Those clutches and handbags are pretty freaking fabulous as is pump #3.

    • Kent Roby

I agree, and they also make me a little sad and nostalgic, considering the recent shooting death of Archie. Oh, um, “spoiler alert”, I guess, though it happened over a month ago!

      • NMMagpie

I was thinking of that, too. Archie is always going to be a part of my life; it’s the comic that got me into illustration in the first place. :)

        • Kent Roby

I grew up reading Archie comic books, too….it’s been many many years since I’ve bought a comic book, but hearing of his death last month on NPR really made me sad!

          • SaveFearow

I don’t think NPR was very clear on Archie’s death. He only died in a spin-off comic set in the future with adult versions of the cast (Archie was about 30 and married in that book.) His death and one year later remembrance story were the last issues in that continuity. Deliberately alt. continuity, as the series established from the start. It’s like being bummed Jughead’s a zombie in the Afterlife spin-off. Nobody really needs *spoilers* for that series either.

In the main Archie comics, both reprints and new magazines, he is still a teenager, still alive, and still happy. I’m more disappointed that so many news articles did not do their research and implied teen Archie was dead forever, no more new stories. Total false alarm, people. You can still buy Archie today if you really want to or just re-read an old comic.

Anyway I love the designs because I’m both a comic book nerd and a fashion nerd, and comics helped get me interested in fashion.

          • Kent Roby

It was redundant for you to say that you are a comic book nerd after that in-depth analysis! Thanks so much for the clarification! I did recall them (NPR) saying that Archie died in the grown-up “Life with Archie” series, hit by a bullet intended for his gay politician friend who was anti-gun, but they didn’t really make it clear that the regular comics (young Archie) are still being written. Thanks again! Incidentally, I now want to start getting Archie comics again; it’s time to re-visit some of the joy they brought me in childhood.

    • Kent Roby

such ambivalence! Ha, love your response (and the collection).

  • Rhonda Shore

    YES! Fun fun fun.

    • MilaXX

You avatar is kind of scary. I had to look twice to make sure it was just a regular clown and not Pennywise.

      • Rhonda Shore

It is a bit creepy…it was actually a picture of an old ceramic cookie jar! I find that looking at that picture next to FB comments makes them all a bit more comical. Will probs change it back to a snapshot of myself soon.

  • geans

Well now I’m just pressing my credit card against my monitor…

  • Skippymom1

I want every single pair of these, with the clutches. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. The heart shaped peep toe? ::faints::

  • Nikko Viquiera

That first Archie/Veronica dialogue makes me uncomfortable. But otherwise, shut up and take my money!

    • Kent Roby

Yeah, I feel like that clutch should come with a matching decoupaged rape whistle!

  • ChaCha_70

    Betty rules. Veronica drools

    • Bexxx

      Team Veronica. Bitches FOR LIFE

      • ChaCha_70

Guess we’re gonna have to be frenemies Bexxx.

  • Jessi03

I wore Wonder Woman decoupaged pumps for my wedding, not unlike some of the ones here. I’m all for this look.

    • Bexxx

That is amazing! With a standard white dress or what?

      • Jessi03

Thanks! I was originally looking at a bunch of colored dresses, but I ended up wearing a 70s(ish) style off-white dress with crocheted bell sleeves and an empire waist.

    • FibonacciSequins

      Love it!

    • Kent Roby

      That is fantastic!

  • TM

Whoa, #3 are pretty spectacular. If it was something I actually grew up with/had an attachment to (say Spider-Man?), nothing could keep me away.
(Does someone on Etsy or whatevs do this? They must.)

    • Jessi03

They do. I bought Wonder Woman ones from Custom by Kaylee on Etsy. They started peeling after a few wears, but nothing a little mod podge couldn’t fix. Have fun!

      • Grumpy Girl

The impressive thing is, since you said you wore them for your wedding, is that you had a few wears out of them. I think I wore my wedding shoes twice (rehearsal and wedding/reception). Mine were just plain off-white pumps–shows that the fun stuff does provide ample usage!

        • Jessi03

Sad day! I wear them all the time with jeans (unless, of course, it’s raining). I work at a pretty cool place right now, though, so I’ve even worn them to a few board meetings and conferences. Always gets lots of compliments!

      • TM

Oh gosh, that sounds awesome. I saw below that you wore them at your wedding? Um, that’s kind of beyond awesome.

        • Jessi03

          Thanks! 😀

      • Qitkat

        Ha, I jinxed myself!

    • MilaXX

Etsy does this in pretty much any fandom variation you could think of. Pinterest had tutorials on how you can do them yourself.

      • TM

Aw man how I wish I could Pinterest anything, but I completely lack any skills whatsoever. That said–I’ll def look into Etsy.

    • Danielle

I bought a variation on the flats above on Etsy for about $40. They’re out there!

      • TM

No way–that’s awesome. Could I ask what fandom flats?

        • Danielle

Mine are Archie comics, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t seriously look at a pair of Fantastic Four ones, too.

  • JLH

    3,7, and 9 please.

  • Kari B

    The ballet flats are adorable!

    • Jessi03

      Agreed! They’re my favorites!

    • Sam Smith

Agree, I think they work. Not sure about the rest.

  • Zeee

Yep. I’d wear pretty much all of these (except the yellow platforms, cuz I’m over them).

  • Anna

Oh, to be famous so I can be seen leaving the gym with an empty #8, and also wearing #9.

  • ♠♥zee♣♦

  • boweryboy

She’s a very one note designer, isn’t she? Too kitchy, but on the right gal some of these could be fab.

    • Kitten Mittons

I am that girl. Gimme gimme gimme.
Maybe I’m not, but I spent so much time reading Archie comics as a kid that I feel I need these in my life.

  • AlexisPayne

Love the bags, not so much with the shoes.

  • TinyDynamo

OH DUDE. I was all ready to dismiss them but now I’m not happy with my life until the flats (7) & larger clutch (8) are MINE!! SO EXCELLENT! SO MUCH YAY!

Also, Uncles, I for one really love & appreciate the numbering you’ve added to listings like these. Makes it easier to remember which items I’m selling my soul for. :)

  • Synnae

Adorable and wonderfully retro. Sadly Archie doesn’t do anything for me so I would very much welcome this with other comics.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

I have no nostalgia for Archie…DC and Marvel definitely, Scrooge McDuck of course, and probably Millie the Model…but not Archie.

  • International Model

No brainer. Also, when thinking if you are a Betty or a Veronica, the tie breaker for me is, “Would you ever consider being an international jewel thief?” If you answered yes, you may be a Veronica.

  • MilaXX

Eh’ it’s cute but there are a thousand tutorials on Pinterest about how to do this sort of thing so I can’t really see anybody shelling out the amount of money Charlotte Olympia versions cost.

  • Jen Freeman

Yay. Fun and cute. I may be influenced by last night’s veiwing of Josie and the Pussycats.

  • FibonacciSequins

YAY. I’d love to have one of those clutches up top. They’re reminiscent of those cool magazine clutches from the 70s. The shoes are kitschy fun. I loved Archie comics as a kid and still am very fond of the illustration style.

    • Danielle

My mom used to bring me an Archie comic home when I was sick, and she would send me some in my care packages at sleep-away camp. I have a lot of fond memories of the little notes she would write in Sharpie on the cover.

      • FibonacciSequins

That’s sweet. Archie is the only comic I would spend money on at the drugstore as a kid. I would have paid for Spiderman and Fantastic Four, but no need as my brothers bought those. :)

And then there’s Mad Magazine, but that’s an entirely different category.

      • alyce1213

My mom did that too. I loved Archie comics when I was sick.

  • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

  • Constant Reader

The bags are cute, but I’d want to pay Etsy prices for them, not $1500-ish a pop. The shoes aren’t my thing, but stye could be cute on the right girl with the right outfit.

  • crash1212

YAY! Love the clutches and #3 and #6 especially.

  • Kaonashi

The clutches are great (along with the black wedge shoe)!

  • torajima

I’ll take them all except for 5 and 10 but only because I can’t stand that style of shoe.

  • Judy_J

I’d take 3, 4, 7, and 9 if I had the money. I did read Archie comics during my growing up years, so the nostalgia factor is definitely strong.

  • Gatto Nero

  • ChiKat67

Big yes to all of this! Although my friends and I have been trying to figure out for months how to DYI our own comic platform wedges (just the wedge part).

    • Qitkat

I would think the wedges would be pretty easy. Some Mod Podge and careful trimming.

  • Alyssa

Big yea from me! I want #3 & 4, if anyone has some spare money laying around! 😉

  • Nancer

The bags, not so much – too literal. But the shoes are fun! Yes, please. :]

  • StrandedFashionista

    • decormaven

Yes- could easily do the clutch with some Mod Podge.

  • luludexter

Are they cute? yes. And I love a fun retro pop culture reference as much as the next person (actually more). But I’m getting a little weary of Charlotte Olympia’s schtick…

  • alyce1213

I have a real soft spot for Archie comics so YEA!
Nancy & Sluggo, Little Lulu next.

  • Hoffa_w_HerHead

    Paging Katy Perry!

  • Shelby

I’m a bit too young to be swayed by Archie nostalgia, but I love the flats (and love that there are flats in the collection).

  • Qitkat

Maybe shoe #6. A little comic goes a very long way.

  • AmeliaEve

    Totes adorbs!

  • Lisalady161

Oh, these are just pure fun.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Most of this is my kind of kitsch. If only I had the Lodge megabucks.

  • Nicole

Yea (until I find out how much each of these cute novelty items actually costs)

  • NurseEllen

These are clearly for the “too much money and too much closet space” crowd. Usually I love CO stuff but this is falling with an audible thud. NAY.

  • lalahartma

Hell no. I am an adult.

  • Sharon Weiner

    OMG I want some!

  • kimmeister

As someone who has named, ahem, certain body parts Betty and Veronica, you’d think I’d love these. However, I just like the flats, #8, and #11.

  • Mooky1230

Very cute but if I had the money to afford them, I would buy a million things first.

  • Gaby

They look like things sold at conventions. I’m unimpressed, especially knowing what the prices will be,

  • Sherilyne Cox

I want to be buried in those black platforms so that I can wear them forever!

  • Guest

A resounding YEA! Especially the bags.

  • conniemd

Yea, though I don’t usually like such themed stuff. But these are fun nostalgic.

  • PinkyK

Yea. But a little goes a long way with a print such as this.

  • Dan_In_NYC

I could quibble here and there on most of these items, but I grew up reading Archie. So if I saw a lady rocking any of these, I would definitely smile. That would make them a YEA.

  • Lorelei_D

YES to the bags. No to the shoes.

  • marlie

Fun and kitschy, but i think Katy Perry may be the only lady star to pull any if this off without looking like a dork.

  • Martha Anderson

The purses are great fun and the little ballet flats too. Most anyone could have fun with those

the rest is a no go for me.

  • Pterodactyl111

    #3 are my favorite!!

  • ashtangajunkie

I still love Archie so this is a big YEA for me!

  • Yoshio

I’m definitely in the minority here but these do nothing for me at all so a big NAY. No fond memories or cultural references to endear these to me so they are just ugly.

  • Shannon

Gimme 7 and 8! Typical styles but the patterns make me nostalgic and happy.

  • Haley Buchanan

Adorable. #4 and #9 are my favorites, but I’d wear any of these if given the right outfit and occasion. What a fun, stylish collection!

  • Nika E

    Yay! Especially the clutches.

  • AndieJay

Woo to the hoo! Total love for all of it.

  • evave2

These are such fun fun shoes Nota: I don’t like the pedestals on #12 but then I hate all pedestal shoes.

The rest are fun and fabulous. Having fun again, what an idea whose TIME HAS COME.

  • demidaemon

Why am I so disturbed by these? I think I am going to have to say NAY, just for the icky I am getting from some of the text.

    • kittentoes

      That’s how I feel.

      • demidaemon

Thank you. I thought I was the only one!

  • ktr33

    3, 4, 7, and a milkshake please.

  • Innuendo

I like the bags a lot. The shoes are cute, but remind me a little of when my sister was into decoupage.

  • OffToSeeHim

    Comic-printed pumps????? Mineminemineminemineminemine!!!!!

  • LibKat

They are just fucking with us now.

  • MarandaGodbolteam

  • Bad Idea Jeans

I’m about 50/50. I love the use of newsprint-style comics on the shoes. But the styles themselves are mostly horrifying to me. I think this would work much better on a pair of hi-top Converse. Same with the handbags. I’d take some, but leave most.

  • Crystal

I waaaaant those ballet flats now. Love it all, but those are what I would wear.

  • Freynika

I like everything except the #5 wedge. That’s just overboard. I don’t like wedges in general, but that one is especially ugly. I like all the other shoes, though. I can take or leave the bags. I’ve been making similar decoupage bags for years, so it’s kind of old hat to me.

  • Therese Bohn

    I want 1, 4, 7, & 8

Love vintage B&V — wish there were more flats and a few 1-2 inch heels. (We mature ladies can’t wear huge wedges or those awful hoof shoes!)

  • FifiDubois

Do you even need to ask? Hell to the Yea!

  • Radish

    The flats are super cute.

  • JynxTheCat

Poor Archie. Dead saving his gay buddy!

  • Toongrrl

    Awesome : )
