I thought that shape of pant was out. Is it already cycling in again? This confuses me greatly, and has for a while.

I love the floor-length striped dress but I would look so wide in it.

    • evave2

I agree about the pant-shape. It looks kind of like bell bottoms but not really, just like a flare?

I liked the simplicity of the short dresses but the long dresses appeared to be too much. Again, I hope you know what I mean.

      • Nicole

Yes. I like the short dresses but when the length goes long or the looks try to be serious, it feels like the design gets lightweight and department store.

      • luluransom

It’s the Rachel Zoe cut. Do not attempt w/o thin thighs. I like the colors but something feels very 7th grade to me. Not retro, just dated.

    • jspark

The bold colors and stripes look like JCPenny to me.

    • FancyPhilly

I’d like to see Kathy Cambridge rock some of these especially the giant print long wrap dress.

      • Daisy Walker

I covet that dress. Loving the color palette in this collection!

  • hughman

“There’s no time to cry, happy, happy
Put it in your heart where tomorrow shines
    Gold and silver shine.

    Shiny happy people holding hands”

  • kimmeister

Not loving this as much as I had hoped. Not all of the pattern mixing is working for me, and there are some surprisingly juvenile elements (like the lip clutch). The snarky facial expression of lighter haired model isn’t helping either. My favorite pieces are the short purple coat, the fuchsia pants, and the cobalt/black/white clutch.

    • Heather

That short purple coat is calling my name. Also I agree about that facial expression, it’s weird.

  • MinAgain

I love it, but it doesn’t actually say resort to me.

    • gabbilevy

Well, it does, if it says “ski resort.”

  • Bert Keeter

Those bell bottoms….soooooo precisely covering the shoe…a platform I take it, are hilarious. Right out of Charlie’s Angels!

    • EditKitten

As someone who is too curvy to wear skinny pants and this whole tapered bullshit, I LOVE IT! :)

  • Thomas

That first look has Taylor Swift written all over it.

    • AmeliaEve

It’s kind of exactly the look I aimed for in the late 1970s, right down to the colors. Ditto the red pants with the portrait sweater. It’s making me super nostalgic.

  • Sarah

I really like that red & purple floral dress. I am not mad at bell bottoms, either, but they sure aren’t for the short legged.

    • marlie

Ooh — that’s one of my favorites. It’s really pretty.

      • Sarah

I just realized there’re two of them. I like ’em both.

        • marlie

I was specifically talking about the long one, but I like the wrap dress too, as well as the long wrap dress with the large flowers. Like I said… I need to hit the lottery. It’s too hard to choose between them.

          • Lower L

I haven’t been a fan of the maxi-dress trend, because they all seem to have the very same empire-waist design (if one can use the word “waist” in reference to a circus tent that is fitted at the bustline). But I like this long dress. It has an actual shape to it!

          • Sarah

I have been a fan of the maxi dress trend, for the very same reason you aren’t. Going on…seven of ’em? Dang. When this trend dies for good, I’ll have to make curtains out of them or something.

          • Lower L

If a garment isn’t tailored and structured to nip in at the waist, it looks bad on me. So I get irked at the seeming never-ending parade of empire waists. (Like when Banana Republic announced its first Mad Men-inspired collection, and 95% of the dresses had empire waists. Betty Draper did not wear anything with that silhouette, dammit!)

          • EditKitten

My husband HATES when I wear maxi dresses. But I have this one that happens to have a real waist and sleeves, and it’s in this beautiful blue color — I’ve had it for three years and I will cry if anything ever happens to it. My mom rarely has much to say about what I wear, but she called it my “wow dress.”

    • MoHub

Like both of them, but the maxi is the one on my wish list.

  • another_laura

I’m sorry to say this about DVF, but … mostly this is a no. I like those deep blue looks (8 and 10?) but that’s it except for maybe a couple of scattered pieces that are rather ordinary. So odd not to like her clothing.

  • OffToSeeHim

WANT every single long dress, and everything in that red and blue print. And the first striped dress, everything in that print too.

  • marlie

This is resort? It seems a bit autumnal, but I really like this collection. Nothing fashion-forward, but pretty, wearable pieces, that I’d love to stock up on as soon as I win the lottery.

  • smayper

No to pink bell-bottoms. Just no.

  • SugarSnap108

I’d wear most of the dresses. I’m a sucker for a classic wrap. Bell bottoms, not so much.

  • @Biting Panda

    I have feels.
While I enjoy the clothes. I’m bummed by the inundation of their particular ideal wearer.

  • KateMaryC

I am having a hard time judging the clothes because they have been photoshopped so flat, they barely look like clothing.

  • LeelaST

Why not just show the looks on a mannequin? This is ridiculous.

  • A Custos

The last look is by far my favourite ! Great work

  • NMMagpie

    Bold, clean colors. Love!

But uh… a little too much photoshop on those legs, though.

  • Aidan B

Does anyone else feel like they just photo-shopped the clothes onto the model? That said, they are some fabulous clothes. Love all the colors and prints.

    • Kristi Mitchell

Someone needs to layoff the photo shop a bit. In quite a few shots the models legs don’t looks like they mat have or one is bigger than the other. I didn’t even notice the clothes I couldn’t stop starting at the weird legs!

  • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

What’s different from the 1974 collection?

    • Coolekat

Probably not made of that horrible thick polyester. That stuff was toxic.

    • Mikki Anderson

I am pretty sure she found some old sketches in a closet and said “WTH, let’s just go with these.” Anyone who was over 16 in the 70’s has already worn every single piece in this collection. I think I may even still have the striped wrap dress in my closet somewhere. The prints even look familiar. And can I just say how tired I am of seeing her wrap dress, again and again and again… There is nothing new here unless of course you were born after 1964 and then it probably is new.

  • crash1212

Not diggin’ the color story…at all. Love the bags though.

  • Trickytrisha

The clothes and models look like they are from a paper doll book. Stiff, lifeless, blocky, and phony.

  • quiltrx

    I can’t with those pants.
I do like the saturated colors, though. Some of them are so bright, it’s almost like the were paper-dolled over the bodies with Photoshop.

    • conniemd

Not only do I hate bell bottoms with a burning fire, these are even worse because they go all the way to the floor rendering the shoes invisible. Ditto for the long dresses and skirts. I do like the colors and prints.

      • Coolekat

Down to the floor I’d stupid and I got over bell bottoms in the seventies.

  • Danielle

Second down, I’m here for it.

  • sienna elm

There’s a lot of wearable pieces here! I really like it.

  • icm

Great colours ,wearable ,marketable, its all pretty good except for that vanity sweater with Diane on it …sorry thats just tacky!

  • demidaemon

    Love it all!

  • minnye

I want every single piece. I don’t think I’ve ever said that about a collection! *sadly longing*

    • Raspberry2012

I know! I’m the same way, there’s always at least one I can’t deal with. But I love all of these!

  • Sunraya

Wow! I love a lot of this , especially the 4th one down! Glorious, gorgeous color! Yay!

  • frannyprof

    I love it all!

  • LesYeuxHiboux

It’s all very cute and wearable, but long sleeves and wool coats for summer?

    • Lower L

Maybe the resort is at the top of the Swiss Alps?

  • stellamaris73

    “The Seventies are back!”

“Does that mean you’ll be voting Labour again, dear?”

  • Shalhevet

Bright cheerful colors, strong simple shapes. What’s not to love? I especially covet the giant print maxi dress sixth down, the heart graphic top in the first picture, and the bright deep purple/blue jacket.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

What a great collection. Totally wearable and totally wantable.

  • Lori

I can’t with those high-waisted 70s pants, but the dresses are really cute.

  • Jessica Freeman

Gimme gimme gimme all of it!

  • Qitkat

I was so distracted by the seven foot tall models, I forgot to look at the clothing initially. Lots of brilliant colors and patterns. I wish I were seven feet tall because these clothes would look nothing like this on me.

  • Hysterectomypants

Is the graphic on that sweater DVF herself? In a leopard catsuit? That’s what I’m seeing, and I really, really hope that’s correct. I WANT THAT SWEATER.

I don’t actually dislike the shape of the pants, but the stick-leg-with-amputated-foot length is really distracting me.

  • sleepycat

so I think she is starting to knock herself off because I swear I have seen some of the prints and in the same colors. Overall it is a major yawn. I realize the wrap dress is her speciality, but come on.

  • VioletFem

    Loving this!

  • shopgirl716

I love it. I want every piece. It probably doesn’t come in my size but a girl can dream, right?

  • travelingcat

Love the saturated colors! I also love the pants. I know that shape isn’t everyone’s thing, but as a woman with impressive hips, they are mine.

  • Anne

    LOVING those printed maxi dresses.

  • FibonacciSequins

Is the world ready for polyester bell bottoms to come back? Really?

I feel like she did all this back in the 70s.

    • Gatto Nero

My first impression, too. Most of it looks really dated.

    • Lulu

I am tired of seeing that wrap dress from her. Forty odd years of wrap dresses, please dear, get a new idea.

  • PastryGoddess

    Oh yes! Oh hell yes!

I think I’m having a colorgasm right now. Please excuse me

  • Melmmmendes

    I’m sorry but…yawwwwn.

  • smh4748

First, scroll down and look at all of the clothing.

Now, go back up, scroll down, and have a hearty belly laugh at just how terrible this photoshopper is at doing bare legs. Ye gods!

    • How to Faint

I’m glad it’s not just me giving those photoshopped legs the side eye.

    • BLauD

What? Your muscles don’t come out at sharp angles??

  • MilaXX

Very nice. Minor quibbles; I hate clothing with heart on them so I don’t like that first sweater, and the hem length the models are wearing won’t work in real life. My favorite piece is that striped maxi.

  • SierraDelta

The fabrics all look like early polyester to me — the kind that didn’t breathe and melted if you tried to iron it.

  • Shelby

I kind of love the 70s. Before my time, but I dream of the 70s returning … just with natural fibers (death to polyester!) and less avocado. In other words, if I wasn’t so short and terminally shy, I would totally wear most of these.

  • Betsy

Is there excessive thigh gap or is it just me?

  • boweryboy

I love the textures, patterns, and rich colors. That floor length floral print wrap dress is gorgeous. Some are a too literal interpretation of the ’70s. And most will really sing on women with darker skin tones.

  • somebody blonde

Fabulous. I’d wear the whole collection if it were in my budget…

  • Alicia

This reads PR girl in New Media goes to the office, rather than resort. I loathe pants that length.

  • Lilyana_F

Oh, hell no to the feet-less pants…

  • B_C_J

Pants are all too long . They make the wearer look ridiculous .

  • Ragnarockette

    Been done.

Not one item here feels new or fresh. Most of the prints look like things my family in Arkansas would pick up off the sale rack at Ross and wear to church with an old, stretched out cotton camisol underneath to hide their cleavage. Beautiful color scheme, but none of this is doing anything for me.

    • suzq

OMGeee! You’ve seen me in my DVF, which I wear as a tunic because it’s TOO DAMN SHORT!

  • Laura Renee

My favorite resort collection so far.

  • NurseEllen

Another winning collection. Love the ’60s vibe and the combination of long & short dresses. I absolutely adore those gold sandals……sure is a shame that the hem on every pair of trousers is so long and balloon-ey that the shoes can’t be seen. Not a bell bottom fan, not back then, and not now!

  • decormaven

The short wrap dress with rose floral motif- could Christina Hendricks pull that off if the colors were reversed?

  • suzq

I love DVF, but quite frankly, after 40, the skirts are a bit too short. I wish my options weren’t limited to pants and long skirts. Too many coats for this to read as “resort” to me…unless she’s dressing everyone for Sochi.

    • Synnae

I am so with you on the skirt length, and I’m 6’2″ so for me they end up mini-micro. Actually all her skirts/hems are too short for me, even the knee length classic wrap dresses. Really annoying as her designs and style are great for my overall body shape.

  • BLauD

Very little of this reads resort to me. It all looks so heavy, but I do love the colors and patterns. Not any especially new ideas either. I kind of feel like DVF just phoned it in on this one.

  • Raspberry2012

(*Weeps bitter, resentful tears for not being thinner, tall, and rich so I can have all of these*)

  • AndieJay

I didn’t like 70s clothes the first time around. My feelings haven’t changed.

  • merrigator

    I love ALL OF IT.

  • bringbackbeatles

I love it! The colors are stunning and I’m always a fan or a 70’s vibe. Plus, those gold shoes are amazing!

  • myristica_fragrans

    i just want that sweater.

  • kerryev

All the strappy dresses look just like the things I would make myself in the late 90s when I only had a yard or so of some print that I loved and I didn’t want to screw it up.

  • jif

This reads “Resort Middle Management” more than “Resort” to me.

  • ♠♥zee♣♦

After the sixth photo, I kept obsessing over the fact the model was wearing the same shoes in every shot. Isn’t it against the law for a look book to feature a model with the same piece in every shot? (In this case, shoes). Intriguing at first, boring near the end. Change the god damn shoes.

  • Ann VerWiebe

Did she just pull out a bunch of slopers from the ’80s? Archives!

  • irielle

This is giving me a really 70s vibe. Love the sweater, but then I run toward the twee side.

  • Frank Lithium
