    • RescueMe23

Lose the needlessly slaughtered animals and this is all stunning.

      • ckokopuff

        I’m hoping it’s fake.

        • Mothra

It looks way too perfect to be fake, unfortunately.

          • Kent Roby

I’m pretty sure that they all died of old age, and donated their bodies to fashion.

            • PastryGoddess

              such givers they are

            • OffToSeeHim

OMG, I’m totally going to die of old age and donate my body to fashion. And the joke will be on fashion, which doesn’t want it now.

      • OffToSeeHim

You mean the needlessly slaughtered Muppets? What makes you think it’s real? That honestly never occurred to me until this second.

    • Danielle

      I AM DEAD OF FIERCE

    • Kathy Marlow

Cannot WAIT to see these on the red carpet, GORGEOUS.

      • sienna elm

Lots of Oscar gowns in this collection!

        • Imasewsure

Yes these gorgeous gowns and then some tacky Michael Costellos…. that I can miss

    • PastryGoddess

      pretty pretty pretty

I’m going to bookmark this collection when I need to rest my brain

      • Kathy Marlow

It should have been our “something pretty for the day/week/month/year” Love this designer.

    • RussellH88

Oh wow, this is really gorgeous.

    • VioletFem

This is very beautiful, it’s also exactly what I expect an Elie Saab collection to look like. Once, you’ve seen one Elie Saab collection, you’ve seen them all.

      • AlisonHendryx

I came here to say this exact same thing. I love it, it’s beautiful, it’s consistently well done, but there is nothing new here.

      • MaggieMae

Before the scroll down, I was thinking it was all going to be very pretty, but also very expected. I think the collection does a nice job of looking like what you expect from the brand, while not looking like a carbon copy of previous collections. Love, love, love the beading.

        • MissAmynae

That’s what I thought as well. There’s a nice variation on the normal “look” with the addition of the gradient colors, stripes, and more open embroidery/beading patterns. It’s Elie Saab, but quite a few could be Zuhair Murad, Naeem Khan, or even Armani Prive.

      • quiltrx

For me, though, that’s not a bad thing. I like that I know an Elie Saab gown when I see one! :)

        • VioletFem

I certainly appreciate it. An Elie Saab collection is a lot like a uniform. There’s not a lot of variation, but it is well designed and there is always going to be an occasion for it.

      • demidaemon

That’s actually one of the things I appreciate about Elie Saab. Never groundbreaking, always beautiful. I’d rather see this than a whole bunch of ugly ass Dior any day of the year.

      • ankali

        Extremely well put.

    • Sophie

Really pretty, except the see-through pockets.

      • imspinningaround

I thought the see-through pockets were funny! A little bit of humor in an otherwise serious collection.

        • Sophie

They are funny, but not exactly pretty. The good thing is that you don’t have to actually use them, so they appear and disappear as if by magic.

    • homofascist

Thank the GODDESS! After all of the crack induced WTF-ery sometimes a bitch just wants to look at some gorgeous dresses. Thank you boys.

    • luludexter

Beautiful of course and not earthshattering. I particularly the ombre/beaded gowns, the colors are very pretty.

      • PastryGoddess

I think you just made up a word. I like it

      • evave2

I agree one thousand million percent. I think this and the Valli collection from yesterday are the class of couture so far. I kept trying to guess who would wear what gowns at the Oscars. Also everything is so “classy” that the few gowns that have slits DON’T look trashy.

The last few collections T/L put up all had the ombre effect (and I agree Saab added beading and put it up a notch); it’s like everybody had the same idea at the same time or they exchanged notes. I loved Valli and now I love Saab as well. The clothes look so well-constructed and lux. Wow.

    • Mothra

When are we going to move away from pockets in evening gowns? Its not like anyone can put anything in them. Except hands, I suppose.

      • Gatto Nero

I love the pockets — the feeling of insouciance, I guess. They’re not meant to hold anything, except hands.

        • Mothra

I will change my mind about pockets when some star pulls out a tiny bag of gummy bears or M&Ms and nibbles away when they think no one is watching. Then I will approve of pockets on evening gowns. In fact “What’s in your pockets” should become a question on the red carpet and challenge lady stars to put really creative stuff in their pockets. I can see that being a thing. #Trending !

          • RoseJB

Brilliant! I think you’re onto something.

      • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com cheekypinky

If the tuxedos get pockets, then the dresses should, too. A girl might need her chapstick, you know?

    • Lower L

Maybe it’s the Midwesterner in me, but I can’t understand how a gossamer-thin transparent dress says “Fall”.

      • Funkykatt

It definitely would be fall in Sacramento.

    • Reine Bron

Elie saab’s collection are all starting to bleed together for me

      • Dagney

agree, he never met a sequin he didn’t like.

        • BayTampaBay

and neither has Rachel Zoe or…..ME!

        • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

          I’m always here for sequins.

    • lexilexi

His is the only Whiteboard Collection I even bother to look at. Heavenly.

      • Jessica Freeman

I saw it and thought, oh this is going to be lovely. Never disappointed.

        • quiltrx

Now I don’t feel quite so silly for actually clapping my hands like a little girl when I saw this as “Next Post”!

    • colleenjanel

Is anyone else picturing Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning in most of these?

      • Scorsagian

HA they are literally the only two actresses I thought of by name while looking at these pics.

      • Daisy Walker

        And Cathy Cambridge.

      • kimmeister

I got Elizabeth Moss out of the navy, almost off-the-shoulder one.

      • makeityourself

I was thinking Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman and more Cate Blanchett.

        • Sarita

I agree – this entire collection should be shipped up and sent to Cate Blanchett. Surely it was designed for her bar one or two dresses.

    • Funkykatt

I love it even though I can’t stand diaphanous stuff.

    • mjude

how nice to finally be able to look at a lovely collection.

    • ckokopuff

Exquisite. I would wear each and ever one of these dresses. (well, except for the wedding gown, not doing THAT again!)

    • alyce1213

Some lovely dresses, but I feel like I’ve seen it all before. I guess it’s his signature, but I’m weary of the sheer, the gold-beiges.
Boy, that is one pissed off bride! Have you ever??

      • quiltrx

I think the cake’s frosting-flowers came out more peach than salmon, and she is PISSED.

      • smayper

        Said it before I could!

    • Anna

Scrolldown OMG, SHUT UP AND TAKE ALL OF MY (MONOPOLY) MONEY.

ETA: If I were to have the whole big fancy wedding, gown #3 (minus the fur stole) would be my dress.

      • DB Ruberto

Exactly… when I become “rich and famous” I’ll be needing #3 and the transparent-pockets gowns delivered please!

        • Anna

Indeed! I also have need for #6 and #12, although I would gladly relinquish #12 to Lupita since she can pull off that neckline better than I could.

      • Thomas

I want #11 and I’m not even a woman. #12 would look great on Lupita. A lot of these would look great on Keira Knightley. Jessica Chastain should wear the mint green one.

        • Anna

11 is stunning. She would NEVER wear it, but I would love to see it on Angelina Jolie. Also agree with you on Jessica Chastain.

          • Thomas

Angelina Jolie would look magnificent in that, but you’re right. She would probably never wear it unfortunately unless it were black. She’s too limited in her style.

            • Anna

Yeah, she’d go for the plunging neck black one. As beautiful as I think they are, and as much as I admire their craftsmanship, the black gowns in this collection are definitely the least interesting to me.

    • geans

      I audibly gasped.

    • Denise Rambo

FINALLY! I love EVERY SINGLE PIECE!

    • http://attiresmind.blogspot.com/ Kiltdntiltd

      Elegance+class+flawless workmanship=THIS.

    • imspinningaround

I think a lot of these gowns are pretty, but once I saw the big spherical beads in the first few looks I thought “boils” and I couldn’t unsee them. The short blue dress covered in the blue beads is when it turned for me.

      • kimmeister

        I’m totally with you there.

    • joything

What I like best is that the styling builds on and brings out the beauty of the models’ actual faces. I stopped scrolling and went back to look at one model’s face – and from then on the face became part of the overall look. Each model is an individual woman. Extradordinary.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Yep, beautiful dresses on beautiful models styled to look beautiful WILL SELL CLOTHES.

    • Dagney

oh look Elie Saab designed a bunch of dresses with beads and sequins. breaking news also just in: water is wet.

    • Kathy

Love the variations in coral, red and blue. Beautiful colors. Plus, the magpie in me says, “Ooh, sparkly, shiny.”

    • SusiePamudji

      Gorgeous, as always.

    • Jessica Freeman

Sometimes I just prefer all this gorgeous-ness even if its nothing ground breaking for Elie Saab. It’s all just beautiful.

      • msdamselfly

My thoughts exactly. Although I wish these had more originality in the design

    • Violentcello

A lot of these are beautiful. The bumpy ones are kind of horrifying.

    • Kristi Mitchell

In love with every single piece. Nothing particularly fashion forward here, but I can honestly say I would wear every single gown pictured.

      • BayTampaBay

In want number six from the top in a size four please. Just put it on my house account and deliver to my home ASAP.

    • PinkyK

Love! Absolutely gorgeous! Although, I’m getting a Rosalind Russell in Aunty Mame vibe…

    • Mary Featherstone

cannot wait to see ladystars rocking these gowns during awards season!

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Pretty. I thought I was over ombre but the first off the shoulder blue one is just gorgeous (but please not with ombre hair).

    • Heather

I know this isn’t groundbreaking or anything, but I love all of it. I’m excited to see these on the red carpet.

    • Michele Morningstar

      Beautiful! Wow!

    • Jessie Melcher Brown

Unlined with pockets so you can see their hands. W T F ?

      • Kent Roby

I’m laughing at the mental image of someone having a pack of cigarettes in one pocket and loose change in the other.

        • FibonacciSequins

Crumpled Kleenex, cell phone. Lipstick, purse mirror. House keys, credit card. At least the pockets exist, it’s a step in the right direction!

      • Gatto Nero

I, um, actually liked that feature.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I bet every one of those first 4 dresses shows up on a major red carpet. I also see Sandra Bullock in the scoop neck navy blue horizontal stripes, with the pockets.

    • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

      Oh I want everything.

    • Twigg

I’ll take one of everything, please.

    • boweryboy

I’m getting a strong Jean-Paul Gaultier vibe from a lot of the dresses, and I will never be a fan of skin disease tumor beading but most if these are gorgeous. It reads luxe, expensive, and couture. I like it and I’m usually not a fan of Elie Saab because he’s so one note.

    • Jackie4g

All those cutting edge designers whose clothes make one cringe will not be around in five years and this gent will.

    • WendyD

      FROZEN, The Couture Collection.

      • Shawn EH

        You might say they’re ombray-zing!

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

I have such a crush on Elie Saab after reading this site for years.

Also, whenever I see a show is ended with a wedding dress, I remember that magical moment when I first saw Models, Inc.

    • Kent Roby

This collection has some of the best use of various ombre treatments I’ve seen; oh so pretty.

    • KES4K

I want to have the kind of life where I am regularly required to wear Elie Saab and Carolina Herrera.

    • rhône

it’s a little conservative for my taste but i love the ombre treatments and the huge skirts!

eta: would it kill him to include like, ONE black/dark-skinned model??? it’s 2014

      • kimmeister

I guess the Asian model in the taupe ombre gown has to carry all of the diversity by herself!

        • rhône

her outfit might be my favorite in the whole collection — the taupe to midnight ombre is perfection. but yeah, the lack of diversity here is pitiful to be honest. might as well have just cloned the same brunette, blue-eyed, lily-white model…i actually take that back, in 50 years milan and paris might think that’s a GREAT idea. :P

      • Clash D

Well, at least we got the token asian. But yeah.

    • SophiaPehawkins

If I were a model, I’d want to always walk in an Elie Saab show. Everything here is gorgeous.

    • Tami from Seattle

Yay fashion without wackado!! I have such PTSD from most of the collections that I scrolled through preparing to flinch after each pretty picture.

    • Sunshine16

Ladystars, put these dresses on STAT!

    • Gatto Nero

Pretty — and pretty predictable for this house. Some retreads, but you can count on Elie Saab for ultrafeminine shapes and lovely fabrics.
      I like the transparent pockets.

    • Alyssa

Stunning, and I can’t wait to see these (hopefully) start showing up on the red carpet!!!

    • Emily Smith

I just love the Elie Saab aesthetic. I love her use of sleeves, if I was was absurdly wealthy and had fancy black tie events to go to I think I would only ever wear her stuff. Alas, not the case.

      • marlie

Elis Saab is a guy, but I agree with you on all counts. His work is always so classy and elegant.

        • Emily Smith

Lol, fail by me. I don’t keep up too much with the high end fashion beyond what TLo puts up here that I sometimes look at, I focus more on things I can actually afford to keep in my closet!

    • MilaXX

Thank you Elie Saab. After so many WTF collections this is s breath of fresh air. These dresses are just pretty. The sheer dresses will work for the sexy gals. The shorter dresses will work for the younger gals. The mature gals have something to look good in as well. There’s even a wedding gown thrown in for good measure.

    • elirt

Never ground breaking, always very pretty. I wonder how many of these we’ll see Taylor Swift in.

    • Radish

Fashion doesn’t always have to be boundary-breaking. Gorgeous.

    • FibonacciSequins

Delicious ombre, luxe fabrics. For once a designer is handling lace and sheer intelligently. Safe, lovely dresses.

    • Anique Ashraf

for gorgeousness without needless fuckery: elie saab.

      for fuckery: dior.

      • Thomas

This is funny because Elie Saab is what Dior used to be.

    • KinoEye

Has Elie Saab ever put out a collection that wasn’t gorgeous and wearable for all kinds of ladies? Nothing groundbreaking, but lovely nonetheless.

    • Ann VerWiebe

      So pretty!

    • what not

Nothing groundbreaking, but they’ll be beautiful on the RC. He’s good at what he does.

    • MightyMarshal

      Breathtaking.

    • Laura Elizabeth

      YES TO ALL OF THIS

    • PinkySlinky

thank god there are still designers who understand ‘pretty’

    • TLJezebel

I just can’t with the skinny Walmart belts.

    • Ragnarockette

Am I the only one who thinks this looks exactly like his last collection except with bubblier beads?

      • Dam_Angel

Yes. But still gorgeous. I never tire of looking at his beautiful work.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

It makes my heart sad-angry that I’ll never have the money nor the reason for an Elie Saab gown.

      • Alyssa

If I had the money, I could totally come up with a reason. Office Christmas party, family photo, etc.

    • marlie

Positively beautiful. Just gorgeous. Sometimes you can’t go wrong with simple elegance. I love all of the gowns so much that I don’t think I can pick a favorite.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

Elie Saab, how I adore thee.

    • Imasewsure

Hate the short dresses and the furs but the gowns are gorgeous. Send all of the dark ones to Ms Jolie for her next pole dance

    • TinyDynamo

I want ALL OF THIS. And the gorgeous, fantastic life in which I have actual reasons to wear them!

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I like it so much more than I expected, but the collection does look rather like a notions store blew up on the runway.

    • http://www.robertjamesfischer.tumblr.com Theda

Gorgeous. It’s no surprise, after all they kind of do the same silhouettes and beading every year. The first blue dress with the mermaid cut is very under the sea waitress (a chic one, but still).

    • Zeee

Come on awards season!!! What a beautiful collection.

    • Aidan B

Love, love love. In my Oscar fantasies I’m always wearing Elie Saab. The contenders for this year’s ceremonies are numbers 4, 11, 12, and in the small thumbnails, #8. Le sigh.

    • Shawn EH

Ethereal goddesses. Somebody keep Nicole out of the showroom!

    • FancyPhilly

If I were wearing one of these (especially #12) I’d never stop twirling and asking my cat, “Who’s a pretty princess?? I’m a pretty princess!”

    • PeggyOC

I was scrolling through this saying “So much pretty”. After the Dior and Armani cluster shows, this is like a drink of refreshing lemonaide.

    • Thomas

With all of the fug on the runways these days, at least you can always count on Elie Saab to be gorgeous.

    • LilyVanessi

This makes me happy. Except for the dress where you can see the model’s hands in the pockets – kinda creepy. Otherwise, very well done.

    • Wattage

Yes, an Elie Saab is an Elie Saab, but the ombres, the unusual and perfectly fall colors, and the truly breathtaking craftsmanship–GORGEOUS.

    • BlondettaChick

      I want all of it.

    • http://www.argonauticos.blogspot.com/ jason

      a tad dowdy…but fabulous.
      Dowdulous!?

    • pugluv

      Just gorgeous!

    • carollorac

I’m a sucker for sparkly Elie Saab, but number 9 looks like smallpox.

    • queeniethebold

So incredibly beautiful. It makes me sigh. i love #4 and #9. (Is real fur being used in the gowns that have fur? Ugh. Hope not.)

    • http://www.chifleschips.com Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

      Finally, the pretty. Beautiful.

    • Shelby

Sigh. I love love love Elie Saab. I know his designs tend to look similar season by season, but I don’t care. Someday I’m going to go for broke and buy a dress (even if I only wear it around the house).

    • Darva Sutra

      “Dah-VEEN!”

    • Truthiness2U

It’s all variations on a theme for Elie Saab. But it’s a theme of pretty. And given how rare it is, seemingly, for designers to get *cough Dior and Chanel cough*…I’ll take it.

What’s so wrong with pretty? With imagining myself being able to rock some of these dresses, Or barring that, playing paper-doll dress up in my head with my favourite celebs, in the dresses I think they’d look stunning in

    • Jacqueline Wessel

      Ooh, these are lovely.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

I have been working with a lot of collage lately, so that’s where my head is at artistically and I find all of this very appealing. A bunch of pretty dresses, but what pretty dresses! This would be a fun collection for a round of Pretend Stylist.

      • Qitkat

        Agree completely.

And also like for collage, one of my passions too.

    • crash1212

Beautiful collection. I love the pockets, however, if your pockets are see through, doesn’t it defeat the purpose of pockets?

    • KimThore

      gorgeous. gorgeous. gorgeous.

    • MK03

I’m getting a bit of a couture Elsa vibe from some of these, but that is not a bad thing.

    • quiltrx

It’s all so incredibly Elie Saab. Which, in QuiltRx speak, means this is incredible and I can’t find a single look I don’t like. Pretty much my favorite designer.
I particularly like the ombres (the ‘ombre by flowers’ ones are extra-cool) and the horizontal striped gowns, which give me a classic Film Noir vibe.

    • Qitkat

The Queen of the Faeries and her court would be enchanted by this collection.

As am I, it’s so hard to choose a favorite.
But I love the shorter dresses, and gasp! the gowns with the plunging necklines.

    • Truthiness2U

My caveat of otherwise love for this collection is no. more .unbacked. lace. It’s especially silly when there are POCKETS that we see because there isn’t a lining.

Sorry for being so adamant, I’m just really over this trend.

    • frannyprof

      Pretty. Predictable, but pretty.

    • DuBey2

The Angry Bride and her guests

    • KT

Gorgeous as always, though I have to say, it’s all starting to look kind of the same from one collection to the next. But when they’re this beautiful, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

    • smayper

They are so beautiful in stills, I can only imagine how gorgeous they are when moving and interacting with light.

    • save_the_hobbit

Absolutely beautiful, but all the fur I’ve been seeing all over is just so unnecessary and disgusting.

    • Tanya Wade

I could see Helen Mirren in a bunch of these.

    • demidaemon

You know, the one thing I love about Elie Saab is the consistency. You always know what you are going to get, it will be stunningly beautiful, even if it’s not breaking any boundaries or experimenting with fashion. That said, I do like the addition of the fur capes/throws/cowls. Adds something new that can actually upscale these exquisite dresses.

Yep that’s why I love him. I don’t think any woman is going to put on an Elie Saab design and stand photographed thinking that she looks like an idiot. He simply makes beautiful dresses that a woman will feel beautiful wearing. There is a place for him in the design world as he is.

          Couldn’t agree with you more!

These all make me want to get married again – especially in the fact that, like a wedding dress, these frocks would make you feel beautiful when you wore them. But the 5th from the bottom – the perfect antidote to those stark white sleeveless gowns that give brides back fat.

      This is stunning!

    • Lindsey Romain

It’s all very pretty but it’s also all very predictable.

    • OffToSeeHim

Doesn’t this look like where Laura would have eventually gotten if she had kept designing? What ever happened to her? Anybody?

    • understateddiva

I know sheer is here to stay, but dear god, why??

    • SophieCollier

“Let it goooo, let it GOOOOOOOOO!” Haha, I actually love the ice blue snow queen fabulousness.

    • lilibetp

I hope the furs are faux. Otherwise, this collection is sublime.

the coral gown was the first to get anymore than a “meh” from me. his default to fussy, bedazzled dresses provides ladystars with serviceable dresses to fall back on during awards season, when other actors wear something a little too close to the chosen costume of the night, but there’s nothing new or even innovative here. boring.

Pretty dresses on pretty white women…yawn

    • BookManFilm

knockout after knockout – pure beauty.

    • altermyego

      Breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking.

But what happened to the bride? She is really pissed off about something. Left at the altar? Mother-in-law said something mean? Groom slept with the stripper the night before?

If Karl Lagerfeld hates women, clearly Elie Saab loves them. He designs beautiful dresses that make women look beautiful – never awkward.

I keep coming back to this collection. It makes me so happy.
These gowns will look gorgeous in editorials.

    • suzanne77

      Very Laura Bennett! ;)

    • LJCdoc

Time to activate my Elie Saab “expected but beautiful” macro.

    • katarama

someone has been dreaming about Grace Kelly! Lovely.

This collection isn’t exactly innovative or new. We’ve seen plenty of similar designs before from Elie Saab. But to hell with new. Every single dress is stunning and I want them all. The fur stoles were an unfortunate idea that probably worked better in concept than in reality.

    • lorepottter

At least one of these stuning gowns will be in the Emmys red carpet

    • Sara Brams-Miller

Holy red carpet, batman. About 85% of these are perfect for awards season. Just sayin.

Lupita could make every single one of these work.

    • Renaissance_Man_ATL

      Gorgeous, stunning, exquisite, and ethereal!
