That dress is a horrible color to put on a white girl.

    • Sobaika

It sort of immediately goes to dingy and drab. This dress in particular seems like it’d look terrible on most people, though. what’s with the tragic flower neckline? Looks like it was purchased from Michael’s.

      • decormaven

        “Tragic Flower Neckline” FTW.

  • sugarkane105

The dress is hiddy and I’d still rather be her than Taylor Swift Leaving the Gym.

  • thecitysleeps

The fuck is that dress? The colour is terrible, that horrendous neckline and those two strips at the side for no reason? The shoes are fierce though.

    • MilaXX

Those strips on the side look like she forgot to tie the belt.

      • rabswom

It looks like she’s got an invisible backpack.

        • decormaven

Maybe they are ripcords so she can get the hell away from this look. I like her style in general, but this look is no bueno.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

Chloe is too cute to be wearing a sad, drab dress with ripcords.

    • kirkyo

The neckline requires a giraffe’s neck.

  • Martin Leon

The dress is nice but her posture needs improving.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

Maybe those straps are pulling her downward.

  • Julie Chase

It’s like she fashioned a dress out of her grandmother’s burial dress and an old backpack.

    • kimmeister

I totally thought she was wearing a backpack in that first shot.

      • rabswom

        Yes — me too!

  • Danielle

Awful dress for such a pale girl. I can see the liner peeking out from under the skirt in the back.

  • Glam Dixie

It ate her neck and gives her linebacker shoulders. Houston, we have a problem here. Oh, and it’s ugly.

    • Chickadeep

I was just gonna say. Seriously, do we need to put a picture of her neck on the side of a milk carton?

      • Glam Dixie

Won’t someone please help? Dial 1-800-FndMyNk

  • Bozhi

Her neck is not long or thin enough to pull off that neckline.

    • Introspective

i was coming on here to say that her neck is getting eaten by the dress and needs to be freed from that yoke.

  • Anna

    This dress is dumb.

  • Cyprienne Zed

    • Chickadeep

      Worst Nancy Drew mystery ever.

  • Kbear

Odd ugly dress. Suspenders that don’t attach to anything. Looks terrible on the model too. Chloe needs some color.

  • kimmeister

There go those Jimmy Choos again. I’m digging her smile here. Totally non-duck-like.

  • Anna

Why is she wearing a flower girl’s headband around her neck?

    • Kitten Mittons

From the makers of the Bedazzler: The Beflowerer! Add shitty flowers to everything you own. Just like the Stars.
(Disclaimer: Beflowerer is not responsible for ruining any of your clothes. Flowers are permanently attached with no hope of removal without the licensed removal tool, The Deflowerer. Deflowerer sold separately.)

      • Anna

Ha! Mind you, I don’t think The Deflowerer would help the dress either. This calls for extreme measures: The Destroyer.

        • Kitten Mittons

Yes, this one just needs to be made into a cleaning rag. No hope at all.

          • Anna

It looks like a knockoff of the original, you know how certain companies will do “versions” of really popular Oscar gowns for like $150? This looks like that. I don’t understand why the backpack straps are so much longer on Chloe’s version.

          • Sarah

I think they shortened it for her, but left the strappage where it was. So. Odd.

          • Anna

Very odd indeed. I get shortening it to suit her proportions (or to make it look more “youthful” or whatever), but why not even out the strappage. It reminds me of those self-ruching pants that you can turn into capris by pulling the drawstring.

          • Sarah

Me too! I was expecting the dress to have a convertible factor.

          • Anna

If only it could be converted into an entirely different dress!

      • demidaemon

The Deflowere sounds like it may need a few warning stipulations attached to it. Seriously, I can’t look at the word anymore without losing it.

        • Kitten Mittons

Almost as many warnings as the Beflowerer.

At least they learned their lesson. Nobody warned anybody about shit with the Bedazzler, and look how that turned out.

          • demidaemon

Good point. I think there should be Bedazzler recalls and Bedazzler Addiction hotlines and groups.

But the Deflowerer really seems like it would somehow end up in the hands of a rapist who thought it was something else. I do not know why that thought came into my head, but it was there and I needed to express it. Now that I think of it, that whole scenario says SNL skit to me.

          • Kitten Mittons

Marketing should really think these things through.

          • demidaemon

            They should. 😉

      • smayper

        PERFECT. Zing!

  • Stella Zawistowski

Aging and unflattering and why does it have parachute straps?

  • Hoffa_w_HerHead

She is so cute! Why aren’t her clothes?!

  • another_laura

What the hell? The neck / shoulders – blech!

  • Yoshio

All I can think is she’s being strangled by that dress. Not good.

  • lunchcoma

Nothing about this works. Not the neckline, not the fake suspenders, not the attempt to mitigate the sheerness with that beige underdress that’s poking out in back.

    • suzq

In the old days, we called that “snowing down south.”

  • FuhUgh

What are those, built in seat belts? WTF. This is tragic.

  • SAA

Does she have a neck? if so, you’d never know it while wearing that dress… ugh. She’s adorable but the dress, and the entire ensemble is really unfortunate.

  • hughman

She looks like she just parachuted in from Tinkerbelle’s funeral.

    • decormaven

      Bowing down…

    • Tess Tea

      I adore your consistent wit!

  • shirab

Think of all the colorful summery frocks out there that would have looked fabulous on her. What a missed opportunity.

  • alyce1213

Well, it’s nice to see she’s not making duckface. That’s all I got.

  • MilaXX

This is mostly cute, but she has a really short neck. She should never wear dresses with high necklines like this. Other than looking like the dress us cuoking her, she looks nice.

  • frannyprof

    Her boobs look weird.

  • sagecreek

The dress is borderline crappy and she still looks cute as a button.

Oh, youth. I miss you so.

  • Sarah

The weird ass nature of this dress has been sufficiently dissected, so I won’t bother. But I DO wonder what the chickens were wearing on the RC before Chloe got there.

  • MoHub

The bodice is too long, and the skirt is too short compared with the look on the model, so all the black trim bits hit her in the wrong places.

  • Ediths_Head

    FMNO: For models’ necks only.

Although, really, should anyone wear a plastic wreath around her neck?

  • FibonacciSequins

    That’s Not Her Dress.

  • Kent Roby

That designer played a wicked game of darts, then this poor soul put the thing on inside-out. So hiddy.

  • MK03

    That is one weird-ass dress.

  • ashtangajunkie

Pretty cute. Hate the neckline and the mini lei.

  • MinAgain

I believe McGuyver made that dress out of steeped tea, an old air conditioner filter, and a worn-out timing belt.

  • crash1212

She didn’t think to shorted the side ties when she shortened the dress? Weird.

  • Alicia

Ice-dancing tribute to our brave paratroopers.

  • Jennifer Bober

Okay, if you’re going to take up the hem, take up the strappy thing as well. That is a serious case of slap a label on it an someone will buy it.

  • Nancy Marion

No. Those straps make it look like she’s wearing an invisible backpack.

  • lecoffeeaddict

Initial thought: “Is she wearing a backpack?”

    …not good.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Stand up straight for the love of little green apples! Skin-disease dress with gym hair and pathetic afterthought of a design detail at the neck. I kinda like the shoes, but they belong with something sharper and more urban than this.

  • random_poster

I love her make-up and smile. Hair is okay, but nothing else is.

  • Boop

I’m really on the fence about that dress. What is it? The length? (too short) The ribbons dangling on the side? (too long). She’s beautiful tho. The dress looks a bit better on the model. I like the elegance of more length with that style and fabric, but I can’t blame a young pretty actress with great legs wanting to keep it short. But it goes from what could have been elegant to inexpensive party dress from H&M.

  • demidaemon

This girl is so clueless about her style that I can’t even bring myself to critique her anymore. It’s like beating a sick puppy that needs to be coddled instead. Let’s start a “BKs Saving Chloe Moretz’s Style Fund.”

  • TigerLaverada

That business around the neck makes her look like she’s practically neckless. Not a good look. Don’t these people have mirrors?

    • KayEmWhy

I agree, she doesn’t have a long enough neck.

  • marlie

The flowers around her neck are tragic. I want to like the dress, but the whole look needs something to liven it up a bit. But her makeup is pretty.

  • Melmmmendes

I love the ponytail. More ponytails please.

  • smh4748

Luggage straps. You guys can see that too, right?

Because she was in Toronto, I saw photos of her in the newspaper – and she looked adorbs and quite lovely.

  • ellatheingenue

  • quiltrx

This dress may be FMO. I’m not crazy about it on the model, but it’s better on her. I’m thinking an impossibly long, narrow torso is necessary.
And NO to embellishments that look like backpack straps (down to the hanging-down part, even).

  • boweryboy

This is embarrassing. All of it.

  • P M

This look is so ‘homemade sewing project gone WRONG’ .

  • lilazander

It’s a weired dress, the neckline is totally out of the blue, and those “faux suspenders” are just awkward.

  • kmk05

It’s the neckline. This stuff only works on swans or giraffes.

  • IAmJ

Yeah, the dress is no good but at least she’s not making a duck face. Baby steps.

  • Imasewsure

Everything about this dress is awful from the fit to the lace to the neckline and back to the lace (yuck). Still she is such a pretty little thing I can’t hate

  • LeelaST

What an awful look – that necklace, the fabric, the length, the exposed lining, the shoes…

  • ThaliaMenninger

She needs to concentrate on necklines that give her a neck.

  • Sara Leigh Merrey

Why didn’t they shorten the two ribbons on the sides when they shortened the dress for her? On the model, they’re the same length. This just looks like her sash has come untied. Bad dress anyway. What was she (were they) thinking?
