What is that thing around her midsection? It looks like a zip tie.

      • Jessica Freeman

Is it a belt? I can’t tell either.

      • CB

I think it might be a single row of eyelet around the waist?

      • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

        Contestant for world’s thinnest belt.

    • Mrs. Julien

      That face!

      • uprightcitizen

I never noticed before, but in that first pic, she looks so much like Sandra Bullock, it’s amazing. I’m going to add them to my “why hasn’t Hollywood cast them as sisters?” list. Of course they’re on different planes, but still …

        • Jacob Bowen

MY EXACT COMMENT. I do LOVE Angie Harmon though!

    • ninamadeleine

The lace may be over done, but I love that color against her skin/hair. Wonder about the belt decision though?

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Lovely choice of color for Angie, and the lace gives me a very Southern lady vibe, which suits Angie, given her Southern roots.

      • Dorothy & Michael n/a

I don’t think it’s a belt. It looks more like a detail of piping or beading (non-shiny) that bridges the bodice to the skirt. There’s no ‘latch’ to indicate a belt. At least I can’t see one…

    • schadenfreudelicious

Her face is lovely as always, the dress really does nothing for her though…

      • demidaemon

        My exact words. Jinx!

        • schadenfreudelicious

          Great minds!

    • Jessica Freeman

I like it, even if it’s not ground breaking.

      • evave2

I thought it looked like a prom dress, really. Now that doesn’t mean she looks badly, it just means it’s not groundbreaking. I usually see her dressing more stylishly.

    • frannyprof

      She looks… refreshed.

      • kimmeister

Something about her face is freaking me out. I think it’s the tautness.

        • Sarah

The eyes, man. They aren’t…even? I dunno, but it is def. weird.

          • kimmeister

I think the thickness of her inner lid makes her corneas look like they’re pointing outward?

            • Sarah

Yaaasss. Desist pulling on that, lady.

          • Grumpy Girl

But she’s always had that, I thought. Is it looking wonkier?

(She was someone I thought about, as one of my eyes started misaligning, because I always thought she had a straight-ahead look that was not straight.) Trivia: I’ve heard that drives dogs craxy because they look to the right eye, so if it’s misaligned from the other, they are less likely to listen.

            • Sarah

I believe she has always had a slight misalignment of her eyes, but I was more meaning the actual sockets looked uneven. That, combined with the pulling out of shape, has increased the look of asymmetry. Which is all to say: she is quite lovely; no shade intended.

            • Grumpy Girl

Oh shade away. I just wasn’t sure what I was(n’t) seeing. At home/work I am known for that “is it a deer or fallen tree?” type of visual sanity check on what I am/not seeing.

          • Anna

Now I can’t un-see this! I had never noticed before!

        • traceyishere

She has had work done and it’s sad, she did not need it.

    • teensmom99

To compensate for never seeming to age, Angie decided to wear a mother of the bride dress.

    • http://victoriapavlova.com Victoria Pavlova

I like it. She needs bright lipstick though.

    • Noah

I would like this so much more as a knee-length cocktail dress.

      • demidaemon

That would definitely improve it, but I’m not sure it would save it.

    • kimmeister

Cute earrings. I think she could have gone a bit darker with the lip color.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

Does she have a hair contract? If not, it’s a missed opportunity.

    • TinyDynamo

I cannot abide by the high school senior pretty girl hair. The color of that dress is divine, but that hair is just wrecking it for me.

      • Carleenml

        I blame Frozen.

        • TinyDynamo

Do you wanna see a new hairstyle? (sung to the tune of Do You Wanna Build a Snowman, obvs)

    • Glam Dixie

It’s a pretty color on her, I’m stopping there though.

    • MilaXX

It’s okay, not spectacular, but pretty enough.

    • Kitten Mittons

I love the color, but I’m not crazy about the lace. Seems very heavy for what wants to be a summery dress. The pattern isn’t setting me on fire, either. Everything else is acceptable.

    • http://piblet.tumblr.com/ Anastasia

All I see is a red tablecloth from my grandmother’s house, held together with a shoelace.

Angie is gorgeous, but this dress does nothing for me and her makeup artist needs to work on their contouring skills (especially around the nose.) This kitten is BITTER today.

      • Introspective

        shade

    • LadyVimes

I wish it had a wide, black sash with a bow in the back.

    • Anna

Dress is meh, but she’s serving Ali MacGraw from the neck up.

    • JauntyJohn

Her face and her natural poise are doing absolutely all the work here.
I can’t help but wonder, if the lining were a stronger, more complimentary color, would I like this dress more?

    • snarkykitten

Girl, that is not your head. *shudders*

    • Cheryl

I like the dress, not sure what is going on with her hair though. Must be some kind of hairdresser trick to get it to stay on one side without visible fastening devices.

    • BrianaJC

I kind of wish this was a jumpsuit. And that’s something I never thought I’d say!

    • girliecue

The this dress may not have the most groundbreaking or eye-catching design, but it is one of those dresses that remind me why couture is so expensive. The simple cut of the dress is flattering and the fit is impeccable. I love the way it hugs her body then gracefully drapes out at exactly the right point on her hips. The slim and slightly darker strip of lace (I think) at the waist gives both emphasis to the waist and interest to the dress in a very subtle way, without interfering with the clean lines of the dress. The cut work on the lace is impeccable. And the color is stunning on Angie. The quality, detail and work that define couture are there. I have the tiniest quibble about the color of the lining, but at least the dress is lined (looking right at you, RiRi!). Plus, Angie Harmon is so preternaturally gorgeous that what she’s wearing is usually secondary to her breathtaking face anyway.

      • Wink

I keep thinking that the dress ‘needs something.’ But you’re right… the beauty is in its simplicity.

    • Gatto Nero

      Serviceable. The gown needs hemming.

    • http://www.snoskred.org/ Snoskred

She’s on my irrational love list. :) Has to be because of Law and Order which I have always been a fan of..

This is an awesome look for her.

      • Raspberry2012

I will always and forever love me some Abby Carmichael. Angie’s always been at the top of my “If I Were Gay For A Day” list. Did you ever see the “Law & Order”/”Law & Order SVU” crossover ep about the college professor who had been stalking a female student, and while stalking her, sees her fall down in a drunken stupor outside a party, where she hits her head and dies. He then (warning, super gross spoiler), instead of seeing if she’s okay or still alive, he drags her into a garden and has sex with her corpse. Anyhow, at the end when they have him in the interrogation room, they let Abby Carmichael in to tell him what sentences he’ll serve, and it was AWESOME! You can practically see her nostrils flare – this guy was totally creepy and repellant, and you can tell he just disgusts her – she looks like she wants to rip him apart. For such a creepy episode, it’s absolutely one of my favorite “Law & Order” moments, and she sells it.

    • Imasewsure

She’s lovely and the dress is very pretty on her but there is something very “drunk ’70’s pool party” about this that isn’t quite working for me

    • jkatkins

It should be illegal to be that gorgeous. Love the color.

    • H2olovngrl

So…when do she and Sandra Bullock play sisters in a movie together?

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

She was the best ADA on Law and Order. That’s all I’ve got.

      • GillianHolroyd

Bite your tongue. That would’ve been Claire Kincaid.

        • Sarah

I’m rather partial to Casey Novak, but I guess that’s SVU.

          • Raspberry2012

Casey’s okay, but for SVU, I prefer Alex Cabot.

      • Carleenml

yes. and my girl crush forevuh.

        • Raspberry2012

          Yup, mine too, totally!

      • BuffaloBarbara

“No deals for anyone. Let’s hang ‘em all!”

Heh, yes. And of course, her famous lunch introduction when Jack brings her a salad while he has a sandwich. She takes the sandwich and tells him to eat the rabbit food, because she has work to do.

        Ahem. Uh, dress. Pretty?

      • Raspberry2012

She was the best, absolutely. The fact that they replaced her with the utterly bland Serena Southerland was an insult.

    • kmk05

I love it, but I wish her hair had a bit more zuzh and her lips had some lipstick!

    • ChelseaNH

The lace is a little tablecloth-y, but at least it’s seasonally appropriate, plus flattering.

    • Alyssa Ball

For some reason, I was not expecting this to be full length.

    • EveEve

Angie, you’re safe. You can leave the runway.

    • suzq

That’s a gorgeous color and she looks fantastic. I bet the runway version didn’t have a slip underneath, but Angie is not that kind of girl. Lose the clutch, however.

    • ashtangajunkie

The Fragrance Foundation Awards? Kudos to her for even knowing WTF to wear to an event called that.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

It’s a great color on her, doesn’t get lost against the backdrop, and has just enough shape. I wish it had been hemmed and that she had chosen a more summery bag. The sharp corners and metallic look all wrong with this breezy crochet-like dress.

    • Kristi Mitchell

I’m giving her this one, if for no other reason than being seasonally appropriate in both color and style. She looks cute over all, and she doesn’t instantly bring to mind pools of underarm sweat when I look at her.

    • BLauDGaspode

I really like it, but I just wish they had taken off some length.

    • Shelby

      Pretty.

    • nannypoo

      She looks pretty.

    • Denise Rambo

I like that her toes match the dress.

    • marlie

That seam/belt thing is a little distracting, but otherwise she looks stunning. Beautiful summer chic. I love this dress on her.

    • demidaemon

The lining kills this dress. Angie is beautiful, but this dress does nothing for her.

    • maleyneil

ick ick ick to this trypophobia dress. I can’t even look at it.

    • traceyishere

      New face.

    • DuBey2

Love this on her and love the way >her< jewels look. Lately I'm all about how the skin tones & hair color are accented (or not) by the colors of the dress. And, of course, the fit. Always.

    • OffToSeeHim

I love her, I love this dress. She always looks so happy, and that makes me happy.

    • Sunraya

      She looks lovely!

    • kategs

good lord she’s a lovely woman and that color is spectacular on her!

    • MarissaLG

      Beautiful!

    • Raspberry2012

I like this a lot on her. It’s a great color for her, the shape is simple and classic, yet the all over lace detailing gives it enough interest to keep it from being bland. And she’s gorgeous, so it’s not like she needs a ton in the hair and makeup department – it would be overkill.

    • smayper

She looks authentically happy. And I love a strong red on a dark-haired woman.

    • JynxTheCat

Am I the only one who thinks she looks like a longer Sandra Bullock these days?
