A little short for a sit down, but for some reason, I do not hate overall. Is this a sign of the apocalypse?

      • BayTampaBay

Don’t hate it it either but the dress needs to be 3 to 4 inches longer. On second look, I really like the print.

        • kim bunchalastnames

at her age, with a dress this chic, i’d go as short as i could, too. she looks like she has legs for DAYS.

          • Vtg Fashion Library

Exactly what I thought, almost verbatim. Great minds…..

      • hyperionic

She wears a lot of not awful things so I don’t see why this is different.

      • Nikko Viquiera

I think she’s starting to wear us down with so many apperances. Like, “Fine Tswift. I’ll stop complaining about you and your tweeness. I give up. You win.”

        • marlie

This isn’t so saccharine sweet twee that it gives me a toothache, so this is more than fine with me.

        • demidaemon

Pretty much where I am at.

      • MM4321

        1. Did she ever end up looking at Jimmy at ALL? Someone can’t get enough audience adoration. . . .

        2. The bangs were cute. Now it’s time for them to go. Bye-bye.

        3. The “something nice” part: those legs!

        • alyce1213

          1. Yes she did. (You really can’t judge from a couple of stills, which were picked because she’s looking toward the camera.)

    • Thomas

That dress is a little short for sitting down. She looks like she’s ready for her gynecology exam.

    • http://wardrobemalfunctioned.tumblr.com Yaysita

Is it me, or is something off about her makeup?
I like the dress and shoes, tho.

      • MilaXX

They had to do a rush job during the commercial break since she was in that Ew! skit with Jimmy first.

      • Kristi Mitchell

I think her eyes look a little heavy, which isn’t a good look since they are on the smaller side anyway. and the shadows from the bangs doesn’t help either. I wish she’d go back to her naturally curly hair. Much cuter.

        • barbarienne

I don’t know about her curly hair, but at least it wasn’t bland!

I don’t like this version, for sure. I mean, she has really good hair, but this cut is kind of aging and definitely boring.

          • http://wardrobemalfunctioned.tumblr.com Yaysita

I think my biggest issue with the hair is the blah colour it is now. It just doesn’t complement her, especially now that she’s gone all tanorexic. Orange skin and dirty blonde hair does not a pretty pair make.

      • TheDivineMissAnn

Those shoes are killuh! And the makeup is sort of….if there is a Taylor Swift doll, that is what the face would look like. Manufactured.

        Too much makeup maybe?

    • MilaXX

Cute look, but that skirt is not a good talk show skirt. That hand at the crouch is to cover the good china. She’s got legs for days and this would have looked just as good if it was lengthen to the knee. It’s still gonna ride up when she sits, but no one would have to worry about seeing bits we shouldn’t.

      • DaringMiss

Love your use of the phrase “good china”! My girls and I have been using it since Peach uttered it on Project Runway all those years ago. And given teenage clothing these past few years, we have used it enough to plate an entire State Dinner!

    • lbl

She looks like Karlie Kloss in that first shot.

      • Thomas

That’s funny because I’m pretty sure they’re friends.

        • fursa_saida

They just moved in together, I think. They may be merging.

          • Thomas

I don’t get the hype around Karlie Kloss. Both her and Taylor are very tall, but I find them both rather bland looking, nothing special.

    • Jeremiah Capacillo

Eye-catching dress, although it’s way too short for a sit-down interview. I liked the shoes at first glance, but when she sits down it throws off the proportions and just makes her feet look gigantic. Hair’s too middle school yearbook photo and the makeup’s unremarkable.

    • Sam Smith

I actually normally like most of her looks. This is striking as well, and while too short since she normally leans twee maybe short is good.

    • NBG

The shoes are excessive but the dress itself is cute, Did she have them make a dress out of the separate pieces?

    • ConnieBV

Bangs are a bit long and the omission of her eyebrows changes her face. Flaunt those stems, girl.

      • Kitten Mittons

I’d like a couple more inches on the dress since she’s sitting down, and the hair bugs a bit, but I love the dress. I’m glad she’s not baring her midriff like the model, and her legs look amazing. Overall, a good showing.

    • SewingSiren

I thought that whole photo rose thing played out a few years ago. And her hair looks wiggy.

    • KT

Her hair looks cute like that. But she is the definition of basic.

    • JauntyJohn

I’m not a fan, but I have to give credit where due:
Posture, poise… smart enough to feature her best asset — those legs are a thousand miles of golden perfection in that skirt with those shoes.
And she never looks like she’s working too hard — which to my mind is the hallmark of a real pro.

    • Shia i

“I haven’t watched TV since Miley Cyrus twerked” Lol. I’m not a huge fan of Swift but she did make me laugh a few times.

      As for her dress, Pretty.

    • carrie

Dear Taylor Swift, please do not bring feathered bangs back. Otherwise you look like a gazelle and make me wish I was 22 again. Super cute outfit. Love, Carrie

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Agree with all the BKs that this dress is “length challenged” (i.e., too short). I’ve also never understood why Tay has such a predilection for ridiculously high heels since she’s already almost 6′ tall….not that she should be denied the fun of a super high heel, but if I were her height I’d save them for on stage (of course!) and very special red carpets (Oscars, Met Gala level). Otherwise they make her look disproportionate, IMO. Not impressed with the hairdo, either. Does this look fake to anyone else besides me?

Her legs are so toned & terrific….maybe she really *has* been working out before those “leaving the gym” shots!

      • Jacob Bowen

My comment was going to be “Her hair looks SO WIGGY!” so I’m glad you are in agreement!

    • AlisonHendryx

Can someone please talk to her about her self-tanner problems? Her legs have been so streaky for days/weeks.

      • kimmeister

That is what stood out to me too.

    • kmk05

She looks striking when walking. The short hem and the strappy shoes with the platform just elongate her legs something fierce, and the hair looks really breezy in that first pic.

Sitting down, it all goes downhill: the hair is not soft enough (too much Elnett, dear), and that hem becomes too short.

    • http://instagram.com/nevareese International Model

Those sandals. Can we talk about how beautiful those Prada sandals are and how wasted they are on the giant?

    • Anna

Am I going crazy or do I see a sliver of midriff skin and it’s really a crop top/high-waisted skirt on the model version? Or is it a nude belt?

Taylor’s bangs remind me of what mine look like after I’ve been wearing a beret or other close-fitting hat over them in the winter, not good.

      • James

No, it does have a window on the model and I think you may be able to see it on Swifty too, in the last photo.

      • Kitten Mittons

Yeah, I think it’s a top and skirt. When I looked at the photos on my phone, it looked like she’d had alterations done to make it a dress, which I liked better. On a bigger screen, I can see the little strip of skin. To her credit, it looks like she’s trying to keep the midriff-ness to a minimum

        • Anna

Yes, the full on crop top she’s sported a few times wouldn’t have been the greatest look for a sit-down appearance, especially considering how short the dress is to begin with.

    • James

I love those shoes and her legs look a mile long. The dress needs to be a couple of inches longer as she’s sitting down but it’s cute. I don’t like the hair though.

    • queeniethebold

Once i again i look at this person, who bores me to tears, and i’m reminded of how much i wish the uncles would do a post about the celebrity and fashion of the late Lauren Bacall. Looking at photos of her from the mid-40s, when she was barely 20 … breathtaking.

      • Violentcello

A fashion retrospective on Lauren Bacall would be lovely.

        • queeniethebold

Wouldn’t it just, though? And the uncles would do the most spectacularicious job of it.

And talk about “celebrity.” We toss around the word “icon” all too easily, i think. But Lauren Bacall? She was the real deal.

    • stubbornthoughts

Why does her hair look like she’s the new Kathy Lee Gifford? You’re not 40 and you don’t have a morning talk show, Tay.

      • demidaemon

        Yet. Fear it.

    • hughman

She would make a great Jack Skellington from “Nightmare Before Christmas”.

    • IAmJ

She bugs me to no end but girl got legs.

    • ThaliaMenninger

Instead of dressing like Nicole Kidman, she’s doing a Heidi Klum. When will Taylor Swift start dressing like Taylor Sift?

    • Andrea

For what it’s worth, the most prominent Swiftie theories about Taylor’s upcoming album have been that it’ll be titled “Roses”, that it’ll have a black and white theme, or that it’ll be based around New York City (e.g. called “Skyline”). So for Taylor to wear a black and white, rose-covered dress called “City of Roses” while sitting in front of a model of the NYC skyline is just her doing some major trolling. And for that I give her props, even if I’m not sure how I feel about the dress itself.

    • Kristi Mitchell

Say what you want about it – it’s certainly not ‘twee’ at all, right?

    • frannyprof

WHY CAN’T SHE FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH HER HAIR?

    • Constant Reader

I really like the outfit and shoes. The skirt is short, but she’s young and has gorgeous legs. I can’t hate.

The hair, on the other hand, I can and do hate. What drunk stylist told her that Dorothy Hamill’s bangs are back in style?

      • amanda siegelson

everything about this. the hair is awful – cut and colour. i don’t know why her hair person hates her so, but it’s obvious they do.

    • Sarah

She should give that hair back to Tom Petty and start over.

      • Chartreusite

Her hair’s starting to really age her, especially with her style. Those two in conjunction read country club to me and not in a good way.

    • Garcia Loca

I had no idea Prada made stripper shoes.

    • nannypoo

I think she looks great. And I’m glad she decided to skip that hideous red lipstick she’s been wearing.

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

Bonus points for excellent posture! Maybe that’s why she always carries around empty bags — doesn’t want to throw off her spine. That dress suits her beautifully, although needs an inch or two more length for sitting.

      • LJCdoc

I think she has to have excellent posture sitting in that dress, or she’ll give the audience a REAL show.

        • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

True! So bonus points plus the thanks of a grateful nation

    • cocohall

She’s a puzzle, no? She was quite good in the little EW skit with Fallon, looked good walking out in this dress, and then sat down and was so overly delighted with herself and the PR tease for her next album, that all my goodwill for her evaporated on the spot. Even Fallon looked genuinely irritated, and getting him to act like anything but a hyper golden retriever puppy is pretty hard. Bless Andrew Rannell who ever-so-sweetly skewered her pretentious behavior when he came out.

    • boweryboy

That’s not a tv inteview sitting down dress. The shoes are too heavy for the look. It’s refreshing she’s not wearing her go to red lipstick. She looks good. Yet she still irks me.

    • halleygee

I like this look on her, but that hair has got to go, it looks like yearbook photo hair.

    • http://fibonaccisequins.storenvy.com/ Danielle

MAN that is some wiggy-looking hair. Her legs are killah though.

    • Lee

It so strange seeing her somewhere besides “leaving the gym”

    • OffToSeeHim

      Awesome shoes!!

    • Caaro3

Proportions seem off. Heads too big. Feets too big.

      • CatLady

        She’s like a Bratz doll.

    • FibonacciSequins

That is absolutely something I would have worn at her age (minus the stripper heels). Too short for a sit-down interview, though. She needs a bang trim and something about her makeup is giving a chipmunk effect.

    • formerlyAnon

Minus the fondness, I am beginning to feel about her as I do about “Cathy Cambridge.” She’s been working SO hard for SO long at being good at what she does (public appearances as well as performing) that it slips into looking seamless. She strikes me as driven to an unhealthy degree, and without the charisma to completely pull off what she’s been trying to since tweenhood (rule the cute pop/not-quite-country world), but she comes pretty close.

I think this looks great, albeit too short.

    • Imasewsure

Cute dress (add two inches to the length and it’s even better). In the same vein, take two inches off of the heels and we have something there as well.

    • Crystal

FIRE YOUR HAIR GAYS, TAYLOR. OR GET YOUR OLD ONES BACK.

Short hair can be a nice look for you but this is bad. This is mullet-y. This is 70′s but not in a Farrah way, in a guy-from-a-sitcom-wearing-a-powder-blue-suit way.

      • semirose

You should find the pics of her doing Seth Meyers (or watch it tonight) they taped it right after this and the hair transformation is significant.

    • crash1212

Love it. The whole thing. Love. It. Well…maybe shoulda deployed her seemingly signature red lip.

    • marlie

The dress is cute enough, and it’s short but not so short that I’m afraid of seeing her ass when she sits down. BUT… she didn’t need heels that high, with a dress that short, for a sit-down, considering how tall she is and how long her legs are. But still, the dress works for her.

But can someone, PLEASE help her with her hair?

    • Lily

      1. Overall great look.
      2. She’s still annoying.
      3. Why does she always have toe creep?

    • Melissa Brogan

Minnie Mouse shoes when she’s sitting plus the dress is way too short for a sit-down appearance. And she has overdone it on the spray tan. Otherwise it’s pretty cute.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

I think all tallettes should wear the tallest heels they can find whenever they feel like it.

If they feel self conscious about it, then find some seven foot tall drag queens to hang around, they’ll have your back.

    • ashtangajunkie

Cute dress! But to quote a big favourite around here,”Your hair is already such a disaster that the Red Cross wouldn’t give it coffee.”

    • Judy_J

She always looks as if she’s posing for a Revlon ad.

    • alyce1213

Well, she looks smashing. I love the skirt & blouse and I even like the (dreaded) platforms with it. She’s handling the short skirt like a pro.
I really don’t have a problem with her hair this way. Glad she went with pink lipstick for a change.

    • kim bunchalastnames

plus, love the high-class call girl shoes. i know it’s just me, but i am over the whole bootie-style shoe with dresses. it just bisects the leg at one of the worst possible places, imo, resulting in stubbification. (p.s. i know: the shoes have an ankle strap that do essentially the same thing. but since there’s so much foot to show below the line of demarcation, it doesn’t have the same effect.)

    • sojo

The bangs look so much better here. And I’m loving this outfit, those shoes!

    • Miss Atomic

Her bangs have got to go. They are starting to look helmet-y and super heavy — not in a good way.

    • Coco Chanel

I like that it’s classy without going old lady or slutty

    • http://tvblogster.blogspot.com Boop

Eh…I guess I’ll give her this one. She looks good.

    • semirose

I love it and I kind of want that print in shorts. Or a maxi skirt.

But no pic of her Ew! segment? Now that was a classy look.

    • willworktomorrow

I like the look and love the shoes. But really, stop with the side eye. You need a new face angle, please.

    • imspinningaround

      Gwen DeMarco hair.

    • demidaemon

It’s cute. Probably too short. Still bugs.

    • Adrianna Grężak

She looks like Gretchen from Real Housewives of OC

    • Laylalola

If she’s going to go this 1970s with her hair she really should just feather it and at least be in on the joke.

    • evave2

Every time I see Taylor Swift I get a vibe that says “I am vapid.” I like the dress, agree it is too short for a sit down (the lower part of the upper thigh would have been better) but I hate the shoes.

Also does her makeup make anyone else think her whole eye-ball is black? Is her entire eyelid black or is it just me squinting too hard?

    • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

God, GOD, remember when she was almost Cosette?

    • AMartel

The hair is looking very helmetty. Gorgeous dress on her.

    • Shelby

I have no real opinions on Taylor Swift. I don’t listen to her music, but when it comes on the radio, it doesn’t bug. I’ve never read or seen an interview with her, so I defer to better educated kittens on that score. This is an introduction only to say that person, personality, and talent aside: she really does look like a Barbie doll in these images. And it’s an image that makes me a bit uncomfortable.

    • JynxTheCat

      Someone pie her face please.

    • MyFavoriteColorIsGlitter

Gotta (reluctantly) give it to Tay Tay on this one. She looks hot.

    • Tess Tea

My first thought was Jessica Savitch news anchor hair 1977.

    • heuristicvalue

For someone who tries to portray such a wholesome image, she sure does love herself some stripper heels.

    • anotherkate

What is she hawking? Is she in a movie or something? I didn’t think she had a new album out. Dress is very cute, although I will always think 7-inch heels with a skirt that short looks like hookertown. I do like the shoes on their own, though. Makeup is not ideal, hair needs a new color. Who knows, maybe one day soon we’ll see shots of her leaving a salon instead of “the gym.”

    • MannahattaMamma

She’s joined the SJP school of eyeliner: her eyes look like dark holes in her face. And is it me, or are her legs an entirely different color from her face? Did the spray tan gun misfire?

    • Amel

      Marsha Brady in stripper heels.

    • Winterlight

Very good! It’s a little outside her usual, it photographs well and it isn’t cluttered.

    • ktr33

Those are Dita Von Tees shoes which she would rock hard in a knee-length pencil skirt. Girl here can’t carry it off, and esp not with that dress. Mismatch.

    • https://plus.google.com/+FrankLithiumz/posts Frank Lithium

The shoes are a bit much, but otherwise she looks great.
