Having a hit movie really agrees with Angie.

Because this is a pretty standard Angelina look (except for the fabulously on-point shoes), but she’s positively glowing.  It’s wonderful what success and a good mood can do for your style, isn’t it? She tends to withhold a lot, but she’s really turning it on here. Movie star, bitches. You’re soaking in it.

And no, the bright gold shoes don’t really look right with the dress, but she’s so perky we don’t have the heart to make an issue of it. Especially since we only thought the movie was so-so.

No, we’ll give her this one. It’s not a WERQ, and it’s not even an Attagirl, since it’s so very within her tight little wheelhouse, but she’s proving that not-so-old adage that you’re never fully dressed without a smile. Not to mention that other adage about telling everyone to suck it because of how awesome you are.

      Loving the Dragon Lady nails.

(Is it racist to call them Dragon Lady nails at a photocall in Shanghai?)

      • Jennifer Bober

It’s film appropriate given that she sports what look a lot like dragon wings in the movie.

        • holla

also, she’s not Chinese, so it’s not too faux paz

    • Shawn EH

She ordered those shoes in every single color, didn’t she? Smart girl.

      • gabbilevy

Unless I’ve lost count, this is pair #3. (And they’re custom!) Black, white and now gold. Love it.

        • KES4K

Not just Louboutins, not just multiple colors of Louboutins, but multiple colors of CUSTOM Louboutins. Dayum.

      • Kathy_Marlow

I heard they were custom, very smart to get them to make em in all the colors

        • KateShouldBeWorking

Fingers crossed for a deep dragon green.

          • Alyssa

I’d love to see an oxblood.

            • Kent Roby

I loved the ones with the drops of blood.

          • DebbieLovesShoes

            Oooooo, yes.

      • evave2

Do you know if she approached Louboutin with an idea or if Louboutin already had a pair like that or if Louboutin was approached by somebody else to makes this series of shoes for the movie?

The shoes are so arresting it really doesn’t matter much about her dresses (though I loved the white dress with the birds); I did love the spike thru her ear from an earlier premiere/photo call for the movie.

        • Shawn EH

I don’t know who approached who, but I do know this Maleficent poledance has been very meticulously planned for its two ladystars.

    • Latin Buddy

I watched that crappy movie…and like you two, I gasped when I saw Angie on screen. She MADE that damn movie IN SPITE of the film, story, Elle Fanning.

    • http://tvblogster.blogspot.com Boop

She’s stunning. And from what I hear, a truly lovely person. Glad to see her success and love her look here. She even lights up Shanghai’s polluted skies.

    • sugarkane105

Angie looks fine. Dat backdrop though. I need to visit Shanghai.

      • kimmeister

You might need to bring a gas mask.

    • berkeleygirl

She’s looked like this ever since her mastectomies. It doesn’t hurt that she’s already being touted as an Oscar contender for Best Director next year. I’d add that, though still thin, I’m no longer in fear for her health. She sure has come a long way from Billy Bob!

    • Danielle

      Those shoes SLAY me.

    • hughman

Business up top, Party in the pump. Werq.

    • Sarah

It DOES agree with her. She’s looking radiant.

    • Patricia Groves Dobrowski

Is it me, or does it appear she’s dressing as one of the ravens in the movie this time?

    • Maggie

IMO, Angie was the only reason to watch that movie. What a screen presence she has!

    • Thomas

She looks luminous. Wish she wouldn’t default to black so much though, even if it fits the movie. Maleficent had purple and green in her outfit you know!

    • NMMagpie

      The ring is epic.

    • teensmom99

Love the on point shoes-they are the shoe embodiment of a Disney villainess. As to movie starness: my older, wealthier sister was once staying in the same fancy European hotel as brangekina & she said you cannot believe how they exuded star power & were gorgeous.

      • alyce1213

I once saw Robert Redford going up an escalator at a theater, and he was GLOWING from within and without – star power.

        • teensmom99

Same is true for Melanie Griffith who was striking when I saw her. I once saw Jackie O & 1st noticed the aura & then realized who it was.

          • judybrowni

And , believe it or not, Tom Cruise when I saw him in person 20 years ago.

            • teensmom99

Not, ahem, a Cruise fan but I can believe it.

      • fursa_saida

Lainey at LaineyGossip said the same. Also for Matt Bomer.

    • NinjaCate

LOVE the shoes. Wish the the sleeves were gone. But Uncles TLo are right. The outfit is pretty standard but her very obvious joy is making the look sing.

    • Wink

Anyone looking for a black dress — long, short, with or without sleeves — and can’t find one? Go to Angie’s house. She has ALL of them in her closet!

    • @Biting Panda

It’s lovely to see her looking so vibrant, even while in black.

    • MilaXX

I don’t mind that the shoes don’t match. Where else are these Loubies gonna be worn? It is nice to see what feels like a genuine smile from her.

    • Shalhevet

Wow. It’s amazing how her face is transformed. Just amazing. Why pout when you can do this? Mind boggling.

Something’s bugging me a little about the bust. At some angles it seems to give her a strange shape. Is it just me?

    • decormaven

Especially like the outdoor shots. She’s working this look- what a great smile.

    • JP

Not as beautiful as the white dress with the ravens, but she looks happy.

      • Lori

The white dress was great on her. It would be tough for her to top that, even if she wasn’t the person who inspired “pulling a Jolie.”

    • alyce1213

I don’t know how she’s even standing up, much less looking happy and smiling. These premiere schedules are murder. She looks great, from her hair to those amazing shoes.

      • StellaZafella

And this time she’s got the kids with her…She said “They’re out at a cooking class learning to cook dim sum”, I want her for MY mommy.

        • shirab

I often wonder if they travel with a tutor, or if they are enrolled in an international online elementary school or some such. The oldest four if not all six have been school-age for a while, and they always seem to be in different cities each month, and not just on the weekends.

    • BobStPaul

Hate the shoes but she looks great.

    • marlie

I love how she has those shoes in every color. And this is “standard” Angie, but it’s not a shapeless smock, so I’m fine with it.

    • ktr33

I’m the outlier here, I guess… I am so sick of those curly novelty witch shoes she’s been wearing throughout the whole pole dance, and she does not look healthy to me, and I am rarely one to say a celeb looks “too thin” unless they look sickly. Her legs are no longer shapely; they look scrawny. Yikes, in that 2nd photo she looks insane to me.

    • FancyPhilly

I have a very similar dress that I wore to an event once and never wore again because it felt a bit matronly to be honest. This proves how amazing she is, this looks edgy and awesome, not matronly at all.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

Oh, look. Angie is wearing black. Great shoes, but not for that dress.

    • http://www.jaimieteekell.com/ Jaimie

Wow. I think I like her now. The movie then this. What’s happening?

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

Did her luggage get lost and this was a last minute fix? SHE looks great!

    • ashtangajunkie

She’s glowing! I love this Angie.

    • traceyishere

If she wore black shoes you would have said it was dull as dishwater.

    • t bell

The dress though understated looks fine. Some flashy shoes would have looked nice but unfortunately she chose gilded horse’s hooves instead.

    • Trickytrisha

I wonder if she wears one version of those shoes to bed, or may Louboutin made her some comfy house slippers in that style. Ya think maybe I’m sick of seeing them on her?

    • bessann28

Sorry, but those are some fugly shoes.

    • LadyVimes

But those SHOES. I need her entire pole dance collection.

    • Joycelyn Watterson-Woods

Red lipstick, please, Angie! For the children! Put on some red lipstick and smile and wave…loving this pole dance

      • Gloriana Reginata

She wore enough red lipstick in the movie – which was fine for her as an older character, but was rather off-putting on the child-actor who played her pre-teen self.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Damn, but Angie is glowing here. I always like a good basic black dress.

    • Tricia

      In love.

Those shoes. I will never get tired of those shoes.

    • SewingSiren

Wow! three pairs gold, white, and black! They must be comfy.

    • Nancer

Wow, I can’t remember the last time I saw her with such a genuine smile at a photo shoot or red carpet. Let’s face it, she is amazingly beautiful at all times, but that smile! It is really something.

      • decormaven

Today is her birthday- saw it in the paper. This must be an especially sweet birthday for her.

        • Nancer

Happy Birthday to Angie! I wish MY birthdays made me smile like this…. :]

    • AnaRoW

I think she’s been much happier since she came back from surgery. She was like a new person at the Academy Awards.

    • DeniseSchipani

She’s clearly a beautiful woman, you can’t argue that, but I always maintain that she looks, often, like her own wax statue. Except with that lovely genuine smile!

    • Raspberry2012

Let’s face it – pretty much everything agrees with Angie! And the outfit is simple, but still on point. Love it!

    • Lucas

She looks great in these photos! Like, she’s starting to look healthy again. Yay :)

    • ktr33

Am I alone in being completely sick of those curly witch shoes with plastic inserts that’s been wearing this entire poledance (first time I’ve used that term; I’m a real BK now!) and that she lOoks kind of insane in the 2nd pic? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

    • judybrowni

      The shoes in silver, perhaps?

    • Joanna

I think what strikes me most about these pics is that she looks different in a good way – her make up is a little more natural, and I think that it really suits her.

    • Gorengirl

She is beautiful but even more so when she smiles. The shoes are Killer! I saw the movie and I really enjoyed it.

    • Drunken Housewife

I would stab a trick to get those shoes. WANT. SHOES.

    • Alfred Cox

Them shoes are flawless. Everything else is unworthy of discussion. But still. Them. SHOES.

    • DuBey2

Now she needs to play villainesses all the time so she’ll have a reason to always dress in all black. Hopefully with those shoes and more like them!

    • Akemi

      Those shoes are fantastic!
