That dress should only be worn when finger painting.

      • DebbieLovesShoes

THAT’s what I’m looking at! Nailed it.

    • skitzfiggitous

This dress worked better when it was one of my parents’ pillow shams in the ’80s.

    • CaseyinNY

      That’s not a dress, that’s a pillowcase with sleeves.

      • kimmeister

I would say it’s more like a window valance, since there’s already a slot into which a curtain rod can be slid in the back!

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Why?? Why was this dress ever made? why would someone pick it for her to wear? why would she wear it? The most shapeless, unflattering thing I’ve seen in quite a while.

      • Kiltdntiltd

That thing is not only horribly unflattering, but so very badly made. Off with it, now!

      • mshesterp

And I love her and only want good things for her, so this makes me doubly upset.

        • Kent Roby

She and her husband must have so much fun together (I’m reminding myself so I don’t feel as bad for her for wearing this mess).

    • NMMagpie

It’s a mistake, all of it.

    • Glam Dixie

She HAD to have been able to find something more flattering than this horrid satin sack. Is she pregnant? I don’t read gossip rags so have no clue. I have loved her ever since I saw the video of her bawling over the sloth. Jessica McClintock made this dress in the 80’s/90’s and it was bad then too.

      • Kitten Mittons

She and her husband were on “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” a couple years back, and they talked about the sloth video. It was huh-larious, and they sounded adorable together. I don’t think they won the game, but they were very entertaining.

      • Rhonda Shore

        She has to be pregnant.

      • Katie Nesser

she is pregnant with her second! still an unflattering dress, though her face is stunning

        • MoHub

If the white were a proper yoke, it might have been slightly better.

      • Bad Idea Jeans

This is a patented “Is she pregnant?” dress. If your initial reaction is not “Is she pregnant?” you’re doing it wrong. (Incidentally, I have no idea if she is pregnant, but if this were a maternity dress it wouldn’t seem so bad.

        • demidaemon

I don’t know. Even as a maternity dress, i think it is kind of horrible. Pregnant women deserve better than this.

          • Bad Idea Jeans

Yes, I admit that the back of this dress, and the hemline, are truly horrible. It looks poorly made.

    • Mothra

Is it clipped in the back with clothes pins? She’s not pregnant is she? Even if she is, this is a terrible look.

      • Scimommy

She is pregnant, but there are many, many better maternity dresses out there. Like, almost all of them.

        • Mothra

I think you could fit three Kristin Bells in that dress and still have to clip it in the back with clothespins or binder clips. It is truly awful. Maybe she lost a bet.

          • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

I’m a gay man so maybe I am just ignorant about female anatomy… but doesn’t the pregnancy stuff happen on the front?

            • Kitten Mittons

I just dribbled coffee down my shirt. Thanks for the laugh, anyway.

            • AnguaVonUberwald

You’d be surprised. I looked like the letter S from the side when I was pregnant. That said, this dress is horrid.

            • Violentcello

Maybe she put it on backwards?

        • SewingSiren

Exactly almost any maternity dress would be better. I think all these lady stars take a perverse pleasure and pride in the fact that they did not wear maternity till the _____month or ever (I’m thinking of the poor girl wearing the orange some weeks ago). When they would be much better off looks and comfort wise just getting a damn dress cut for their body.

          • Danielle

Yep. I have cuter maternity dresses from Target.

        • demidaemon

I said the same exact thing!

    • anneshirley

Someone should be fired over this. Maybe several someones.

    • kayleymaybe

I forgot she was pregnant until I saw this dress. That can be the only excuse (and it’s not even a good enough one) for wearing that tent.

    • Coleen

Look, I like a muumuu as much as the next pregnant lady, but sometimes you have to suck it up and wear something with a shape.

    • knockknockknockpenny

Hair and makeup look fresh…. Dress is a fancy shapeless potato sack. Feet look like they are screaming. At least her clutch is cute….

      • Kitten Mittons

I feel like we’ve seen that clutch making the rounds.

Of course, every time I see Kristen with a clutch, I feel the need to know if there’s a burrito in it. Now that she’s pregnant again, she HAS to have some type of foodstuffs in there, right?

I’m thinking a few fun-size Milky Ways, some peanut butter crackers, and probably a fiber bar (you ladies know).

    • WendyD

    • Dagney

      slow clap

    • Laura Renee

“Today is my day of atonement for my distasteful comments in favor of restrictive gender roles. I will parade onto the red carpet wearing the most hideous, yet shiniest, sack imaginable, paired with the most painful pair of putty shoes to be found.”

      • demidaemon

        This made me laugh! :)

    • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

she’s pregnant…when I was pregnant this is exactly what I would have wanted to wear b/c when you are pregnant no fucks are given

      • Jeff Warhurst

Which is why when you’re a star you pay people to give your fucks for you.

    • gitchygitchymama

      rick owens in color(block).

    • Jackie4g

Billowing for no apparent reason. Edited to add – I should have scrolled down to see the pregnancy comments. Still, this is a bad silhouette for everyone, including pregnant women.

    • Dagney

actually, if the hair was even mildly styled and she had a better shoe, this would not be half bad.

      • Lindsay McCarthy

It’s not half bad now. It’s all bad.

    • Tess Danesi

So the back of the dress is designed to look as though a gust of wind hit it and got trapped underneath it? Why? Hate, hate, hate this.

    • AlisonHendryx

      Her …. makeup ….. looks …. great…. ?

    • Rottenwood

Veronica Mars and the Case Of The Shitty Dress.

    • Anna

    • Gatto Nero

Bland from the front, billowing craziness in the back.

    • bassfemme

This is just horrendous. It seriously looks unfinished, like they forgot to take out the pins. Because if it was finished, they forgot to steam it.

    • Mothra

OH OH OH. I know what it reminds me of. A barrel. The kind that cartoon characters wear when they get poor and have no clothes, and they wear a barrel with suspender straps.

    • SewingSiren

I actually like the silhouette of the dress on the model. It’s an modern version of the Watteau back gown of the 18th century. I think it is the exact wrong silhouette to camouflage early pregnancy though. Also super pointy stilettos wrong and double wrong in silly putty hue.

    • mjude

    • JulieK

That is a cute girl in a hideous dress.

    • Anapestic

Maybe she’s not that far along, but I feel like pregnant women should get to wear a lower heel. The dress is … unfortunate, but she looks really happy in most of the shots.

    • KiP07

Not only is the dress unflattering (and fairly ugly), but it’s also made from the kind of fabric that only looks crisp if you never sit down. Her only hope, and rather slim one at that, was to go to the event in a horse-trailer so she could stand up the whole ride.

    • Janet B

Good looking dresses take no more effort to put on than ugly ones.

(Why bother with a stylist, if this is the best they can do for you?)

    • Karen Belgrad

Even when pregnant, “going over Niagara Falls in a Barrel” should never be a fashion inspiration.

    • Jeff Warhurst

      WTFery at it’s finest.

    • imspinningaround

Uta Bengt would be screaming into her bluetooth about this dress.

    • MilaXX

She’s too tiny for this dress. This is FMO or the very tall like Tilda.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

I have this exact same getup. Except I put my groceries in it so I don’t use plastic bags.

    • Jeff Warhurst

      *purses lips*

    • In_Stitches

This reminds me of that SNL sketch where people get butt pregnant.

      • kimmeister

*sputters* I haven’t heard of this sketch but now must go look for it!

    • FrauKrissie

No. No to the dress, no to the shoes, no to the hair. Just no.

    • Kerry McCombs

Oh, well I’m pregnant, so I’ll just go out in this sack. This will be fine.

    • amanda siegelson

holy crikey! what the hell is that????
no! not on my girl – take it off!

    • TinyDynamo

      Dear Stylists,
PLEASE START DRESSING PREGNANT LADYSTARS IN MATERNITY CLOTHING. Shoving them in ill-fitting expensive trash bags is ridiculous and insulting to pregnant women. It’s not nearly as hard as you make it out to be, so get going.

    • madge

    • Qitkat

After a day (an hour?) on her feet, at least her bland badly-fitting stilettos provide a ready weapon to stab whomever foisted this dumpy billowing barrel sack tent thing on her. The BKs are in fine form today :) For shame on doing this to a lovely pregnant gal.

    • Danielle

      What fresh hell is this?

    • Dino Bonačić

it’s so weird and bad it starts becoming funny and I get her smile on my face.

    • Miranda Reseigh

They could seal the bottom and have a sack race.

    • fnarf

Has she got it on back to front?

    • AMartel

Dress looks silly even on the model. That should be the warning sign; designer ran out of ideas and defaulted to fugly in order to claim artistry.
      Shoes look painful.

    • Tracy_Flick

That dress looks like a hotel ballroom table cloth. The shoes look like AGONY.

    • SophieCollier

Hey! Something I could sew! A bag with a collar!

    • ElaineMarie34

Oh, man, this volume trend is going to be challenging.

    • quiltrx

I choose to look at the clutch, which is amazeballs. The dress is too sad to even merit comment, other than to say ML should be ashamed.

    • Lilyana_F

      A conglomerate of WTFs…

    • conniemd

A rare total mess from Monique Lhuillier who usually designs dressers to flatter women’s bodies.

    • NurseEllen

I am completely OVER the “smock/apron as designer wear” trend, especially when it looks like it was put together by a junior high age sewing class, as this one does. The pointy shoes are also an abomination.

    • MinAgain

That’s a bad dress. The end.

    • Heather

That looks like an unfinished home-ec project.

    • amf0001

looks like maternity wear – unflattering maternity wear

    • International Model

I keep trying to read the “Today’s Special” on that sandwich board but can’t find it – help?

    • Monabel

Usually the two-dresses-smashed together are top and bottom. This is front and back. Still, regrettable.

    • Bert Keeter

Is that a “FART BAG” container on the rear? It’s the only reason I can think of for it being there…. Seriously?

    • jilly_d

This either needs to be puffier (like on the model) or more fitted. This in-between business is hurting my feelings. Also needs a pink shoe.

    • demidaemon

WOAH. That is one ugly dress. What the hell happened?

    • crash1212

Was there a train that they decided just to fold up and pin in the back? Wonky doesn’t even begin to cover this mess.

    • evave2

The dress on her (and the model) looks wrinkled and shapeless I like the silly-putty shoes just because.

    • I used to be fashionble

      Is she pregnant?

      • Robin Sparkles

        • deech_sea

My question answered as well. She looks cute!

    • FibonacciSequins

Wrong fabric choice for this style. It’s too heavy. I want that bag!

    • Ginmaru

This is the kind of dress you wear when you eat a lot of cruciferous vegetables.

    • E. D.

What’s with all of the potato sacks lately?

    • Man Dala

Ready for the cooking class, kids? — says the kindergarten teacher.

    • musi_

as i scrolled down, i clocked the shoes…i said no. i clocked the shape of the dress from the front…i said nooo, i saw the outfit side on, i said no no no. that’s too many no’s for this to be acceptable.

    • marlie

If you’re going to wear something like this, you’d better make sure that it’s not wrinkled and that there’s no weird pulling or puckering. Kristen didn’t do that.

    • Ass Kicking Adviser

I would go off on the dress but the shoes are so disturbing that I have completely forgotten about the dress.

    • cocohall

I’m not defending the dress, but on the model it hits way above the knee – Ms. Bell is either much shorter or had it altered to hit at the knee, and whatever idea was behind the design is pretty much obliterated by this change. What I’m saying is that I can understand how this tragedy occurred. Monique Lhuillier is considered a good designer. Stylist has pregnant client. Stylist thinks “aha, this might just work for my preggers client.” Preggers client is overly influenced by the name Monique Lhuillier and forgets to look in the mirror. Fashion disaster ensues. Fashion FEMA reps (by way of TLo’s blog) declare a disaster area. Clean up crew arrives, removes dress and burns it out of the view of Ms. Bell. Ice cream and pickles are administered, along with advice to stay out of the pubic eye until good sense returns.

    • spirit52

      Fabulous shoes…stupid dress

    • Ali2044

What is going on with the back of that dress? Is potato sack-chic a thing now?

    • poggi

I love her after the whole Mary Poppins quits thing. She deserves so much better than this.

    • Sadie-Ann

This is a magazine only dress. It seems like it would only work when you can’t see it from every angle.

    • LisaRBoyd

Nobody should wear this type of dress unless they’re built like models. Hate the shoes too. Too shiny and cheap looking.

    • amaranth16

      That is one ugly dress.

    • heartbot

      Is her back pregnant?

    • Garcia Loca

How can one garment have that much hideous?

    • BLauDGaspode

I’ve heard of back labor, but not back pregnancy. Weird.
