Cute! Except for the silly putty platform pumps and the eyeshadow application. Has she lost weight? She disappears from the side.

    • MartyBellerMask

I was about to say, somebody’s been working out. Check out those calves! (But avoid looking at the shoes.)

  • Imasewsure

She is so cute but i don’t understand the belt on a caftan style dress like this… also putty pumps? I don’t get it…. still such a cutie though…the shark picture is everything…:)

  • TinyDynamo

The dress is cute, the shoes SUCK, and the hair & makeup look very 7th grade. She’s so pretty, she totally deserves better than this.

  • Kitten Mittons

Love the dress, and love me some turquoise jewelry.

  • wisenhar

The fabric of the dress looks like waterbed sheets. There, I said it.

  • imspinningaround

Great jewelry can’t save a dress that does nothing for her figure and unfortunate shoes.

    • evave2

I had a bad reaction to the dress (I think it makes her bosom look wonky, and can’t decide if the dress makes her bosom look wonky or it’s the best that makes her bosom look wonky) and was surprised to read so many liking the dress.

However, the shoes seriously confuse me.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

She looks so cute, but the shoes ruin it.

  • GeoDiva

    Really cute dress…..tragic shoes!

  • PastryGoddess

    That dress…THOSE SHOES

  • Synnae

I love the dress but not on her. It is one of those dresses that needs to be worn by a tall person (5’10” and up) because of length, print and design.
It is not doing much for her, and the horrible platform pumps are not helping her case one bit.
    Nice jewelery and hair though…

    • teensmom99

I think she’s wearing the platform pumps because they realized the dress was too long. Of course, they should have seen that it was just too big and was the wrong style of dress and should have done anything other than those shoes.

      • Synnae

Of course that is why she is wearing them as do many women on the red carpet if a dress is not altered. You can tell because the dress just won’t fit right.

        • teensmom99

Oh I’m so slow on the uptake. That’s why they all wear the putty platform pumps–in theory they go with everything so you can wear an unaltered dress. Why has it taken me so long to figure that out? Thank you.

    • smallgirlsaretrouble

Agreed – the dress is sitting differently on Jenna than on the model, like the front panel is skewed. Could be movement vs still photo, but I still don’t think the fit is right on Jenna.

  • Anna

Scrolldown slit-fug. I was onboard until I got to the slit. Also, even with the ridiculous shoes, still in need of a hem.

    Love the jewelry though.

  • The shoes are tragic. But this is the best she’s looked in a while. And am I the only one that thought she went with a bit of a clever theme with the dress?

  • Kent Roby

I like the idea of the dress, but since she’s not an 11-foot-tall stick figure the blocking of the pattern seems to really mess with her proportions. Also, the lining looks really cheap, and I preferred the pattern edging on the model’s dress.

    • Anna

The lining is reminding me of a “vintage slip.” But the kind you find at Value Village.

      • Kent Roby

Sometimes it takes a Value Village to help a starlet get ready for an event!

    • Qitkat

Me too. This scale of the pattern really works best on the model. It’s a cute dress that needs to be scaled down for those of us shorter non-stick figures. The pattern edging on the model’s dress is one of those tiny details that takes the dress to a higher level.

      • Synnae

Just to be clear, this dress just requires you to be tall (5.9 or over), you don’t actually have to be a stick. I’m 6’2″ and I look great in maxi dresses whether I am a size 10 or a size 24. I have been both and I have concluded maxi dresses work on tall girls period.

        • Qitkat

I agree about maxi dresses working mostly better on tall women, like anything else there are exceptions. What I was trying to say, but not too successfully, was that this scale of pattern seemed a bit overwhelming on Jenna, not so much on the model.

  • Aidan B

Better shoes and this would’ve been KILLA.

  • Glam Dixie

Eye makeup looks a little under-done, the dress is meh but still looks pretty cute on her, shoes are fug. Ah Glee, remember when it used to be good?

  • She looks cute but I’m not a fan of the slit.

  • Noah

  • ashtangajunkie

I think she looks 90% pretty. The 10% is of unpretty can be 100% attributed to her ugly shoes.

  • SewingSiren

If I was going to be posing with a giant stuffed shark , I think this is the dress I’d wear. The jewels are a nice call back too.

  • alyce1213

Amazing how a “spring” dress is really a summer dress. I like it, but it’s too much for her. Maybe cut off at the kneecap, no slit? With a nice sandal?
    She looks good, though.

  • boweryboy

Cute dress. Too bad she doesn’t have the stature to pull it off. And no to the coy leg in the air posing. Just no. Also, I will not speak of the shoes.

    • FibonacciSequins

      • boweryboy

If the dress were shortened to just above the knee it would work for her and her height. As it is, nuh-uh.

  • Tee

The shark was styled correctly and is wearing black shoes.

  • marlie

This was all working for me until we got to the feet. For SHAME, stylists. I’m really feeling the turquoise jewelry, though.

  • J.W.

What is an Oceana’s SeaChange Summer Party?

    • Anna

Good question. Whenever I see the event name, I think of canned tuna.

      • J.W.

        I rather like the ‘mascot’.

  • Mothra

what is it with feet tattoos? Ug.

  • MilaXX

I was really loving this until she turned around and once again proved that this is the summer of the #ShoeFail.

    • decormaven

Ugliest shoes ever this summer. Such a pity.

  • Guavaberry

Love the accessories and the overall appropriateness of the look, see Lea Michelle, this is how you do it. Also, it has nothing to do with the outfit but I feel like I have to address the issue of Jenna not being showcased as much as she could’ve in Glee. Her voice is beautiful but yet I can only think of one or two times where it was properly showcased, I think even minor characters had more quality screen time than she did and she was always fantastic. Did Ryan Murphy simply don’t like her that much?

    • demidaemon

I don’t think it was that he didn’t like her, but he was simply more enamored of Lea Michele (see also: Barbara Streisand).

      • Guavaberry

But man, so many episodes and the only time Tina even got a solo it was singing Korean!

        • demidaemon

Oh, she definitely should have gotten more focus. I would be a totally different writer for that show for myriad reasons.

    • Man Dala

Her character disappeared without explanation after the graduation, which was so bad since she was one of the original Glee members in the pilot. This show is shit.

      • Guavaberry

I stopped watching around the time that Rachel got the Funny Girl role and Finn died. To hear that it even makes it more awful.

  • KendraMR

I love the dress on the model, but it looks sloppy on Jenna. And who’s turrible idea was it to pair putty platforms with a summer maxi dress?! Just tragic.

  • what not

Kinda Flintstones but appropriate for the event, and she always looks like a genuinely joyful person. Good for her.

  • NBG

The shoes need to die and be replaced with a fun sandal. And that dress needs to be hemmed. She’s adorable though.

  • Killer Bees

Poor Tribtoos. It never gets any love on this site. And although I would’ve paired a strappier shoe to this breezy dress, I must confess my love for this shoe. They’re comfier than people think.

    • marlie

I think the bigger issue here is that they’re usually deployed (on celebrities, with stylists’ input) in the totally wrong circumstances. As in here.

  • Janet B

I like the Summer vibe of the turquoise jewelry

  • There was a moment of panic when I realized the bridal party I am to be part of in September chose that. shoe. as the bridesmaid shoe.I think we’ve gone in a different direction, but I remain fearful…

    • marlie

Not this *exact* shoe I hope.

      • Patent leather nude platform. I nearly sent a link to the comments over here, but the bride is stressing out and I already had one honest fashion moment with her (no cummerbunds for the ladies). I hope I didn’t waste it.

        • Synnae

Poor you. Is there at least some sort of the excuse that all the brides maids are 5 feet and all the grooms men 6 feet tall? That is probably the only excuse I can imagine for putting everybody in such fug shoes…

          • No such luck. The tallest party is the bride – I think the men are on the short side, which is why the shoe got changed to something not. that. shoe.

          • Synnae

Now that I hear all the men are short I am suddenly all for heels- just to throw the wedding pictures off a bit (I’m 6’2″ myself so I like playing with the perceived conceptions of height)

        • MartyBellerMask

Cummerbunds were on the menu?? Whoa. You’re a good friend.

        • marlie

OK, at least she wasn’t suggesting that you buy $800 shoes. 😮

          • I can’t believe that someone with a soul could sell those shoes for that much.

          • Synnae

That I can totally believe – just look in my closet- but I would never make somebody buy such expensive shoes just because I am having a special day…

        • understateddiva

I admire your restraint in only having one come-to-Jesus talk – cummerbunds sound like a wiser battle to pick.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

Hair, face, and jewelry are great; the dress less so.

  • hughman

I wonder if that’s the same shark “Glee” jumped over several seasons ago.

  • Denise Rambo

Those shoes do not go with that dress.

    • decormaven

Those shoes do not go with anything. They should march directly to the discard pile.

  • MartyBellerMask

Why couldn’t Leo get his picture taken with a shark mascot?? Oh yeah, because he’s got zero sense of humor.

  • crash1212

    Those shoes. THOSE shoes? Seriously.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I’d love it if it weren’t for the clodhopper shoes.

  • Gatto Nero

The dress is fine, and the jewelry and hair are suitably beachy, but she should lose the hooves.

  • Maluca

She took something absolutely adorable and punched it in the throat with those nasty shoes. So close, yet so far.

  • Pound of Salt

    No into the matching jewelry.

  • WaterGhost

I think the grungy, off-white colour on the dress is terrible. The faded black doesn’t help. But really, it doesn’t matter – with that smile, she could wear anything.

  • frannyprof

    Ugh. Those shoes.

  • demidaemon

It’s not terrible, but I despise the shoes.

    • livesarah

I think ‘despise’ is a bit mild, but my vocabulary fails me.

  • SoAnnaPropriate

Scroll down fug. Like the dress, though.

  • Raf

    That is a million-dollar smile.

  • holla

shoes are too heavy for such a breezy dress

  • Ugh… really?

  • livesarah

NO to the shoes! No no no! Just ruined everything for me!

  • Coco Chanel

    No beige shoes nooooo

  • ktr33

I guess she got posing lessons from her fellow-Gleek, Ms. Lea.

  • JynxTheCat

    She looks great.

  • musi_

almost cried when i saw the shoes.
