I can’t even get past the horror of her face to critique that lace monstrosity.

ETA: Scary Spice’s makeup job is lookin scary!

    • colleenjanel

I don’t think it’s the makeup. The lighting (as we saw in Heidi’s post) is horrific.

      • Thomas

        Yeah, I just realized that.

      • Grumpy Girl

I was wondering, if the makeup was done in prep for the TV show and/or stage appearance, rather than the daylight or whatever this stage is? Cause as you pointed out, it’s certainly creating Day of the Living Dead scariness.

  • Elisabeth Ashley

I’m not a huge fan of this on her, it’s cute but she needs something a bit more edgy, and the length and proportions aren’t working at all for me.

  • Rhonda Shore

My problem is the length, i know a lot of dresses this season have been too long, but this is too short and looks silly.

    • imspinningaround

The little girl peepee dance pose isn’t helping.

      • Rhonda Shore

        ha ha ha…

  • Sad Spice 🙁

  • Karen Belgrad

    It’s a lace girdle.

  • teensmom99

This looked much better in the thumbnail but enlarged the lace looks cheap and the fit is off. I’m loving the Valentino crochets but this lace looks cheap (I said it again).

  • HeisenbergHattie

*gag* Mel, sweetie. What’s going on? Are you trying to hide a neck hickey? – Love, Auntie Hattie

  • Janet B

Waist too high, skirt to short. Lighting is horrible.

    • Thomas

Maybe it’s the lighting that’s making her face look bad to me.

      • Janet B

After Heidi, Mel kinda seals the deal for me.

  • MartyBellerMask

This is awful and she knows it. 🙁

  • Samantha Klein

    Too short.

  • Emily Giovanni

thought 1: if she got rid of the collar part, it would be great.
thought 2: that is a weird juxtaposition with the twee dress and the “I will literally claw out your eyeballs” nails.
thought 3: why are those scary nails so trendy right now? they are terrible.

    • Grumpy Girl

Agree completely on the nails. They give me the heebeejeebees.

  • Kathy Marlow

    GIRL, NO

  • conniemd

I think the fit is off as well. The skirt lining is almost to the lace bottom on the model. On Mel, there are a few inches of lace only and the lining barely covers her hoohah.

  • Anna

All that I want from you is a promise you’ll burn this dress.

      • Anna

        Viva (Vevo) Forever!

  • RussellH88

Mel B is blind, as far as the eye can see.

  • Capt. Renault

On the bright side, I think this would burn fairly easily.

    • Glam Dixie

Burn it and scatter the ashes.

  • Glam Dixie

Way too short and little girly. She looks awkward and uncomfortable, which says it all and on top of that the lighting is sooo bad she looks greenish. bleh

  • Wink

This is not your dress, darling. Send it to Carrie Underwood and go back to bed.

  • Denise Rambo

That dress is TOO short for her!

  • Is this *definitely* a dress and not one of Agent Provocateur’s boudoir items?

  • Schoolmarm Spice.

  • mjude

    way too short.

  • Constant Reader

Cocktail waitress at a Marriott piano bar.

  • Jaeda Laurez

I don’t like her makeup at all. But if she’s sitting at a judging table, where you couldn’t see the bottom half of it, I think the top looks really cute.

  • Tracy_Flick

I imagine there’s a huge walk-in closet in the Playboy Mansion filled with stuff like this. It’s so tacky, it’s almost an insult to women everywhere.

  • Gatto Nero

Tacky-ass lace, weird proportions, waist hits too high, too damn short. The spiky lashes and pointy nails look lethal.

  • Ozski

As distressing as this sounds, Howard Stern, of all the hosts, was the one person who was best-dressed on AGT last night! You should really post some pics of the King of All Media.

  • Heather

She needs to dial it back on the makeup, it’s freaking me out.

  • nannypoo

    All bad.

  • How her stylist thought an engenue look this Valentino would work on full busted , curvey woman like B is BEYOND comprehension! It just baffles the hell out of me…

  • gabbilevy

Give her yellow (or pink) pumps and she’ll have hit ALL of this summer’s trends.

  • Dino Bonačić

Too booby. Put this on Kiernan Shipka or Saoirse Ronan and call it a day.

  • KT

    • Cheryl

    • didgerdoni

There seems to have been a proliferation of Colonel Sanders looks lately or maybe it’s just that one is too many and two is a proliferation. Is it so hard to realize that a black ribbon tied around the neck is always going to call back to 11 secret herbs and spices?

      • KT

No you’re right — this is the third or fourth Colonel Sanders look in the last couple of days. Haha so true. Why would anyone want to resemble the poster child for obesity?

      • formerlyAnon

one is too many and two is a proliferation

Oh, god, I’m smiling so hard. Fair warning: if I get a chance to use it I’m totally stealing this.

  • Cheryl

I think you have to weigh 83 pounds to look good in this dress. I think Mel B, has a fantastic body, but this dress is doing her no favours, whatsoever. What is the deal with pointy nails? I’ve been seeing it more frequently, IRL as well as on the interwebs. I’m not hating, in fact I like it way better than the big long square nails, just wondering where it started.

    • MilaXX

      the latest nail trend.

  • MoHub

At best, that is a Fanning dress.

  • marlie

Mel, this is NOT your dress. It belongs to Elle Fanning or Kiernan Shipka.

    • MilaXX

My thoughts exactly! This dress is too young for her.

  • frannyprof

Girl, That’s Not Your Dress. Pack it up and send it to Chloe Moretz or a Fanning sister.

  • Lori

If the Valentino that Chloe Moretz wore the other day illustrated how good lace dresses can be and why designers keep trying to do them, this Valentino illustrates why they mostly shouldn’t.

    • demidaemon

It is even more illustrative because they came form the same designer. How is this even possible?

      • Lori

Apparently the fashion gods move in mysterious ways. Totally weird.

        • demidaemon

          They do indeed.

  • uprightcitizen

Once I scrolled down, I forgot about the dress. What has happened to her tortured ankles and feet? There are shapes, bulges and bones down there I’ve never seen before. Some women can abuse their feet in a lifetime of heels and they still look pretty, but that looks so painful. She should stick to boots (which would have looked better with that child’s dress anyway).

  • Dreamwr8tr

Is it really the lighting? Mel B’s makeup reminds me of my face every time I put on a lot of makeup; I feel like I have ten thousand pores and they are all visible. She looks uncomfortable and pissed.

  • Imasewsure

This is a great dress for a toddler

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

I just realized something. I have never heard of a gay picking Scary as their favorite spice girl. I have friends who picked Baby, Ginger, and a few even picked Sporty. But I don’t know any gays who ally themselves with Scary.

Not to toot my own horn, but I picked Posh at the very beginning. I knew.

  • KinoEye

That model looks like she wants to punch me in the face. Repeatedly. Yeesh, talk about terrible lighting.

  • spirit52

Shes too damn old for this dress

    • Cheryl

Kiernan Shipka is too old for this dress….

  • PinkyK

It’s a cute dress but reads waaaaay too young for her. Just because you can wear it does NOT mean you should!

  • kimmeister

Did her MUA forget to do her eyebrows entirely? They are waaaaay too light.

  • Fugly ass dress. It looks more like Forever 21 than Valentino.

  • Jeremiah Capacillo

Fuck this, you do NOT infantilize Scary Spice.

  • TinyDynamo

That is Kiernan Shipka’s dress – please give it back to her STAT!

    • Nika E

  • quiltrx

Girl that is NOT your dress.
Also falling victim to the makeup/lighting combo.

  • Beardslee

It’s too young for her and the age appropriate model looks as though she should take her courage in both hands and try to think positive thoughts. Both bad deployments of a just okay dress.

  • EEKstl

  • MilaXX

Oy! the picture made it to the top trending box and I just noticed you can see her weave tracks.

    • FibonacciSequins

Can you enlighten me? I know what a weave is, but what and where are weave tracks in her hair?

      • MilaXX

Weave hair comes in many varieties. Some are on strips of hair similar to how a false lash is attached to a strip. These are typically used in sewn in weaves. If done correctly you shouldn’t be able to see them, but if you look closely to the center part of her hair, on the right side towards the back you can see the weave track.

        • FibonacciSequins

Thanks, I see what you’re talking about now.

  • Jackie4g

Since she is no longer a teenager, she does not have a teenager’s knees. At a certain point in time, a person should be realistic about wrinkly knees…..pantyhose would help enormously, but it’s July, so they would also be very uncomfortable. It’s not only the shape of the leg, there’s a texture of the skin that changes after 35 or so. Age appropriate is not a bad thing. The present culture doesn’t seem to allow it. Not Mel’s fault, she probably doesn’t “see” her knees.

  • somebody blonde

The proportions here are kind of weird.

  • FibonacciSequins

There’s an odd juxtaposition here. Her dress is junior, but her makeup and hair are…mature? Severe? Conservative?

    • LJCdoc

      • FibonacciSequins

lol. So she’s a junior senior here. Very confusing.

  • Man that dress is so twee and juvenile. Mel B has never come across as either of those things. Classic case of Not Her Dress. Is she dressing up as Victoria Beckham for a joke?

  • Crystal

    NO, Scary Spice. Stop this.

  • crash1212

Girl, that is not your dress.

  • suzq

    I don’t even recognize her.

  • kim bunchalastnames

it doesn’t really matter how fit you are: after a certain age, skirts THIS short are obnoxiously desperate. nothing makes someone look older than the obvious fear of aging.

  • Julie Parr

  • cocohall

She was on the VIew this morning in a similar buttoned up blouse and long leather pencil skirt. She looked incredible. This is a cute dress, but maybe for someone at the Young Hollywood Awards. It just doesn’t suit her.

  • demidaemon

The combined effect of lighting, dress, make-up, and stance is HORRIBLE.

  • Anglow

Mel B !!!!! Have not seen you since you and Maks danced the hot Paso Doblo on DWTS. Thanks for that, it will live forever in my YouTube files!

  • livesarah

It’s a horrible dress and she is only making it worse by bringing it out to see the light of day.

  • evave2

I think the dress was designed for someone who was really unbosomed. It does not look right on Mel B.

  • Judih1

This is just all kinds of wrong. Too short, too dowdy and twee at the same time – too not in her wheelhouse.

  • Man Dala

Her face looks awful. Is she jetlagged after a flight around the world one way and back?

  • What’s wrong with her makeup!!?

  • Garcia Loca

Mel, no. You’re too good for this. And tell your makeup artist that it’s 2014; they have makeup lines for dark skin tones now.
