Zendaya Coleman in Emanuel Ungaro

Posted on July 02, 2014

Gotta give this girl credit. She can switch up her look, as evidenced by the other two getups she wore out this week.

It’s cute in a “I think this is how you’re supposed to dress for a book launch” way. But that’s one tricky-ass skirt that really needs a belt to pull the look together. As it is, it feels a little unfinished. Killer shoes, though. And the hair and makeup are very pretty. She’s definitely been putting herself out there in a more aggressive way lately ever since she dropped out of that Aaliyah biopic.

      THOSE SHOES, I DIE. :)

      • KinoEye

I know, right?! They’re so perfect. I am notoriously difficult to please when it comes to shoes — if those were even remotely in my price range, they would be mine!

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

This would be a good rival stewardess outfit for Virgin.

      • OffToSeeHim

Dude, oh my God, RIGHT??? I was trying to think of something snappy that referenced the Virgin Airlines thing, thanks for saving me the trouble. Because if that isn’t “Flight Attendant Chic” I don’t know what is!

      • livesarah

Exactly what I thought when I saw it. “Welcome to Ungaro Airways”… It’s not bad, for a flint attendant uniform.

    • decormaven

Props to her MUA. Perfect dewy look.

      • MilaXX

Because it’s a fine line between dewey and greasy.

    • RussellH88

It really does nee a belt to break up all that pink. But I really like this. It’s a perfect marriage of both preppy and sporty.

    • TinyDynamo

That dress is for Cate Blanchet. But she looks appropriate & grown up. Hair & makeup are gorgeous! And those shoes are fantastic.

    • sugarkane105

Another watch! Glad they appear to be back in style on women.

      • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

I’m such a watches lady (prefarably, men’s watches). I’m glad when I see a woman celeb wearing one (and not because it’s for a watches event, either).

    • Mothra

Interesting look. She looks like she’s wearing what women soccer players might wear if they had to wear skirts. I kind of like it. It looks comfy but I am not ready for shoulder pads to come back.

      • Loren S

And the earrings look like little soccer balls too!

    • Gatto Nero

Pairing those shoes with that tee was brilliant.
But those are some epic shoulder pads.

    • James

Shoulder pads! Brilliant shoes though and I love the hair/make up. What a pretty young lady.

    • Danielle

Are those SHOULDER PADS I SEE?!

      • http://sleepingfoxstitchery.weebly.com CLoverleaf

Dear gods it’s a glorified tshirt with giant shoulder pads. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

        • Clash D

Hated it at first sight. Shoes are on point though.

    • decormaven

Where was this taken, in the judge’s chamber? And for Pete’s sake, press flack, dress up the stand for the book poster. That thing looks like it’s going to display Exhibit A in the trial for “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree”.

    • Noah

      That fabric gives me angst.

    • MilaXX

Cute look. I don’t even mind the lack of a belt. I think the sort of slouchy vibe is intentional and fits her personality.

      • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

Pretty much. Especially since her street style is tomboy-ish.

    • kimmeister

Hey, there’s that Emanuel Ungaro model again. She looks likely cheerier here than in yesterday’s blue getup.

I’m glad Zendaya’s not wearing hoops again. I do love the shoes and wish I could pull them off.

    • Wink

She is only 17. Why is she wearing her mom’s clothes?

    • Anna

From the killer shoes up, this looks like something Rose Nylund wore when she coached that football team.

Pretty girl though, skin and brows are ON POINT.

    • SistaT

She’s a baby. Why is she dressed like a 50-year-old woman?

    • hughman

      Channeling FLOTUS.

“PUT DOWN THE CAKE AND CANDY!”

    • tresfabuleux

      Those brows are LIFE!!!

    • Shawn EH

Really enjoy her preppy, sporty vibe. What does Nina always say? “And it looks expensive!” Her biggest compliment, and Zendaya would get it.

    • R.A.

This girl is hell-bent on making the a-list.

    • FibonacciSequins

That skirt looks so cheap, with all its bagging and wrinkling. Shoes are great.

      • Mr. J.

So true….yet kittens are so concerned with that pin. Sometimes I do not understand.

    • ThaliaMenninger

There’s kind of a Star Trek waitress look to the top and skirt, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. I kind of love the whole thing together. In a Star Trek sort of way.

    • Mona_Visa

I want to lick those gorgeous Saint Laurents. They look like candy.

      • jilly_d

Totally! Ribbon candy – you nailed it.

    • Diane_G

Why in the world would one need such deep pockets in a skirt? I feel like it throws the whole thing off..

    • another_laura

It’s too 80s shoulder pads and mauve for me, sorry. I do love how the shoes reference the collar.

    • marlie

Her hair and makeup are prefect. Very pretty. I hate the dress/outfit, though. It reads as too uniform-y to me.

    • KT

Ahhh, much better. I really like this look. It’s a nice blend of the other two looks we saw her in — feminine + sporty, without going too far in either direction.

    • mjude

      what is with the pin?

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

That brooch is wasted on that horrible shirt. Her face is so pretty though – that deserves better than the horrible shirt too.

    • Cyprienne Zed

The more I see of her, the more bummed I am that she won’t be doing that Aaliyah biopic — a match made in casting heaven.

    • NinjaCate

She’s so cute. She’s the only current Disney star whose career I’m at all interested in.

    • Shoelover1512

      I’m pretty sure I NEED those shoes…

    • melanie0866

She is just so pretty. I know that’s not very insightful or anything, but it’s all I could think when I looked at her pictures.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

She looks comfy, stylish, and a little edgy. The shoes were a great choice. I actually like this without the belt because, although it might look a bit more pulled-together with one, she’s quite young and it looks a bit more natural to her without it.

    • alyce1213

It’s a little “mature” for her, but props for switching it up.
The shoes . . . THE SHOES are to die for. Nice that they pick up on the striped collar.

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

The seaming on skirt is just weird and unflattering….

    • Judih1

Love the shoes, but the clothes remind me of a flight attendant outfit

      • Mr. J.

That skirt!–it’s been a looooong flight.

    • quiltrx

The top’s okay but that skirt is way too involved and heavy-looking. Those shoes are EVERYTHING and her whole head looks terrific.

    • demidaemon

She looks adorable. No quibbles here.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

The skirt is a bit tricky, but she still looks pulled together-love the color and the shoes

    • Yoshio

She is lovely. On the other hand, the outfit looks like tennis or golf kit gone wrong.

    • jilly_d

I want to steal that brooch and run away. Also, if I had to choose someone whose skin to steal in a Buffalo Bill-type scheme to make myself a suit of flesh, I choose her. Put the lotion in the basket, Zendaya.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

She looks way cuter than that outfit warrants.

    • formerlyAnon

I do not like these clothes, but she sure makes them look as good as they possibly could.

    • Tami from Seattle

Love the look except the pin needs to be placed a little higher and the skirt needs to be pressed.

    • MarissaLG

Shoes and makeup are the only cute part of this look, IMO. Her hair looks fried and weird and the rest of the outfit just doesn’t make any sense. A sporty collar and an ugly flower pin? Why? And shoulder pads? Not on you, honey.

    • http://birdybegins.blogspot.co.uk/ Eleanorjane

I think she looks brilliant – relaxed and real but classy and super-pretty at the same time. Dressed appropriately for a reasonably casual event.

    • siriuslover

Yes, the belt would have helped a bit, but she looks amazing head to toe.

    • Ali2044

Those clothes are just so…saggy and ill-fitting. Like they’re a size too big. She’s beautiful and the shoes are killer though.

    • alliekat9090

A really dfficult dress to wear sucessfully -and I really think she has managed to do that. Try to imagine someone like JLo in this – a disaster.

    • alliekat9090

Wow that model certainly looks highly pissed off, doesnt she?

    • torajima

She sells that dress waaay better than the model.
