I wish the bust had just been altered so as not to need whatever is peeking out at the edges. Either make it more open or don’t, but it looks like she’s wearing something under it to not show as much. Kind of looks odd. Otherwise, not bad.
I think you got it. Looks like the bust needed to be altered and they didn’t have the time/funds/permission.
I think she had to add the lining – she’s much more boobular than the model.
Pack ’em in Packham!
That’s really unflattering lighting. I also think that colour is not her friend.
What color *is* it? I can’t really tell on my screen. Champagne? Buttercup?
Honey almond. *cracks herself up*
It’s the color of proper vanilla ice cream, the kind made with egg yolks.
Gorgeous color melting over a gooey brownie. Here? Not so much.
Huh. How appropriately apt.
Agreed. I’d love this if the color was more flattering to her skintone.
Yeah, the color is no bueno. I also think it’s too tight.
Go find a different dress.
The color isn’t flattering.
The additional fabric on the bust is not well done.
World, meet globes.
This dress is too small on her
Do you say that because of the horizontal pulling across the crotch/hips, or because they had to augment the lining(?) on her cleavage? Or another reason?
I ask because to me, it seems to fit the way most of these women’s red carpet gowns fit (if they’re body hugging) and so I’ve come to believe that is what “fits” means for gals posing for slinky gown pictures. (As opposed to gals who might have to sit, bend over to pick up something they’ve dropped, walk to the car, etc.)
Actually both. It even looks a little too tight around her armseyes and shoulders
I am especially annoyed about the addition around the bust. I would rather they had remade the dress for her bust and try to retain the lines that the beading creates that we can see on the runway version. The model looks more elegant on the model, less vulgar
The version they adapted for Nina looks lazy. People know Nina usually is one of the more fabulous ladies on the red carpet. The designer’s people should have done a better job for her
Thanks for the answer! I am kind of reassured that red carpet actress fit is supposed to be in line with fit for everybody else.
I sort of agree with Frank. I didn’t put it in my comment, but my first thought was “so not her dress, if it’s pulling across the hips on a tiny thing like her.”
Does J-Lo know you raided her closet? You better give it back. Jenny’s from the Block.
Such a pretty dress. Shame it’s way too tight on her.
Yes, way too tight, and way too yella.
If you need to add fabric to prevent a wardrobe malfunction, it’s not the dress for you. Keep shopping dearie.
Keep trying, sweetheart. Read #BeMeDoMe, maybe you’ll learn some things.
Boy oh boy, that is not the color for her! I do like the dress though, and I think she’d look very pretty in it in a different shade.
That’s a very pretty dress…the color, however, is not for her.
It’s a very pretty dress but on her it’s way too boobular.
Girl, that is not your color. Or dress.
Jeebus, who on earth lit this red carpet.. this is seriously terrible almost thermonuclear lighting.
It takes some serious effort to get ones eyelashes to make a shadow on ones face.
The lighting and photography are giving me a headache. Everything is shadowy and out of focus. It looks like an outdoor venue, so WTH???
Well, the sun is a thermonuclear light source.
True. 😉 Seems like they placed the sun about 8 feet above the red carpet..
Too tight. Wrong color. Try again.
Really pretty gown, and she looks great. I’m sure there was a good reason for the change but I wish they would have kept the runway version of the bust- I think it looks a lot more sophisticated that way.
Beautiful dress, but I think it’s too much dress for her to handle. Definitely too much boobage. And if she was going to wear a spectacular, detailed gown like this, more effort should have gone into the hair.
JCPenney prom dress.
Go up a size, sweetie. The tag is inside; the world will never know.
Thought this was Lea Michele for a second. Buttercream Frosting is not her colour.
Alas not a good showcase for the fake cans… not sure I would like this even in the correct size on her but maybe on a darker skin beauty or a super pale blonde… definitely not working here
Very pretty on the model. Too small for Nina, and I don’t think that’s a good color for her.
Well, hello there, girls!
Too tight. A dress should gently skim the hip, not put them in a death grip.
Thank you. And yet, evidently, we are not in tune with these times.
Just not feeling it. She is so beautiful and would be perfect to play Kate Middleton in a movie
If you are going to promote the girls, go without the modesty panels that look like afterthoughts. Just sayin’.
Classic GTINYD and I do think she is so pretty looking. This dress needs a Latin lady to rock it, or strangely enough a Taylor Swift.
That color definitely needs a darker skin tone. Girl is so washed out.
Is she preggers? I ask because 1) she is my style crush so I know she doesn’t often get the fit wrong, ergo perhaps her body has shifted more than she was expecting; and 2) her breasts are rather veluptuous.
(And, yes, if this is what a wee bit preggers looks like, I’m six months along.)
Her belly looks flat as a board to me, but her breasts do look a lot larger than usual. Maybe? Or maybe she’s wearing an awesome push-up bra. 😉
This whole look reads as “maybe?” to me.
She looks like she can’t breathe.
She definitely better not sneeze.
That is a beautiful dress that is obviously too small for her.
I still don’t know exactly what it is she’s famous for.
she the start of the tv show Vampire Diaries on the CW. Not a ratings blockbuster but it has a loyal following and has received enough critical acclaim over the years that the entertainment sites cover it on a regular basis
She’s a beautiful young woman, and it’s a beautiful dress, but the two do not go together. The color is wrong for her, and worse, the fit is terrible. It makes her look, gasp, hippy, and I suspect her hips are the size of a pre-teen boy’s.
Looks better on the model.
Maybe we just need to convince designers that not all women are flat-chested models, and some of us need some space and coverage up top.
I think the fashion design schools of the world need to add a new course to the curriculum: How Boobs Work 101.
I know… it’s like they can only dress hangers. But not padded hangers.
It doesn’t make sense, since the majority of these dresses are going to be worn by celebs, who the majority of have had some sort of chest enhancement.
She is lovely and the dress is lovely. But they are not lovely together. Wrong color, wrong shape for her.
Illusion boob netting. Ugh.
Anything more than a 32A should just back away from the sternum-baring looks. These “modesty” panels look like an exposed slip or wonky dress lining and detract completely from the dress which is spectacular.
Ladies and gentleman, Miss Venezuela 2002!
If she went up a size, she might not need those funky bodice pieces to keep her breasts in the dress. Too tight.
This dress should have been customised. It is gorgeous on the model and could have worked on Nina had there been some boob-related adjustments. Shame shame shame.
I like the bodice, but, in the up close pics, the skirt really looks like an afterthought. And I’m not sure this yellow is her color.
It must hurt to sit down in that thing with the jewels poking into you. I like the top half of the dress and the color.
For a blingy, LOOK AT MY BOOBS, slinky, red carpet dress, I love this. I strangely love the shapes of the rectangular bling, it fits great, I’m not seeing sheer, lace, or underwear, and I’m not holding my breath to see if it disastrously falls off or falls open at the wrong moment.
It’s not the fault of the dress, the event, the actress or any professionals employed that I am having an irritable moment of being tired, over, and done with the apparent professional necessity, if one is an actress or female professional celebrity, to equate “dressed up” with BOOBS ON DISPLAY, if one has- or can-fake- any noticeable breasts whatsoever.
Not her dress. The color makes her look sallow and the fit is all wrong, pulling in places it shouldn’t be pulling.
Pretty, pretty dress, but it pulls too much across the pelvis.
I usually really like what she wears, but definitely not this. The color is doing her no favors. I do like the embellishments, but the fit is distorting the effect.
The dress is too small and not her color. Also, the bust needed to be altered in a much better way.
Interesting dress, but that’s not her color. And the modesty panel thingys on the bodice are weird.
Whatever that part is that they added to the bust is super unflattering and distracting. At some point you need to acknowledge that the dress doesn’t fit and go with another option.
I have an intense level of dislike for this dress, and even a different color would still not please me.
Did she have some work done on her chesticles? No judgement either way, but she looks like a lot of women who gain a little weight naturally or with surgical assistance and don’t realize they can’t wear the stuff they wore before without it going hoochie coochie.
On my screen, it looks like the skin of her decolletage gets lighter the lower it goes.
The dress is too close to her skin color, but I love the dress. Take it off and give it to its rightful owner, Viola Davis.
I’m sorry, and I hope not to offend, but yellow really doesn’t look that good on white people. It pops on darker skin tones. You have to have the right shade of yellow to look good on white people and this shade is not the one.
Well, she certainly is “packham” in the girls.
You know something is wrong with the fit if it makes Nina Dobrev look hippy, which she is decidedly not. A shame, because in another color and in her size, this would have killed.
Also, that purse looks like a shoe-shine kit.
