of these cutesie teenie evening bags that are impractical & could really only be used a few times….” but then I saw the Cool cat # 5. So, never mind(in my best Gilda Radner voice) my rant… that cat is magnetically drawing my fingers towards it, through my laptop….

  • StrandedFashionista

I for one want to live in a world were starlets cary sparkly cameras and lipstick tubes on the red carpet. To teach the younger generation give Cate or Tilda one to cary ASAP.

  • mdcoon127

    Love them

  • AndieJay

A great big YAY from me. I want the chihuahua clutch real real bad.

  • Pat Garrett

    1. 2. 3. 7. 9 = love love love love love love love…..It’s a great body of work….but those are my real faves….and I’d really love to have the doggie. :)

  • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

They’re kind of cliche. I mean, Marilyn? Shoes? “Fun” sayings? I’ve seen it at Target. But I like #3 and 4 a lot.

  • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com cheekypinky

Love, Love, LOVE. These are the kind of bags that your grandchildren will be fighting over.

  • prisma

    I like.

  • amanda lynn

Numbers 1 and 2 are wonderful.

  • http://www.bethposts.blogspot.com/ Buffy

want! (how many young’uns are gonna know what the film canister is?)

  • kategs

I love these! and I want the occasion to use one…somehow grocery shopping ain’t gonna cut it!

  • Alloy Jane

I love how cheesy these are! If I was obscenely rich, I’d buy this campy shit. Esp the camera and the cat.

  • lalahartma

    Nopes.
