Did they really position the “stand here” tape mark in front of a light fixture? Air vent, mirror? Really. What is that?
And why? Amateur move…
Looks like one of those things you put dirty feminine products in next to the toilet.
Looks like they photographed people on the way to the ladies room. Dakota and Kate Mara are wearing the same shoes.
Maybe that’s why she looks like that, “Hurry up, I’ve gotta pee!”.
good catch! And I hate them.
No one should wear those shoes! But that is exactly her dress.
Except for the hair and the deer in the headlights look on her face I don’t hate this. It’s in her favorite color wheelhouse (bland) but it has some colorful embellishments, the clutch is cute and the shoes are interesting. It would all be better in a pretty color but we have to take what we can get with this one.
You are in complete agreement with me; or I with you. ??
I think it is a cute cute dress. The first shot I did not recognize her at all. I think I’ve been seeing Elle too much lately and Dakota’s looks just threw me off.
I’d buy this dress for my daughter in a minute.
I wish the fabric wasn’t so shiny, the beading is amazing.
That first photograph is unfortunate, poor thing.
I like the embellishment on this, but it seems to be the wrong fabric for the dress. And it’s way too shapeless to be flattering.
If only the hair were properly styled. I do like the clutch, and the embellishments on the dress are fairly restrained.
She’s wearing the same shoes as Kate Mara and now I REALLY want them!! (I can’t help it…I sometimes really like hooker heels…it’s a character flaw, I know, but I’m not ashamed.)
You have no reason to be ashamed. Sometimes a gal just needs a good pair of “f***-me” shoes.
I thought she was wearing the same dress as Kate, too, at first.
i dont love the shoes, but i love your love of hooker heels 😉
I hear you, but those are hooker heels by way of Miss Piggy. I can’t tell if that effect is due to the platform, the rhinestones, or the nude suede.
Never be ashamed! The reason that strippers and hookers wear them is that they tend to be comfortable. Take that, Manolo!
Cute dress, bad shoes, needs color
fussy, stiff, bland
go up a size
Not bad, though her posing still needs some work.
A whole lotta nothing with some cute embellishments at the bottom, and a nice clutch.
The photographer really doesn’t like her. Horrid shoes, cute dress – for someone else. The green embellishments aren’t enough contrast.
If only the dress were green instead of the clutch…
Although I question if the green would work with that awful yellow hair
Good question. Would love to see her with a soft honey blonde, or a very light brown.
Seriously, in that first look she almost appears to be recoiling in terror.
With the shoes and bag she’s a little too bedazzled for me…and I never thought I’d say that about Dakota Fanning.
Cute enough dress, though it’s pulling across the hips a bit. I like the clutch and I don’t mind the shoes, but, just like Kirsten Dunst, Dakota needs to rethink the yellow-blonde hair.
Dakota looks young and cute in this dress. I wish the clutch and shoes were a little simpler and more elegant (and the hips on the dress fit a little better), but overall, I like it.
I think she looks fresh and cute. Probably too embellished, but you can at that age, get it out of your system and not end up like Mariah Carey.
I’m not feeling her hair, but I do like the overall look.
This event looks really low budget.
Love the dress and clutch but I think the color washes her out completely– wrong dress for her. This dress would look awesome with someone that had a darker complexion. Why do the Fanning girls love to drain their faces of color?! Also, the shoes are god awful– so ugly!
are you fuckin kidding me with those….SHOES?? They look like the cut-off hooves of a satyr embellished with dog collars….
Kata Mara has on the same ones! They must have been handing them out at the door.
I like this. She’s the right age to wear a dress that’s basically a straight shift. The embellishments are cute without being too much. I know we all complain about her wearing light colors, but at least this isn’t the same color as her skin.
I don’t particularly care for the shoes–I think the spikes around the ankles are an embellishment too far. The clutch is cute but its bedazzling is tacky compared to the dress’s bedazzling. She should have gone for a simpler clutch.
Makeup ok (if shiny), hair is the wrong color for her skin tone, but I don’t mind the style.
This is one of those frocks where you simply can’t sit down in but I like it. The shoes are terrible and the clutch is all kinds of awesome.
This is a very cute dress pretty much ruined by hooker shoes.
HORRID lighting. Why?!
Wow is that first photo bad. I winced for her.
Cute dress/bag, ugly shoes, bad hair.
I thought her purse was a circuit board.
Love this dress and purse! So young and fun. i think she and Kate Mara are wearing the same (hideous) shoes.
Clutch is adorable, shoes are heinous.
Didn’t Kate Mara have on these same shoes in her latest TLo post.
Dakota needs help with her hair and makeup. Cute dress. The shoes don’t go but at least they’re not the ubiquitous Jane sandals.
These shoes look no better on her than they did on Kate Mara — unflattering, uncomfortable-looking hooves. In silly-putty suede, no less
I really do not like those shoes! So heavy for such a summery dress.
The dress is lovely. The shoes are way too heavy & clunky. The hair & makeup need a rethink.
I Love this dress! Super cute!
Some pony is missing his lovely embellished hooves!
1. Brush your sad yellow hair.
2. When your dress is bejeweled and your stylist thinks your shoes AND your clutch should be, too, run.
3. Take off this dress and give it to Kiernan Shipka. You’re fucking it up.
Head to toe too shiny.
This would look awesome on a woman of color. The shoes are too much.
so i guess beaded housecoats are a trend? huh.
Every time I see Dakota or Elle I cringe at the way the yellow hair and pink skin tone clash! I am from a family of natural blondes and this atrocious combination is unnatural. Those of us with the more yellow hair have a golden skin tone and the super fair/pink ladies have no golden/honey tones in their hair whatsoever ever.
I hate her head.
I mean, her face is really cute. That hair color, and the utter flatness and deadness of it are awful. Her makeup? Again, awful.
Dressing without a color? Sadly bleaching her out even more.
She could be so adorable! And this look just makes me angry.
I was too distracted by her head to even notice the beaded pillow case on the first look over.
I want to like this dress, because I like a narrow shift, but it’s reminding me of my grandmother’s satin pillow cases. Also her hair looks sad. I don’t think that color is doing either Fanning any favors. It’s a harsh shade for most people to pull off.
SATIN PILLOW CASES!
My Aunt Bethel used to make those. I miss her.
Oatmeal should never be anyone’s signature color.
Terrible photos, cute dress. Would have liked a thin belt or a necklace maybe? Anything to take away from the pillowcase effect.
she’s very pretty, but looks tired
Cute girl, pretty dress, but it looks like someone shoved her in front of a camera without any warning (no lipstick, her pose looks odd). These pics are a little unfair to her.
Terrible photos of her. Dress is cute, but the lighting or the fabric or both in combination make it look too stiff, here. Possibly it is too stiff a fabric. Don’t love the hair color or style or the shoes.
After a brief flirtation with color, she returns to form and the land of the bland. I wonder why she can’t see how washed out these sorts of hues make her.
There may be a dress that needs those shoes, but this one aint it.
What the hell happened to her face?!?!?!?!?!
Just so much wrong on such a pretty girl. Bad hair color (consider going natural, dear), terrible make-up, bad dress color and horrible shoes.
Her hair is awful. But I like the dress! yes, it does remind me of grandma’s satin throw pillows, it has a real retro vibe in style and fabric. Rather refreshing. Hair, though……
LAME. NEEDS MAKE-UP.
I bet the little beads around the hem feel really weird/annoying when she walks.
Ugh. GTNYD. And burn those hideous shoes
Very Goldie Hawn, Jr.
Usually the bland washes her out, but I think it’s working for her here. Really love the beading of the dress.
I expected a cat to jump through the pet door.
