Poor dear. Dull as dishwater in her style choices as usual.
I love this dress on her. The shoes could be more interesting and the hair and makeup aren’t so hot, but this is a personal best for her.
Still 20 dressing like she’s 40. GTNYD! send it to Cameron Diaz.
I agree, but this is the best she has looked in awhile This would be rocking on Cameron DIaz
Looks just like the model, except she has on hair brushed with an egg beater.
Yeah, exactly like the model, which is why she probably doesn’t look terrible as usual
The dress needs to be a tad shorter but the real issue is the hair. Not sure what she did to her hairdresser to deserve this but it must have been pretty bad.
she tries SO HARD. bless her.
And she’s gets SO CLOSE, but just never really sticks the landing.
I think it would like fine with more interesting shoes and/or some jewelry. The dress is interesting but still basic. It needs some punch.
I don’t know why but I feel some turquoise or green-ish addition could have worked. Maybe instead of the white belt?
Her hair looks like an askew wig. Woulda gone for shoes with more pizzazz. Overall it looks pretty boring, and could have been very much not boring.
The hair really ruins it. I kind of like the dress and it’s sporty enough to work without any jewelry, but the shoes were a definite thud. Silver pumps or yellow or…something, anything to give it some life would have been great.
Great dress on her. Styling’s meh, and hair & makeup’s just plain shitty. She needs Kate Bosworth’s makeup artist from her In Style shoot stat.
Roland Mouret seems like the perfect designer to create a collab collection with Banana Republic!!
Is that shade because I love Roland Mouret lol
Not at all!! I love Roland Mouret too, and I think his streamlined Euro-chic aesthetic melds really well with Banana Republic’s classic basics.
I really like the dress, but it went totally boring on her. Also, change your hair stylist, girlie.
My thoughts exactly. Fun and cool on the model, completely boring on her.
I really think she needs a complete hair makeover, and, even though I am not for extensions, I think she could really use them at this point.
Looks like she and Elisabeth Moss share hairstylists.
The dress is cute, but the hair is just offensive as usual.
Nice dress, but it belongs to Jennifer Aniston.
but then it would have to be beige.
It wouldn’t have to be beige. It could be solid black.
I like this dress on her, she looks better in it than the model. I would like a more interesting shoe. It’s much better than the dippy outfits she usually wears, definitely a style step up. I will never like that hairdo. I get the idea of it, but not the appeal.
Girl. This hair length is NEVER going to work for you. Give. It. Up. Would love to see her in her natural hair color too.
I don’t even know what her natural hair color is.
That’s actually a pretty great dress, but the hair, as usual, is offensively bad.
Could have used a bolder lip.. The hair could use a deep condition, and maybe a new dye job, as this seems so washed out.
The dress, however, is chic. The look is sophisticated and she put the effort in.
Every time I see her I think of the line from Steel Magnolias about being “carved out of cream cheese”.
And her brother, too.
This is pretty cute for her… she usually goes soooo wrong. Hair is weird but not too bad. Like the dress… one thumb up!!
I quite like this dress. If i had a chance of pulling off a one-strap bra, I’d buy it.
So mission accomplished, Banana. You had a star look great in your clothes, and now I want to buy them. Good work.
My mother once ill-advisedly bought a fainting couch. It was ugly but she believed could just get it re-upholstered and it would look great as the structure was good. When it came back, it still didn’t look good, despite the good foundation.
Julianne Hough is a lot like that fainting couch – good structure and can be re-upholstered, but she never looks right.
Is she still a thing?
Her team REALLY tried to make her happen… dated Ryan Seacrest, ‘Footloose’ remake, etc. I don’t think it worked.
I thought she went away after the Seacrest “breakup’. I have never even watched an episode of Dancing With Stars, which my MIL informed me was where she came from, so I never go the appeal to begin with… Did that Footloose remake actually happen?!? I remember discussions but I swear I never saw it at the theaters and I go a bit.
She and her brother shared a People cover in the last couple of months; the stylist got it right for once with hair in that shot. Didn’t bother to read the article closely; something about their childhood/teen years, being shipped off to London for dancing opportunities.
She’s a good dancer and was one of the better professionals on Dancing with the Stars. The Footloose remake came and went quickly in fall of 2011. She played the female lead, and I can’t remember who was in the Kevin Bacon role because I didn’t see it.
Cute girl, cute dress, but da-yum that’s some “Rollin’ into Wal-Mart to pick up toilet paper” hair.
Man that hair looks FRIED. Her do’s are so often don’ts.
The dress fits her nicely, but it’s not very adventurous for someone her age. Of course I haven’t seen the collection, so this may be as good as it gets.
The dress is cute enough, but I’m wondering why she’s actually there.
What is up with her hair???? Hasn’t she heard enough “comments” to realize how AWFUL it looks???? Fire your gays girl…if you HAVE any.
Well. She’s not wearing the clothes or wig of a middle aged woman trying to recapture her youth and her skin has moved from tangerine colored to almost human-colored, so it’s a start.
Dress could be shorter, but I love the way it plays off her athletic physique. I do not understand why she can’t have a flattering hairstyle.
I really thought this was Meg Ryan.
She has Meg’s “messy” hair, for sure.
I think Meg’s was better, always.
Beach hair! Or, hair for the beach!
That weed wacker hair needs to go….
That’s Vicki Beckham’s dress, and she’s got at least a decade and four(?) kids on you. She would show more leg, too.
she looks good, for a change..
I like the dress, but she must have stuck her head in a straw bale on the way to the event.
The dress is OK. Can’t stand the hair.
It’s a cute dress and fits well but it’s really boring. Sad to say.
Yay! One of her best looks!
Is it ironic to have her and Uzo Aduba featured on the same day? Meanwhile, Ms Hough is another one of those “celebs” I just irrationally despise. Well, I guess after the blackface thing it’s not completely irrational.
Minority Report here: i think she looks great — it’s a dress shape that looks good on her, her makeup looks good, and I even like the hair. OK, I might quibble that the color is a tad too ashy, but otherwise I’m fine with it. I like the length of it with her face, and as someone with wavy hair that is neither straight nor curly I appreciate working with the texture you have instead of hot ironing or hot curling it to be something else.
The dress makes me sleepy. Or maybe I’m already dreaming, but I can’t stop yawning.
Julianne: whoever did your eyebrows, get them to do them all the time. They look great.
This I like, which is unusual. Generally she irks the hell out of me, but the dress looks good on her, the hair is getting better, and the EYEBROWS don’t look like Andy Rooney and Groucho Marx had a baby.
How is it that she has taken a perfectly fine dress and made it look weird?
Also, her hair continues to be terrible.
She looks terrific. Her body is a little curvier than the model and she looks even better (not that the model looks bad, she looks good but unreal the way a model does). I love the fluffy hair, it doesn’t look really done but I still love it.
I think the shoes could’ve been more assertive (low heeled it looks like to me); I don’t know what color would’ve popped here. The black shoe look too quiet. (Boy I am using words that mean something to me, and I am not sure anybody understands what I am saying. Sorry if anybody reading get a “huh” out of this.)
Tube sock with a rubber band around the middle.
