RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 Reunion Show Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on May 08, 2014

Gag on the eleganza, bitches.

Courtney Act, Adore Delano, Bianca Del Rio

They look great, but we’re going to give this one to Courtney. We’re tired of seeing Bianca in the same outfit all the time and Adore looks like she made that dress in the workroom with spit and a hot glue gun.

Too bitchy? Let’s keep going.

April Carrion

Fabulously weird.

A little chintzy looking, but fun.

Darienne Lake

A better gown than half her show entries.

Gia Gunn

Dude in a dress. The top part is interesting, but that skirt is tragic and she could use some cinching action.

Joslyn Fox

 Bless her heart.

Kelly Mantle

Laganja Estranja

Better than anything she wore on the show.

Magnolia Crawford

 Gay Bingo drag.

The makeup’s scary, but if she brought that kind of glam to the competition, she would have lasted longer.

Trinity K. Bonet

 That’s pretty spectacular.

Girl, if you’re gonna dress like that, you can’t finish it off with Mother of the Bride shoes. Come on now.

A couple of tributes to Divine it looks like…

    • Jessie Melcher Brown

Can you picture Devine as a judge on the show? Would have been fabulous!

      • Cambel

Ru would say “Spit that Dog Crap out of your mouth and say something!” 😉

        • Kent Roby

I just threw up a little!

      • StillGary

That makes me wonder why the Lady Chablis has never been on.

  • Karen Belgrad

Trinity’s outfit reminds me of one of those bikini-body t-shirts you buy on Venice Beach.

Adore with dark hair is striking. The dress may not be the best, but it amps up her polish about 50%

    • Jacob Bowen

It is the sexy version of Delta Work’s outfit.

    • NinjaCate

That’s exactly what I thought about Trinity’s dress! The tits looks painted onto the fabric.

      • Eric Stott

I think they are- it’s a clever illusion dress. Marlene Dietrich did something similar in her late years- a sequined illusion dress with a shaded body stocking underneath that gave the appearance of partial nudity.

        • Leah Elzinga

when you think about it, I’m surprised starlets don’t employ a more subdued version of this more often. Think about it: they could add all the contouring and whatnot that they wanted (subtly one would hope), then the illusion netting goes over top to diffuse the whole thing and soften it down so it looks “real”. I know body stockings already exist, but this would really take it up a notch… It’s like really advanced body makeup without the mess and that’s able to be reused… where IS my Kickstarter plan?! this already exists doesn’t it?

          • Eric Stott

I suspect it would get grossly overused, like those huge silicon Boobs For Queens that everyone was flaunting a couple seasons ago.

        • Kent Roby

That sounds similar to Thierry Mugler’s costumes for Zumanity, where he did alot of shading with various colors of rhinestones to mimic nudity. I “borrowed” the idea for a male Mardi Gras costume, where I made a nude sheer bodysuit and then stoned it to emphasize abs and pecs.

          • Alloy Jane

A couple of guys I worked with did a 5k and took a group shot afterwards. One of them drew on a six pack. They showed the pic to me and I could not stop laughing.

          • Kent Roby

On, Hunty; in my crowd we paint on abs to go to mass!

          • Alloy Jane

            That’s amazing, you’ve made my day 🙂

    • Trinity’s dress was stunning live.

  • Jessica Freeman

I never watched the show, but that shit on Courtney’s head bugs.

    • leahpapa

I just started watching last night, and girl, GAG. It both perfects and transcends the reality-show competition form. I really don’t care for most reality programming (enough already with the cakes, hoarding, abusive moms, storage units, exploited little people, cats from hell, cougars with personality disorders, dog whispering, racing [amazing or otherwise], dancing with has-beens and never-weres, etc.). But it’s hard to overstate how knowing, subversive (as TLo said last week), and compulsively watchable this show is.

That said, Vivacious is serving Bib Fortuna realness here.

ETA: When I say I started watching last night, I mean I started at a reasonable hour and finally turned the TV off many, many hours later and dragged myself to bed. I’m quite sleep deprived this morning 😉

      • Jessica Freeman

I should rephrase and say, I did watch whatever season was available on Netflix and I enjoyed it. I don’t have cable…but I still read the TLo recaps because honestly TLo could write a review on toilet paper and I would read it.

        • leahpapa

Can you imagine a “Mad Style” version of a toilet paper review? “Quilting again! We’re pretty sure this means lint will occur. Or adultery.”

        • The show is available to watch online the next day on the LOGO website. That’s how I watch. No cable necessary!

          • leahpapa

Yep, no cable here, either, but it’s on Hulu.

        • Kent Roby

I’m just now starting over on Mad Men (only watched the first season when it aired), but I’m enjoying it even more because of the current TLo recaps.

    • Qitkat

I never watch the show either, but April’s entire look really is pretty fabulous and creative.

    • Eric Stott

I love how the top of her wig has been stuffed into the tiara-thing.

      • Kent Roby

It looks like she just put that on top of the wig. I particularly love the tradition of drag pageant winners wearing giant rhinestoned tiaras with giant hair piled up and over the crowns, like vines growing in and around a bucket.

    • Kent Roby

Perhaps that’s the crown they give Australia’s Next Drag Superstar.

  • Aurora Leigh

Laganja still looks annoying as shit.

    • demidaemon

It would take miracles for her to not look annoying as shit.

      • Eric Stott

Shit is less annoying than her.

        • demidaemon

          Yes. Yes indeed.

      • KateShouldBeWorking

Only a power outage would make her look less annoying.

        • demidaemon

What if she glows in the dark? (A distinct possibility!)

          • KateShouldBeWorking

          • demidaemon

And her mouth doesn’t shut, either, and her trachea seems to have a built in loudspeaker.

          • KateShouldBeWorking

            Why are you hurting me?!?

          • demidaemon

I’m sorry! But I must prepare you so you know when to run!

          • KateShouldBeWorking

You went too far; I’m in the fetal position, crying.

    • WESCOBear

  • Vanessa

Is Ben delaCreme a tribute to Divine, or is it me?

    • Eric Stott

I see what you mean, but not nearly tacky enough for Divine.

    • Snailstsichr

I thought it was a tribute to Barbie – my Barbie totally wanted to look like this. Or am I the only one who had tons of pink Barbie clothes?

    • StillGary

Ben’s had breast augmentation — I’m sure of it!!!

  • MK03

I see Gia has once again defaulted to the “standing and posing equals personality” school of drag…

    • Eric Stott

That’s her strong suit – being pretty but inert.

      • Alex Gabriel

        Well, half of it anyway.

      • StillGary

        pretty inert (snort)

  • Eva_baby

I see Adore has graduated to a slightly better class of wig. Her make up looks nice. Clothes still looks like a cross between Deb and Forever 21, though.

    Courtney give good face.

Trinity looks great. I am surprised (in a good way) by Milk.

Sigh. I am not surprised by Laganja.

    • Eric Stott

I’m kind of liking Laganja’s hair.

  • BlairBear

I see Laganga had been reunited with weed and can now looks rehinged

  • MitchellGilburne

The reaction to Kelly is perfect, considering she looks a bit like a resident of Whoville.

As for vivacious, let her be, she’s perfect.

    • But where is Ornacia??

      • MitchellGilburne

        She’s mooning you!

    • JimMcC

Indeed. Bless her crazy heart. I couldn’t help but love her. On the flip side, as much as I can’t stand Laganja, she looks pretty outstanding here.

  • Eric Stott

I wondered what Joslyn Fox would look like if she wore a gown……..well, now I know she looks better as a boy.

    • Kent Roby

      • Eric Stott

        and proud of it.

    • jackiejormpjomp

It looks like Joslyn shaded her makeup in solidarity with the man she had to makeover for the wedding episode.

      • demidaemon

Sadly, even before that, I think her make-up skills were a bit questionable.

  • Paigealicious

I’m guessing Milk is going for Madge realness?

    • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

I though it was more Lady Bunny realness…

      • Kent Roby

Lady Bunny would pile 8 more wigs on before combing them out.

        • Eric Stott

          • I don’t think that was a read – Bunny’s hair is almost the same size as the rest of her body (I said almost).

    • what not

      Exactly what I was thinking.

  • Sugarbeetle

Courtney’s serving some Rachel Zoe realness.

  • AC Simons

Darienne looks great. I’m bummed that she didn’t make the top three. Adore’s pantyhose and hoof shoes are awful, but the makeup is fierce. I love Bianca, but girl, that’s the same old same old. Courtney is finally wearing darker lipstick – it’s so much better than that washed out Barbie (and not on the grill) look.

    • VicD

those tights on Adore are terrible! But it does look like she’s amped up her look overall.

  • Kent Roby

So now black is the new orange? I can’t keep up.

  • Glam Dixie

I really like Trinity, but she looks awful here, and those shoes! Every time I see Magnolia Crawford I get a flashback of Bianca miming using her nose to turn pages in a book. Milk looks pretty spectacular, Gia, whatever, Laganja definitely looks re-hinged and Vivacious, interesting but the lights are making her face look grey. As for our 3 stars, Courtney looks fantastic, Adore still looks low budget, Bianca looks great, her dress may still be a similar shape but it looks damn good on her.

  • Carriganak

Is it just me, or did anyone else look at Laganja’s wig and think it looked like Gary Oldman from Dracula?.

Other than that, I’m not surprised Magnolia looks awful, I did not recognize April, Vivacious’ outfit is pretty messy and hard to take in, Milk’s face beating is not up there with the pros like she claimed (even I know she needed to blend it with her hairline), and I can’t figure out those shapes on DeLa’s dress.

That said, I think Bianca, Darienne, and Trinity have the best looks. Even if Bianca’s is repetitive, I still think it’s fabulous.

    • Kent Roby

I think DeLa’s dress is an abstract leopard print. Or, more likely, cougar. It always surprises me at how much older he looks in drag than as a boy.

      • somebody blonde

I think it’s how he paints his eyes/eyebrows. That thin, very arched brow can make anyone look old if they have the kind of face that wants to look old.

      • StellaZafella

Both Shanel and now Ben look like different ages of my Aunt Madew Long…a woman who chain smoked Salem Filter 100’s in a holder, drove a Black T-Bird convertible and used so much hairspray her ‘do’ never cracked, even at 90 miles an hour. I looved her to death..

        • Kent Roby

I love her, too, though I never met her!

        • Cambel

Did all the cocktail waitresses in Vegas just love her? 🙂

          • StellaZafella

She was married to a cattle rancher. They spent 2 weeks every year in Vegas at the Sands (before there was a strip of Balagios and mega casinos)…when they arrived each year the hotel threw them a party and Madew tipped with $10 silver tokens…when they left, usually richer than they came…the staff wept as they saw them out the door…yeah I think Vegas liked her a lot.

          • Cambel

            I just knew it. 🙂

        • Morgan. Morgan goes from fresh faced twink to hard drinking, chain smoking cougar – I got to see it up close (she walked by us in line a few times).

    • I shouldn’t spoil it, but it was revealed La Ganja is really Gary Oldman.

      • Alex Gabriel

        ‘I never drink… mama.’

  • boweryboy

During the course of the season, I’ve considered Courtney more of a female impersonator than a drag queen so it’s refreshing to see her actually bringing some drag realness to her look. Adore is adorable and Bianca – lurve her, but it’s more of the same which isn’t a bad thing. It got her to the final three.
Ben looks fabulous, but her dress not so much – especially after seeing the three finalist’s red carpet looks. I can understand why she sashayed away.

Darienne (still hate her) is giving fabulous face. I love her hair. I have no words for Gia. Joslyn and (needle nose) Magnolia is toe up. I don’t remember April or Kelly. Lasagna is werqing Lady Gaga face and looks the best she’s ever looked. Milk is serving up some serious glam, but what’s going on with her make-up around the hairline? Trinity’s dress is inspired. And Vivacious, for a supposedly seasoned queen, always seems to have at least one ghetto element to her look and I don’t think it’s done deliberately.

    • Ben had one of the best looks live (and she was sitting next to Gia’s dress, which was also stunning in person). I think this may be an issue of what works on stage may not translate to print/tv.

  • Kent Roby

I wish the Ben had completely copied a Michele Visage look; that’s a major missed opportunity.

    • Cambel

To do that he would have to not smile and look irritated the entire night.

      • Kent Roby

In her defense, I have to say that she was so lovely and completely approachable when I chatted with her a few weeks ago in New Orleans! Plus, she’s been married a long time, adores her husband and kids, and hasn’t touched alcohol for years (i.e. she and I are NOTHING alike!). But, yes, she does take her judging duties seriously!

        • Cambel

I don’t know if she takes them seriously. She is unpleasant on camera, inconsistent, and cares more about a back-story than anything about a performance. At least that is what she presents on camera. I’m glad she is nice in person, but I have to say, most people I know who watch the show despise her after this season.

  • jonnyf8

I wish they would have kept April around longer. She was so pretty!!

  • NinjaCate

April looks awesome. I wish we could have seen more from here. And Milk, NOW you want to give glamour? REALLY? Oi.

    • somebody blonde

To be fair, a lot of queens take the critiques they got on the show and upgrade their looks based on those critiques after it. They only get what they brought and what they can make when they’re on the show- afterward, they have time to change things.

  • Boobs Radley

    Adore, ditch the support hose!

  • radicalhw

    Did Bianca do Adore’s face?

    • VicD

Look at the picture of Ru right behind them – Adore’s eyes are made up almost exactly like those on the poster.

  • somebody blonde

Say what you will about Trinity, she always brings the look. Who else could make painted fabric boobs look so glamorous?

  • Supernumerary

I wish Bianca could tone down the eye makeup just a touch. I realize that drag is all teased-out artifice and that it must work for her stage performances, but she is so staggeringly lovely, and some of that gets overwhelmed by the two pounds of eyeliner and mascara.

  • MilaXX

I’m not impressed with any of the top 3 contender’s looks. Courtney wins by being the least awful. Adore is still very much Forever 21 and Bianca needs to learn how to switch up her makeup and try a different dress style. Most of the others stepped up their glam for this, but others like Gia are still a mess.

  • I can’t say I love any of these looks. Milk’s face is scary and not in a good way. It’s a shame though, because her dress&hair are spectacular. DeLa and Cortney look the best of the bunch, imo.

  • These queens fucking werq’d, but none harder than Ben. This was a 4+ hour taping and at the first hour, everyone was shouting, “I love you, ____!” and the queens were interacting with the audience quite a bit, but at hour 3 and 4, after hot lights, pounds of hair and uncomfortable outfits, they were getting tired. Ben never stopped, though – that dress had a corset back and his energy was consistently up. Truly more adorable than words can say.

Spoiler: Get used to Bianca’s neckline, it ain’t gonna change.

    • Brent Wolgamott

So did they do it like they always do, and crown all three, and no one knows who won? My friend told me he thought they were going to do the crowning live on May 19th (next next Monday) but I told him he was full of it.

      • Me and friend left after they “crowned” the first queen (we were in line at 3 p.m. and left at 11:15 – we were done) – to be fair, no crown touched her head so maybe…sounds like baloney, though.

  • bouionice

Courtney’s dress is great but that thing on her head is a little bit Addams Family meets Miss Universe. Granted Bianca always does some version of the same basic silhouette but she always looks polished and perfectly put together. Adore looks great from the neck up but the dress is a little bit “Crafty Wonderland”. I love Ben’s look – it’s sort of Michelle Visage if she actually had taste.

    • Eric Stott

Bianca looks like a fashion doll just pulled out of the cardboard box

  • Jon Alfred Pabillaran

    Adore’s look/outfit is just screaming for a crown…

    • Nicoclaws

The other two already have something on their head.

  • katiessh

kind of but not really related: i just finished watching party monster the shockumentary and was checking out james st james’ instagram and adore looks so sweet and fresh faced! it’s weird, for some reason I can never imagine him in his drag, unlike vivacious who basically just IS his drag

  • Gia looks like a dude in a dress because, aside form the lack of cinching, she needs to at least have the illusion of covering up the boobies. Hello! Left “boob” in full sight! Jeez.

Darienne gives such good face. No wonder she won playing a head on a table.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

They all look better than anyone at the Met Gala.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Adore’s head looks pretty good, but that dress with the support hose and those hoof shoes are pretty bad. Darienne looks fabulous, too bad she didn’t bring more of this to the competition. Vivacious needs to line the inside of her dress so we can’t see the seams. I love Trinity’s look and LaGanja looks surprisingly good. That thing on Courtney’s head looks like she’s the pope of something. I think Bianca looks good, love the dress, but the makeup is too clownlike. I wish Ben was in the final three.

  • DarqueSeed

“They look great, but we’re going to give this one to Courtney. We’re tired of seeing Bianca in the same outfit all the time and Adore looks like she made that dress in the workroom with spit and a hot glue gun.

    Too bitchy? Let’s keep going.”

    No, this is bitchy:

I am not shocked that a website that (now) puts so much focus on star-fucking celebrity fashion is in love with a drag queen that buys all of her own clothing, has 0 personality, and epitomizes Stepford Wife culture. Where did all of the personality and commentary go? It’s as depressing as the past couple of seasons of Project Runway.

    • Sweetie, you clearly need a little vocabulary help, which we’re happy to give. What you wrote? That wasn’t bitchy. That was sad.

  • Adores outfit looks either like Magnolia Crawfords relatively unsuccessful cowprint dress or turds wrapped up in aluminium foil, I can’t decide.

    • Montavilla

I think she looks like Betty Rubble’s grand-daughter.

  • dmkava

They must have had help with their looks from the show, because they all look super polished here (not necessarily fashionable, but more put together), like the idealized versions of what they were trying to portray on the show

  • Alex Gabriel

Courtney: Harsh makeup. Cracking dress, though not sure about the cutouts/lace. Crown’s too much… but clearly she realised she’d need her own.
Adore: Bad wig. Cheap makeup (needs to contour more). Width of the corset/belt does nothing for her infamous non-waist.
Bianca: Nothing new, but probably the most polished/successful look on show. The sleeves are killing it.
April: Trying to be Yara; not Yara. I’m actually reminded of Milk’s ensembles: she’s giving me weird, but not in a conceptually coherent way.
BenDeLaCreme: Never had that much range, and she could have pushed herself more (I’d ditch the skirt’s bottom half). Well-executed though.
Darienne: Neckline looks a touch rough, and the abrupt fabric change at the knee cheapens it. She always gives great Marilyn, though.
Gia: Far too much going on. (Makeup and earrings in particular look dirt cheap.) Serving, as ever, far less realness than she thinks.
Joslyn: Disappointed. I really wanted her to have dramatically improved… she hasn’t improved at all.
Kelly: Love huh – and if only the makeup were a touch less Frank N Furter, I could love this look as well.
Laganja: Just awful. Has clearly made no progress at all in taste, restraint or dignity since filming.
Magnolia: Of course it’s gay bingo drag, but then that’s her shtick. Truthfully, I always thought her deliberate trash-queen thing could be amazing.
Milk: Stunning gown. Reminded of Bebe’s from the season one finale. That makeup, though? Gawd.
Trinity: The hair’s not working for me. (I think she needed something bigger.) Otherwise, werk.
Vivacious: Very Pepper Labeija, and that makeup is the best I’ve seen from her. Don’t mind the shoes, but wish the crescent-thing were better made.

  • Lilithcat

    Too bitchy?

    Not possible.

  • demidaemon

I can see that Magnolia truly learned from her time on the show and the constant referrals back to her “unique” make-up. Still looks like a burnt potato chip nose there, girl.

    • Cambel

I”m not sure I agree with you….I like potato chips and I don’t like that nose. 😉

      • demidaemon

Do you like burnt potato chips, though?

        • Cambel

Hmmmmmmm, I might like them better than that nose. 🙂

  • Cambel

Trinity and April killed it. I wish they had stayed longer.

  • Cambel

Wow I never thought I would get horribly bored with Bianca. But I’m horribly bored with Bianca. If she could ever do her make-up in a way that didn’t look like one of the wives from “GoodFellas” I think I would faint.

  • Brent Wolgamott

Magnolia looks like she’s channeling Jane Fonda 1994. Courtney looks even fishier than normal. Hate the almost-white hair on Darienne. April brought it. Laganja looked pretty cool. Vivacious — luv her. But gurl, those shoes….
And TLo, you boys are killing me when you said “Who?” to Kelly Mantle. I was rolling.

  • understateddiva

Vivacious fills me with joy. I wish she would have stuck around because there was just so much life in her! Also April Carrion needed to stay to bring fierceness and exciting looks to the runway – these comedy queens are fun but they don’t have what she has when it comes to creative looks.

  • largishbearishAtlish

I didn’t recognize Courtney, and I mean that as a compliment! reminiscent of Goldie Hawn in first wives club (with out the lips)

  • dunkhound

First ever recorded smile from Vivacious?

  • Courtney is clever to wear a shadow version of the crown for winning RPDR in that outfit, but I bet that’s as close as she gets. Adore’s hair/makeup look cute, but that dress is awful. Giraffe print why? Bianca’s fabric choice was lovely, too bad it was another fucking retread. I really am quite miffed with her at this point on the aesthetic front. You knew this was your weak spot, why didn’t you prepare better?

    As for the non-top-3 bitches:

April- TLo nailed it: fab weird.
Ben- It’s so expected but it’s a gown rather than a straight-up showgirl outfit, I feel like more of those subtle shifts would have made a difference for Ben on the show.
Darienne- FABULOUS. REALLY GOOD. She should’ve brought more nonstandard palettes to her look like this on the show.
Gia- I appreciate the effort and the more polished elements. Face still needs serious effort, and the padding is utterly tragic. She needs to get over this I AM THE MOST FISHY thing. Stat.

Joslyn- Cute, nothing to make us change our opinion of what she can do.
Laganja- Totally different from her on the show except for the shameless mugging. What the hell is her aesthetic? Just being weird for its own sake in the name of “edge” as far as I can tell.

Magnolia- I appreciate the camp in this but it’s way too half-assed. An ugly print will not suffice, look at Adore’s dress.

Milk- This shows range, the makeup isn’t perfect, but when is it with her. Still fab, still wish she had shown some more of this glamzilla look on the runway.

Trinity- Not to my personal tastes, but bitch killed it. I’m still pulling for her being on All Stars 2.
Vivacious- MOTHER HAS ARRIVED. Seriously if not for the shoes that could have been radiant.

  • Luca

I absolutely loathe Adore’s dress, even if the Amy Winehouse’s wig and makeup are good.
I’ll be a heretic and say that Bianca’s dress is boring, mostly because there’s not much variation in her wardrobe.
Magnolia’s dress and wig make me sad.
I think Laganja’s dress is absolutely not her best, she wore some nice things in the runway of the show, this is just meh and the wig is horrid.
April is great but she could have avoided those strange shapes at hip level.
    Not convinced of Trinity’s dress.
Joslyn is not at her best but she’s ok, something about her dress bugs me though.
I agree that Gia looks like a dude in dress. Also Vivacious’ shoes. Also the comment about Milk (but she could have avoided the white face).
Ben, Darienne and Kelly are good.

  • AnotherG

Is Joslyn wearing the same necklace from the show? If she is, that’s kind of funny-awesome.

  • JaCory Deon

Whew a lot of misses on this cast! Courtney looks the best of them all while Bianca, damn it, looks the same as she always does. This would’ve been the time to ditch the clown makeup and show some body instead of “more of the same.” Adore, bless her heart, still looks cheap (and I love her for that)! It’s funny but I’d forgotten about half of these queens even being on this show…

    • Cambel

Adore changed her eye make-up and looks great, and Bianca just looks like she is wearing the same Bianca Mask.

  • WESCOBear

Why is Adore dressed as a giraffe? When did Magnolia turn into an Avon lady? Why does Courtney have a wicker basket on her head? Is Bianca related to the Munsters?

  • Jemay Muzika ;-)

All I can say is… Thank God, Darienne got rid of that rid of that hemline that she’s been wearing throughout the show.

  • Snidge

Milk reminds of Madonna in that make-up!

I think it’s a little tacky of Courtney to show up already sporting her own crown. As IF.

Chintzy is what Ben is all about and I love her for it.

So burned out on this show. Courtney’s head thing looks stupid. I don’t care about Adore. Bianca – when did 37 become the new 50? I’m exhausted.

About Vivacious shoes… well, she’s not that young, maybe she just can’t walk in higher heels anymore

if I were Ru, by looking at adore in that… I would have said: Ben come you are in the top three again… Adore get the f out.

Milk looks like a cross between Madonna and Peaches (the singer)

    • Cambel

      More like Herb

  • Linderella

April looks fierce! Proof positive (as if any were needed) that she should have been around much, MUCH longer.
