Christian Siriano Resort 2015 Collection inspired by colorful abstract paintings by artist Teil Duncan.

Some of these are really, REALLY striking. The pink, one shoulder number needs to find a home in my closet.
I think they all belong in my closet . . .
Agreed! This is beautiful, striking and adorable! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Outside of some odd colorblocking, these are kinda cute. One of the models resembles Alicia Silverstone.
She does, I think its the downturned mouth…
Ooh, I kind of love the colorblocking, especially the dress with the pink top and green bottom.
And I was thinking the dark haired one looked like grumpy cat.
Varying levels of success here, but overall these are fun. The lime and white geometric print pieces and the oversize floral-inspired prints at the end (the shift dress and coat, and the gowns) are fabulous.
Is the last one the “top” that goes with the skirt that Coco Rocha wore to the CFDA? Why isn’t the skirt shown here? I think the top she wore it with (unless of course the top and bottom on that look are from a different collection and just similar?) at the CFDA looked better with the skirt because it would have been too much as one outfit. I love those long back skirts with the flowers on them. The green one is posed so beautifully.
And they do look like something (if I had the money of course) would wear for fun if I went on a high-end cruise (if I had the money of course).
I don’t think that “top” is a match for the Coco Rocha dress, which has a solid black bodice and a white skirt with what looks like massive leather or black textured fabric applique. But it looks like the design inspiration is the same.
And ditto on the gowns and the high-end cruise!
The gown Coco wore is from his 2014 Resort collection. (It’s my most popular Pinterest pin ever.) As best I can tell the one she wore is indeed a gown, as there’s no discernible waistband, at least on the runway version.
I love all the ones you mentioned. I’m usually not a fan of floral prints, but these oversize floral-esque numbers are striking.
Princesss Puffy Sleeves is really growing up. I don’t love this collection, but I like the fact that he’s (finally, I think) exploring different aesthetics.
I am very pleased to see Christian continuing to explore and grow as a designer. I love the green gown with the shoulder flounce, also some of the pink prints.
That green gown is probably my favorite of the collection.
That green gown really sings-that tiered flounce really gives exactly a gown with very clean lines the extra oomph that makes an impact.
COLOR! I am actually loving this, although that peach/purple combo needs to die a slow and painful death.
On second viewing, i would have to agree. That blush/orchid thing is so not working. and the pleated detail seems awkwardly placed.
The blush orchid combo reminds me of my early teens. I can’t put my finger on what I owned but seem to remember this as a popular pairing 40ish years ago.
But that same exact style, in the striped fabric (first picture – short version) works just fine. That striped dress is actually the piece I’d be most likely to go for. I went back and forth between the pictures to see that is really is the same style (also the short version fuschia and green color blocked), but that peach and orchid combo is deadly – and NOT in a good way.
Yeah, that’s the only one that was a total clunker to me.
I love the prints. They are striking and amazing even the hippy stripes.
However, almost all of the skirts appear to be overworked and with too many elements to make the average wearer look good (and the models are having a hard time too).
the sunglasses are really really unflattering… the girls all look shortsighted when they have them on
Is he still designing for Payless? I think the shoes are multi-cute.
Those don’t look like Payless shoes, but if they are … I need to go shopping!
He was kind of knocking-off his own shoes for Payless. But I haven’t seen an advertisement for them for a while. (I bet that was actually paying the bills while he was getting his high-end design shop really running. Smart kid.)
I LOVE this!!
Me, too! I’m not a fan of Princess Puffy Sleeves, but wow!
A bit eye-searing but I’ll take it over the “What should we do for resort? A bunch of floaty white and beige garments?” laziness I’m seeing from a lot of designers.
Yes. So refreshing to see color! And with such unusual and striking prints.
I agree! Bold colors look terrific in a sterotypical resort setting. Can’t stand muddy colors under bright sunshine and blue skies.
One of the best lines from Breaking Bad (& there were many) was after a posh affair at the Billionaire scientist’s home when Walt said
“Did we not get the beige memo?”
I’m in love. The color palette is gorgeous, and these are mostly beautifully designed, elegant pieces. I’m particularly feeling the gowns – just about all of them.
For me Christian has always had a true flair for designing gowns-he knows how to bring the ‘wow’ factor.
I’m not even a bright colors person, but I want TO BE this chick.
I mostly love these. Can’t get onboard with the pocket/hip flaps on the pink stripy dress though. Would love the second and third last gowns for Lupita.
Some fantastic prints in play here, and I really love the colors a lot. the only things that don’t work for me are the few print suits. it seems like too much pattern on those. Otherwise BRAVO, Christian!
I love all of this, except the peach and lilac color-blocking. Not those two colors together.
Okay I am really not feeling this one. A couple I like but there’s something about this collection that feels forced. Like he was obligated to make a resort collection and had to crank it out fast
Love the prints. You can truly see how inspired he was to work with them. Some of the monotone and color blocked pieces are less successful.
Especially the neons – I love color, but those neons scream “late ’80’s” to me.
Ooh, Solange needs to work a couple of these in her style rotation.
Lilly Pulitzer tripping on acid. And I mean that in a good way.
There are very few clunkers, but overall this collection is STUNNING! Those gowns with the over-sized floral print on black background…*SWOON*
And the shoes! I’d cut a bitch for the slingbacks…
Origami folds need to go the way of the buggy whip but overall these are wearable and fun. The gowns are just lovely.
I love this. I want the jacket that’s black with the teal and green print.
I love a designer who loves a print. That pink and red rose print dress needs to be in my life STAT.
Only a few I can’t get behind, mostly the ones with the odd, different-fabric skirt panels. I take it that he designed the prints; they’re all stunning.
SHUT UP. I am in love with this. I want to wear so much of it!
I love it- not all of it- but I love vibrant colors and prints, and most of it looks incredibly wearable.
I’m loving it all! The prints are awesome, I just have a thing about that particular shade of green for clothes – the one paired with the pink, I am yet to see a person that can actually make it work.
Colorblocking of neon (80s) prints must die.
The colors are life enhancing but most of the collection looks home-ec to me.
I love this little boy. So happy for his success. Don’t love the peach bath towel but do love the black and orange and black and turquoise gowns.
When I said I love a pocket in a dress, that’s NOT what I was talking about, Christian.
The prints and colors are quite exuberant. The more I look, the more I like. But I will never like that color-blocked silk blouse.
I really like the gathered pocket treatment!
The orchid with the peach pleated thing at the waist needs to go away, but everything else is quite lovely. Some of it even looks resort-y, which these collections tend not to.
Yes! My 1st thought was: actual resort wear.
I love this collection for the most part. Fun, bold colors and amazing prints!
ETA: I hope to see a lot of this turn up on the red carpet!
I love the colors and prints, but some of these are really tricky and awkward. I’m really loving the paintings.
I love Christian Siriano. Some of these seems purely for editorials, but they are so strikig. Great to see him continue his fierceness. So far, he seems to be the only worthwhile winner of PR.
oh the lime geometric print gown is MINE.
Go, Princess Puffy Sleeves! You are the most genuine talent from the Project Runway Grind-em-up-and-spit-em-out-Machine!
This is the sort of elegant but playful style that Marion Cotillard should be wearing. Time for her to switch designers. Absolutely stunning stuff.
There is some gorgeous stuff here. I don’t know if that flowing green dress would work in real life, but the picture made me swoon.
That green one with the chiffon overlay is gorgeous, someone needs to get that on a red carpet STAT
It’s Christian Siriano’s world, we’re all just living in it.
IMHO, it’s ranging from the garish to the gorgeous. Hate the colour blocking, love the bold patterns. Those dresses with the black tops and patterned front/side trains at the very end are really striking. On a different note, the blonde model in the first picture appears to have been photoshopped rather dramatically. Her left waist is almost on a line with her neck.
There’s a helluva lotta very wearable cuteness up in here! So many cute dresses that I covet, but only the sleeveless ones. Some of the pants are cute too but need to be styled with white shirts for real life.
Resort wear! I wish!
I was never a big fan of his but THIS is stupendous! I’m also claiming the pink-striped double breasted coat. JeeeZUS, I love most of this (exc the orchid/peach abomination and anything with kelly green).
LOVE this! My favorite was the black, turquoise and yellow gown (3rd from the bottom). There are pieces non-models would wear in real life, fabulous people could wear to special events, and the really adventurous would wear if they dare. Home run Princess Puffysleeves.
With a few exceptions (all things peach, for instance), I love these.
And look at the sheer joy these colors inspire in the wearer.
I love Siriano’s stuff. It’s so beautiful, and it still looks wearable.
I love pretty much everything here. I really want to see someone wearing the acid green gown and the black/white gown. Not crazy about the pieces with the hip curtains. Please put Christina Hendrixs in that next to last gown.
Er, I would love to see Christina H in the solid black V neck showstopper gown. So that there’s no extra print or detail or material on her top half.
I hope some of these make it on to the red carpet while its still weather appropriate!
That chartruese evening gown with the smart little belt and shoulder straps: to die for. Otherwise, bold prints, but a couple of franken-dresses snuck in there.
Yes, love, will take all, thanks very much.
LOVE that first dress. And I would also like one of those green tribal/geometric print dresses (#5), too.
What a fun collection! Everything looks fresh and wearable. I love the fabrics and colors. He really knows how to dress a woman’s body, doesn’t he?
Gorgeous colors, prints & fabrics – again! Love the pink stripe with the pockets and the black & turquoise print.
I wish I were going someplace where I could wear this stuff.
I cannot get behind hot pink and green or peach and purple, but this is a really gorgeous resort collection. The black and turquoise print takes my breath away.
What a talent. I truly love his clothes. Every detail.
It’s going to take some hard core fashion chops, but I really want to see those gowns on the RC. Also, I think Lupita would look fantastic in most of these and I would like it if she would wear them.
Send that green gown to Lupita, immediately.
Some of the shirt and pants combos look a bit like pajamas, but many of the dresses and most of the gowns are amazing.
love the prints and the paintings, too!
I like quite a few of these but I think the best of them are derivative. The chart treus gown screams Oscar de la Renta to me. But I do like that he’s using color now.
No snark here. Sincere question:
Where is the line between “inspired by,” or “homage,” and “derivative?”
I don’t think there is any hard and fast line, and in reality there is nothing totally new anywhere. But when you look at a piece and the first thing that pops into your head is another designer’s dress, I’d say that’s derivative.
Excellent question. The line is very fine, and it depends on who’s doing the viewing, I think.
I really like most of this. His collections alway strike me as so wearable.
This so such a collection of highs and lows for me. What works works like gangbusters and what doesn’t it foul
He’s getting better all the time. I’m not sure I would have used “has an eye for prints” to describe him before this. I’d love to see Cate Blanchett in that collared, angel-sleeve top with the stripes. Lupita and Zoe Saldana should snap up those neon gowns with a quickness.
Doing a quick scroll, some of these are too fussy, but overall? Very cute.
I hope he makes the cash registers sing.
His designs are so lady-like. I love them.
Just wonderful… those prints are amazing!
Maybe I haven’t been paying close enough attention but this seems like a HUUUUUGE jump forward for him. Love all of it!
I love how colorful and full of print this collection is. It’s how I imagine resort collections to be. Some of the shapes are kind of questionable. But overall, fun!
Best thing (besides TLo) to come out of Project Runway. This collection is so gorgeous and I love that the items are shown next to their inspiration and the artist who painted them.
Granted I don’t like all the colour schemes, and some dresses are very editorial but it is cohesive as hell, and I am now fantasy spending a lot of dollars. Also cute shoes.
It’s kind of like they hired the models from the National Scoliosis Foundation. However, the stuff is totally Christian S.
I love the bright colors and prints. Some dresses I’d love to wear for summer. Don’t like the ones with the big ole side flaps, but otherwise very eye catching collection.
He should dress the Fannings. I love the colors in this!
I m loving the pink and red combos. I would like all of them.
Im surprizingly ok with all of this.
It certainly is a happy collection. I love all the drama (if not all the pieces).
The Olsen Twins go on holiday!!
I would love to see Lucy Lui and Kerry Washington in the black with big floral gowns.
So pretty! I wish I could have one of those dramatic skirts….
Wow, this is lots of fun! I really love most of it, and particularly the striped pieces. There’s one dress, though — the “radiant” orchid and peach number that is so hiddy, so out of place, I don’t even understand what it’s doing there.
He does the classically inspired gowns and dresses very well, doesn’t he.
I love the shoes – I would wear these, especially the slingbacks.
They’re all so wearable in real life, I love it!
In the thumbnail I was all “ugh, no thanks”. But then I looked at them and now I want ALL THE DRESSES. ALLLL OF THEM. Dangit.. Good thing they’re way out of my budget.
I’m seeing some Marimekko print influence in some of these, especially the green and white print dresses. Love this whole collection.
I am so impressed with his development. I would, and could, wear just about all of these pieces. I feel like he really understands women’s bodies – not just the model body type – but WOMEN in general. All of these looks could conceivably be interpreted for us curvy girls. His use of color and print here is so smart and fun.
Yes – and he does Fashion w/o being overtly sexy (i.e. revealing tons of skin)
Happy, Bright, Lovely, and very youthful!
Wow. I am coveting a lot of these looks. Too bad I’m about 20 years and 40 lbs too heavy for them. Gorgeous stuff (except the weird pleated side things. Those I can do without).
Hah! At first I thought you meant you ARE about 20 years old. And I thought, “Why does that mean she can’t wear them? What am I missing? Does she think 20ish is too YOUNG for these looks?”
Wonderful color, patterns and shapes…Send him over to DIOR!
Yes yes yes.
For the most part this is a mega-cute collection and I would wear most any of the selections with great pleasure, had I a bottomless pocketbook and time to take off to a resort. Like the shoes, too.
There is a lot of beautiful stuff here! I love most of the dresses, though a lot of the pants outfits don’t work as well for me. It’s refreshing to see a designer who isn’t taking the female form and seeing what he can do to make it be wildly unflattering.
And this is neither here nor there, but that brunette model is stunning. I’m so glad mega-eyebrows are a thing now.
..Can’t comment…. too busy pinning…
This makes wish I were an obscenely wealthy socialite with a house in Palm Beach.
I love that he’s not afraid of color and prints, but a lot of these dresses look like they were made out of beach towels and/or the Von Trapp family curtains.
Love many of these dresses and all of the shoes. But that shade of neon lemon lime grates on me no matter when or where I see it.
I’m not getting the half-pleated skirt thing… Love the colors throughout.
Yeah, especially set on the diagonal and placed like a dropped waist. Not many would be able to work that.
Still one of my favorite PR winners – I love all of this!
I love this. All of it. Even the shoes. That green gown is everything. The colors are fab and I love the textiles. He just keeps getting better and better.
I like a lot of these. I like the effect of the pleated panel on the pink & green skirt, don’t think it works so well on the long champagne/purple skirt. The full folds gathered over one hip he uses in the long full skirts is less obtrusive, but has similar feel. I like the coat? coat dress? with the buttons better than any of the other uses to which he puts that multi-pinks striped fabric. Overall, the long gowns seem most assured. I do love that one in the orange & red on black print.
I tend to “like” and not “love” because I’m not a huge fan of most of the color combos. Unless brought down by the inclusion of black, they are too aggressively bright for me. I know that the pink/green/white variations are preppy/country club standards, and last time I looked at a Lily Pulitzer catalog (a couple of years ago) were all over it. Still, not for me. (And the champagne/purple combo is hideous.)
I loved it more as I scrolled. But if were in a resort and I saw those first two pantsuits walk by I’d probably snork margaritas out of my nose. Though I have a feeling my idea of a ‘resort’ and the one represented in this collection are not the same thing.
Just yelled “Princess Puffy Sleeves!” out loud in my office…that’s not weird, right? Some gorgeous shapes here.
Some of this I love, some of it not so much but I am LOVING the models and their fabulously haughty bitch faces!! You go GURLS
If only Christian could be as talented and innovative as fellow PR alum Michael Costello… man that was a hard sentence to type while laughing…
Overall, this collection is glorious! How refreshing to see one of the Project Runway designers come into his own. What I love about Siriano is that he really sets a goal for each new collection and doesn’t stray from that aesthetic. There are some stunning pieces in this, and while some may be a bit tricky for the average woman-on-the-street to wear, they look fabulous in their effort and execution. Bravo, Christian! Papa Gunn would be proud.
BEHOLD: the Avator 2 red carpet attire
I LOVE ALL THE GREEN! and the PINK TOO! Although I love the print, the second look, with the top and pants looks a lot like a pair of jammies I have.
I think the definition of “Resort” is getting AWFULLY convoluted. I do however love a lot of this.
Gorgeous clothing, but I really think these pieces would have really sung on models with darker skin tones…
I shy away from color in my real life, but in my fantasy FASHION life this collection is right up my alley. Beautiful.
Some nice pieces but could we please NO on the hip curtains?? Is this a thing now?
Some knock-out pieces and fabrics there. Our Princess is past the “one hit wonder” stage! Go get ’em!
some fabulous things here, but i CAN’T with the peach and purple mix. i want to run it over with my color wheels.
I like practically all of this, but some of the colors would look terrible on me. Need more blue and less green.
LOVE this! The tropical stripe ones are my favorite, plus all those fun greens. How gorgeous and fresh
Those colors are eyesearing.
Color! Patterns! Silhouettes! It’s all lovely and largely wearable.
Love, love, love the green gown and the black gown with the green pattern in the skirt. The gown right after it, however. looks like it has bananas all over it–not loving that so much.
I don’t like the last top, which looks rahter out of place in the collection, but I love quite a lot of these looks. Is he getting better every season?
Great use of color and patterns and most it it looks wearable. That striped poncho-ish top with the black pants shirt is fierce!
The prints get a wee bit overbearing, especially in the beginning when all you are getting is print, but I could see the pieces being easily broken up as separates. The gowns are pretty amazing, especially the green ruffled one, but I’ll be the first to admit I don’t get gowns in resort collections.
These are fabulous. And I want to see various people in various different ones here, but the most striking thought is to stick one of the Deschanel sisters in that slinky green gown.
Some of these are a little too literal-retro for my taste, but I think the large prints help bring them into this century. Cute!
Inspired by fruit stripe gum!
This fella just keeps bringing it. I squee every time a new collection comes out.
I just love his thought process and where it leads him. This is wonderful.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
Well, this is all kinds of fresh!
Overall this is fabulous. I’m not wild about the “tacked on” look (pleated panels, etc) but overall the shapes are nice, and the Princess really knows how to cut a gown, doesn’t he? And DEM SHOES!
I ADORE the colors. And the prints are out of this world. Very well done.
these have a great kicky, san tropez retro glamour vibe mixed with a very current, rich young lady feel going on. fun and chic.
Cuuuuuuuute! Super cute! Not wild about the hot pink/flesh tone color combination, and some of the skirts are overdesigned; but the rest? With the prints? And the breezy colors? I really it.
I love them all… even the wonky geometrically shaped ones and even though I am pretty sure the beautiful fabrics are doing most of the work.
I adore this. I even love the frankendresses, god help me.
These just scream Christian Siriano. From a mile away.
Hah! I KNEW that print (green, right?) reminded me of SOMEthing. I kept racking my brain and trying to fully love that set for its vintage vibe. Thanks for the reminder.
NECK. As in why isn’t the brunette giving any. Come ON girl!
Pretty clothes though.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Christian Siriano!
oooh, me likey!
I really love the collection overall, but the one thing that really bothers me is how some of the elastic pockets (ELASTIC. POCKETS.) look like they were just tacked on as an afterthought. If those looked a little more tailored, I would have no complaints.
Ok I know this is old, but after seeing Emily Skeggs in that gown at the Tonys tonight, I need that dress. I think I need it to live.
