    • Tricia Rose

Love this girl so much!! This is perfectly charming and wonderful!

    • geans

Love this. So poised and talented and stylish. We’ll all be living on planet Shipka soon.

      • Twigg

I for one, welcome my Shipka overlord.

    • Glam Dixie

The top seems like it could be fitted a bit better in the bust area, but overall, I love this.

      • MishaFoomin

It’s a “my boobs hate each other” top. Even looks that way on the model. Blame the designer.

        • Glam Dixie

Yeah, but it looks lumpy where it goes under her arms and just off a bit in the whole bust area. At least the one on the model is smooth.

        • MoHub

It’s a typical Pilotto “I have no concept of the shape of the female body” top.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

It might be one of those tops that is intended to stand away from the body, but it is a tad wonky. That said, this is one Peter Pilotto look that is working for me.

        • Glam Dixie

It’s not that it’s standing away from her body, but the odd lumps and how it looks too loose where it goes under her arms. I do love the look though.

          • bitchybitchybitchy

It may be the case that it’s poorly fitted for Shipka, then.

        • Constant Reader

I’m a newbie seamstress and even I can see that those bust darts are poorly placed. What were they thinking? That said, it’s an adorable outfit — age appropriate and fun.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

Forget looking like the child of Hamm and Jones, she also looks like she could be the biologically impossible spawn of Emma Watson and Alicia Silverstone.

      • sugarkane105

Isn’t my house classic? The columns date all the way back to 1972.

        • Ginger

That’s Ren and Stimpy. They’re way existential.

      • pop_top

For the longest while I’ve been thinking about how awesome it would be for her to play the younger sister of an Emma Watson character, but the Alicia Silverstone add-in is genius.

    • @Biting Panda

      Isn’t she delightful?

      • Jessica

Such a breath of fresh air.

    • MrsAtaxxia

I love the subtle pin-striping on the bodice. It’s a nice way to reference baseball without being overly literal.

    • Alicia

That’s possibly the least hideous Peter Pilotto I’ve ever seen – and she’s making it work.

      • jen_vasm

Absolutely! This outfit has made me step back from the ledge I was about to figuratively throw Pilotto off of for annoying me with his too-tricky designs.

        • Alicia

He’s still on my watchlist for crimes against couture.

          • decormaven

Stay vigilant; he’s out there, perpetrating as we speak.

          • jen_vasm

Yeah, you’re right. Most likely a stay of execution. Live to see one more day, Pilotto!

          • MaggieMae

I cannot even think straight when it comes to PP. Irrational hate much like the collective BK attitude towards Stella McC.

          • GSMSF

He’s on my watchlist for that model. She is the most miserable looking woman, why did they send her out onto the runway?

      • MK03

I think she’s the only person on Earth who can wear his stuff without looking ridiculous.

        • Chickadeep

If she can make anything from the recent Prada collections look decent, or make me not hate Stella McCartney, I’ll know she’s some kind of advanced Fashion Life Form and not just a starlet with a good stylist.

    • Ganoc

Her eyebrows. Ugh, they’re so perfect.

    • lamamu

That ensemble would easily be a disaster on anyone else. Miss Kiernan makes it sing!

    • alyce1213

Not my favorite outfit, but she looks sweet in it. I guess I’m just going to have to get used to Kiernan wearing 5″ spikes. Sigh . . . how quickly they grow up.

      • Alisa Rivera

I don’ t like the shoes, not because they’re high but because they’re naked. A more substantial sandal would work better.

      • kimmeister

I still think the heel height is a bit much for her tender age.

        • Vee

I was thinking the same thing. She looks cute, but she is still a child. It’s the same thought with Willow Smith. Yes, I get the whole “you own your person” version of child rearing, but I think that some boundaries should be noted. She is a child and five inch heels on a child still rub me the wrong way. I have a 19 year daughter and we started the “heel training” slowly, now she rocks the high ones same as me.

          • sugarkane105

I still remember 10-year-old me begging my mom for some very high platform heels (in the Spice Girls heyday). She relented, only to sit back and watch me tumble to the ground the very first moment I put them on at home. Never wore them again lol.

            • Vee

LOL. we had lessons in the house, if you can walk, sit and bend down like a lady, you weren’t ready. There are some girls at my work who still aren’t ready. Walking around like they are wearing clodhoppers.

    • Jane Donuts

      Spot on. Go Kiernan!

    • KinoEye

Lord help me, I love it. Even if it is by Fugmaster Pilotto. Of course, Kiernan is making it work for me. Her head looks lovely as always.

      • Sarah

An old friend of mine posted a TBT photo of four of us from high school on FB today, and I was surprised to find that (barring the fashions) we all looked Shipkalike. We all had naturally smooth and pretty plump lips, porcelain skin, and apple cheeks, and two of us even sported fierce brows. She is undeniably lovely, but man, that YOUTH is a powerful thing.

        • Alicia

It really is. It’s how young people get away with wearing their generation’s iteration of horrible clothes.

          • Sarah

Oh hell yeah. We were at something my friend called the “Senior Splash Bash” (I have zero recollection) and we were wearing some odd combination of DeBarge costumes and swimwear, but we all looked radiantly beautiful.

        • zenobar

Ah yes. The firm, dewy flesh of youth.

I’m also reminded of a someecard that hit me where I live: “I wish I was as skinny as I was back when I thought I was fat.”

          • Sarah

Hah, so true. I weighed like a buck thirty back then and was horrified, thinking I was OBESE. Stupid, silly girl.

            • zenobar

Yep, that was me too, right down to the buck-thirty. Dysmorphic Twinsies! *shakes head sadly*

I have a 14-year-old daughter and guess what…it’s so much worse nowadays. It has quickly forced me to get over my own shit so I can be a better role model to her. *chews sensibly-prepared salad sadly*

          • Shug

I know, right?! I had a bangin’ body and questionable mental health in high school.

            • SparkleNeely

Yeah that’s what happens when Hollyweird and Madison Avenue shape your thinking. I stopped reading fashion magazines when my daughter was 3. Luckily, I only wanted to copy the hairstyles and makeup of popular people then, instead of the body issues. I remember wanting to look like Genie Francis, Laura from General Hospital. I wanted her hair!

    • Jessica Freeman

Considering it’s not a very attractive dress, she is making it work. Bless.

    • sugarkane105

Is it weird that I envy a 14-year-old’s eyebrows? I think it may be weird.

      • alyce1213

        I envy her eyelashes. I’m guessing they’re real w/mascara.

        • MilaXX

I think the lashes may be false. If not I envy them more than her fantastic brows.

          • alyce1213

Maybe so, looking again. I have general eyelash envy.

            • MilaXX

Ardell wispies give you a more natural look. On the rare occasions I wear my contacts, those are my lash of choice because the’re more realistic looking.

        • Qitkat

I’m going to go with real. Long lush eyelashes run in my family; I’ve got grandsons whose lashes look just like hers, with no mascara 😉

          • Twigg

Why do boys always get the best lashes?

            • Qitkat

I dunno, lucky DNA, but garners lots of attention as cute toddlers 😉

      • Julie Chase

Not weird. I routinely covet them.

    • Julie Chase

She is the prettiest little lady in all the land.

    • mlurve

Gorgeous, and so perfect for spring!

    • numenah

She’s a cutie, but the top is too low and the heels too high to my mom’s eyes. It is, however, the only Peter Pilotto I’ve ever liked.

    • Jessi03

Look at that hair! That posture! She really is just perfection, isn’t she?

      • Qitkat

        Pretty, Poised, Posture, Perfection, Pilotto!

        • Kitten Mittons

I’m fanning myself over your fantastic alliteration.

          • Qitkat

            Merci :)

    • KayEmWhy

She’s making this ugly dress work. It’s age appropriate.

    • smayer

Who thought a Peter Pilotto could look cute?

    • ashtangajunkie

It figures that the only person who can WERQ a Peter Pilotto design is the magical Kiernan Shipka.

    • Kim Elmore

Are you kidding me? IMO, this girl is one of the best dressed women in the world. Damn, nails it every time.

    • Kiltdntiltd

She looks better than the model does.

    • deelup

      This makes me happy.

    • NBG

How is it possible that this girl (and her team) found the exact right look for a film premiere with an AstroTurf “red carpet”?

(Seriously, she is rocking subtle pinstripes at a baseball movie!)

That’s some PhD level work right there.

    • Qitkat

The camera loves her, doesn’t it?

    • MilaXX

She looks good and she knows it. Total “Be Me”.

      • alyce1213

How am I (are we) gonna handle it if/when Kiernan shows up in her first “Do Me” look? I’m having a hard time with the very high heels (I’m a broken record on that) as it is.

        • MilaXX

I just remind myself that kid celebs age faster than non celebs.

        • marlie

I just hope she doesn’t hit us with the “Do Me” the second she turns 18. I think I’d need to gradually learn to accept that.

          • SparkleNeely

Crazy, right? When I was 15, this would have been a Do Me look, in 1981. Yes, I’m old. Is it me or have things just gotten a whole lot trashier?

            • marlie

I don’t know… I don’t actually consider this look “trashy” though. Some might think that a v-neck and thin straps are too mature, but this doesn’t read as overtly sexual to me (and the difference between the two is pretty narrow). THAT’S what I’m afraid to see on her (eventually).

        • SparkleNeely

Ditto on the shoes. Where is her mother? Ready with a lecture. Hmmmmm…

    • boweryboy

She’s adorable as always, but tha dress is a big, fat NO.

      • demidaemon

I agree on both points. Her adorability, however, is being distinctly challenged by the NOness of the dress.

    • smh4748

I’m not wild about the dress–if it were on an adult, I’d complain about how it messes with a person’s shape. But since she’s a young teen, I’m actually ok with her not trying to emphasize a certain body shape. So maybe she is really one of the few who can appropriately wear this dress.

How is she pulling off those shoes? I’ve got a decade and a half on her, and I’m pretty sure I’d kill myself trying to walk in those, especially on Astroturf.

    • holla

She looks perfect. Miss Lea can learn a thing or two from her.

    • Terri Terri

She’s always so poised, I can’t get over it! I don’t think she can take a bad photo.

    • Feral Fremen

That face is so damn fresh!!! Love!

    • malarson2

All you young wannabes – and even some of you older ones – THIS is how you look stylish, pretty, and age appropriate. Not at all slutty and I’m pretty sure if you saw her get out of a limo, she wouldn’t be flashing anything other than those shiny shoes.

    • tallgirl1204

I can’t decide if I like the hair– from a distance, it just looks mussed. Up close, it looks very calculated and on-purpose, and is very cute!

      • Imasewsure

Same reaction… I didn’t like it until the close up. I do think it works with the breezy styling overall (and it’s age appropriate)…

    • Imasewsure

The dress is surprisingly cute but not liking the shoes. Yes they work but they are boring with that somewhat edgy dress

    • bluefish

Love the outfit, hair, purse, etc. A bit young for those heels, though. Still … adorable.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

She’s making this weird little outfit work. She’s really heads above any of the 14 year olds I know. (Ok, so where’s Hamm?)

    • Fuchsiaforever

For me it’s a TEEN WERQ!

    • CeeLayton

This young woman just does not make mistakes. I’m sure she’s eager to wear those type of shoes, and if they were paired with anything the least bit risqué looking, I may have an issue. Here, just none. That skirt is crazy cute.

    • Mothra

OMG she is so adorable I’m not even going to ask where her hairbrush is because she is WERKING the hair! One of the most appealing things about Shipka is that she’s often smiling and honestly looks to be having a good time. That is a very attractive piece of style that a lot of younger actresses could emulate more often.

    • LaSylphide

She looks adorable, as always, but I just don’t like the top and skirt. They don’t look fashionable, they just look sloppy and poorly made. I like the shoes, but not on somebody her age; for old fogeys like me, she’s too young for FM heels: two inches lower would be better.

    • Anathema_Device

Everything is perfect. She looks amazing. What a beauty! (P.S. Love the fabric on that skirt!)

    • MannahattaMamma

I think she’s not old enough for those shoes. She’s quite beautiful (Grace Kelly, anyone?) but that outfit doesn’t do nothin’ for nobody.

    • Danielle

Peter Pilotto just can’t help himself, can he? Love the headsuit.

    • ReadBarbara

She looks so much better in that outfit than the model. Might it be more age appropriate for her? The clutch looks really out of place to me, though. Looks like she grabbed a sparkly jewelry box off granny’s nightstand.

    • bayusc

She GETS IT. Other starlets, take notes!

    • MinAgain

Such a beautiful skirt, but I can’t say I really like the shape of the top (don’t like it on the model, either). Good shoes and bag, though.

    • CMCH

I’ve got to give credit: However much people may complain that she’s far too young for the 4.5″ stilettos, her makeup and hair are always perfect for her age – fresh and appropriate, and never trying to look 23.

      • colleenjanel

I have to admit that I feel really weird about someone her age wearing stilettos, but she definitely has the poise to pull them off.

        • Gatto Nero

Though I worry about the state of her feet in about ten years.

    • Anna

So cute and sweet! I love Kiernan! The top is just an inch or two too low for her age (sorry, I’m a prude when it comes to the youngin’s), but overall, it’s perfect for her!

    • ThaliaMenninger

I think this outfit works on her because she is so young and not curvy. On anybody else, it would look icky, but she pulls it off. And meanwhile.. I can haz Edie Parker clutch?

    • Kitten Mittons

She is perfection, as always. The name of this movie reminds me of that recent quote by the Clippers’ owner’s girl: “I’m his right hand…arm…man.” Also perfection, of a different sort.

      • marlie

That stuff has been cracking me up for days now.

        • Kitten Mittons

She is the gift that keeps on giving.
“I am his silly rabbit…..I am his everything.”

          • marlie

“His silly rabbit? Is that what he calls you?” “No, that’s what I call myself.”

            • Kitten Mittons

Reporter: Did you know Donald Sterling had prostate cancer?
V: Oh, I love your shoes!

            • Jacob Bowen

Seriously I was uncontrollably crying after I heard that line…I’m pretty sure it was a good half hour till I could recover.

    • Kathy

This child is poise personified. Love huh!

    • nycfan

The top is all wrong for her, too mature or just cut wrong, not sure which, but my mom siren went off with the combo of the shoes and top. Adore the skirt and probably the entire outfit if the bust were different. But wrong shoes for this girl, to my eyes.

      • Robin Murray

        Love “mom siren.”

      • BLauD

Haha, I almost wrote this exact comment. My mama heart wanted to send her back up to her room right this instant.

    • rloliveira

She looks like a beautiful summer’s day.

    • MaggieMae

Her head is so cute! That loud sound was my heart sinking and hitting the ground when I read “Kiernan” + “in Peter Pilotto”. Go away Pilotto, go away.

      • P M

“Her head is so cute!” LOL

        • MaggieMae

It’s not original! I picked it up from the BKs. 😀

    • Malia C.

I want those heels (but I have to admit, she seems a bit too young for them, in my old lady eyes).

    • Gatto Nero

She looks cute, fresh, and summery.
But those are hella high heels for a 14 year old.

    • marlie

She looks pretty adorable. Very cute and summery.

    • YoungSally

Sorry for showing my age and ignorance – but is the million dollar arm part of the Six million dollar man?

      • Babyboomer59

No. Its a movie about baseball players from india . Based on a true story.

    • crash1212

This kid is such a pro. Gorgeous, as usual. I sincerely hope that nobody ever influences her to touch those perfect brows.

      • P M

        They give her character!

    • LeelaST

Why is this person/brand/entity Peter Pilotto allowed to make clothes – they always look tricky and awkward. Kiernan’s pulling it off though (aside from those bust darts – very odd) – she’s adorable & sophisticated.

    • Jahna Peloquin

Love the silver sandals. Glad to see the gal back in fighting form after that wee little slip-up.

    • demidaemon

Nice try, Kiernan, but this an ugly, ill-fitting, unflattering dress. In other words, a quintessential Peter Pilotto. The only thing good about it is the color scheme.

    • KCF

This girl has got it going on.

    • ktr33

I was all smiles till I got to the last pic and saw the shoes from the back. As the mother of a tween girl, it made me sad to see those shoes on a teenager. Even 1.5 in shorter. Or why not a nice kitten heel for our Kitten?

    • PastryGoddess

She loves a good naked shoe doesn’t she. I wonder if her team doesn’t realize how age inappropriate they actually are. Or maybe they do and don’t care

    • Trickytrisha

First time I’ve felt she was playing dress up in grown up clothes. Yes, those shoes are way inappropriate and the dress isn’t up to her usual standard. Face and hair are stellar though.

    • Zeee

She is freaking adorable, but I don’t think this silhouette is very flattering – for anyone.

      • P M

That’s because the skirt is, in fact, a tablecloth.

        • Zeee

          The top is wacky too.

    • Aurora Leigh

She actually made Peter Pilotto work. I am in awe.

    • Tanya Wade

She is so perfect it hurts.

    • Man Dala

This girl is stunning. She knows how to WERQ it too.

    • siriuslover

      1. She’s beautiful; 2. she really knows how to dress; 3. she could be Emma Watson’s baby sister.

    • judybrowni

Unlike the model, Kiernan had washed her hair, and is not manic depressive.

And she’s cute as a button in that outfit.

      • Mousentrude

I would prefer it if the term manic depressive were not used based on someone’s physical appearance. It’s true that the model looks miserable as sin and Kiernan’s smile definitely helps the outfit… it doesn’t mean the model has a mental health disorder :)

    • Swiftlytiltingplanet

Oh. Just…oh. Kiernan is just…oh. And she makes it look so easy.

    • Babyboomer59

She is utterly adorable but I cringed when I saw the shoes. Please wait a bit longer dear and enjoy being the sweet young girl you are. Love the blue color on her!

    • Nancy Daniels

      She looks wonderful!!

    • suzq

Ms. Shipka: I think I’m ready to tackle Peter Pilotto.
Stylist: I don’t know, Kiernan, Pilotto has ruined many a fashionista.

She nailed it. How she walks in those shoes, however….

    • Coco Cornejo

How old is she? 14? Something about that first shot makes her look so so much older. Don’t grow up too fast honey.

    • CT14

I recoiled in horror at the caption: Kiernan and PILOTTO? NO!

But she looks cute. Somehow she is wearing Pilotto and not looking hideous. He should pay her. Lots.

    • melanie0866

      She’s so perfect.

    • gefeylich

Perfect. How can she know herself so well at such a young age? Her fashion intuition is impeccable. If she doesn’t continue acting as an adult, she should go the Olsen/Beckham route and found her own fashion house.

    • James

I can not get enough of her! She always looks absolutely stunning and appropriate!!! Other girls her age need to take note!!!
