Wow! She certainly is aging well. I think she looks fantastic!

      • Kent Roby

She has plenty of motivation to keep looking fantastic; the minute that she or one of the other girls slip up they’ll be labelled Old Spice by the tabloids!

    • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

Wow. Well, on the one hand, props to her for not trying to dress like she’s still a young Spice Girl, but on the other hand, this is unfortunate. Would like to take a scissors and cut that orange fabric ponytail right off a la Sixteen Candles.

    • Anna

I really, really, really want her to go home and start over.

      • demidaemon

Me too. She’s too cool for this.

        • Anna

I didn’t mind the look the first time I saw it on Emma Watson (I think?) but every other time I’ve seen it, it hasn’t been all that well executed.

          • demidaemon

That’s right. Huh, I seem to have mentally blocked it (until you mentioned it). I personally did not like it on Emma either, but I can say it still looked better on her than it does on Mel B.

      • Kent Roby

tell me what you want, what you really, really want.

    • Sarah

Those pants are a midge tight, but they are admirably tailored nonetheless. I wish she had different shoes.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

If those pants were any tighter, they’d be in back of her.

        • Sarah

More than a midge, ‘s true.

        • Constant Reader

Excellent deployment of a Day At the Races reference!

    • sienna elm

I love it!! The shoes – not so much.

      • sienna elm

Is the back of the top black? or is that just some odd shading? I’d love to see a profile shot.

      • amf0001

I was just thinking that – I love everything except the shoes!

    • NBG

I just can’t with these Christian Louboutin shoes anymore. I need a damn drink.

      • housefulofboys

I know! Who in the world thinks squished-up toes is attractive or sexy? Wait, don’t answer that…

    • Danielle

Is she aging in reverse?! Love it.

    • Mrs. C

I love the peacock headdress in the second picture. Oh, wait…nevermind.

      • Kitten Mittons

The headdress makes it the saddest entry in the Miss Universe Parade of National Costumes. Not even one sequin.

        • 3boysful

          You win!!

    • Jaeda Laurez

I love it. Although no amount of money can convince me plastic shoes are cute.

    • lunchcoma

Like the color. Like that she’s wearing pants. Conflicted about the dangly piece. Really hoping that those shoes don’t become a trend for not famous people.

    • crash1212

Those shoes…I would say burn them, but they’d just melt. Question: Has Roksanda Ilincic paid off every stylist in the universe? Seems like we’re seeing way more of it than ever before. As for the design…meh. Pretty color, but I don’t think Mel is rockin’ it.

      • demidaemon

She does seem to be having a moment. Perhaps colorblocking is the new stylist trend, and she lucked out, as it is her aesthetic.

    • kduffin7

Love the shoes. Love the pants. The bright orange really suits her but the top is bulky and the long tie just plain silly.

    • Introspective

she’s looking *flawless* about the face. im suspecting either some contouring for the gods, or a trip to the plastic surgeon happened recently for some nasal “sculpting.”

the long ass sash? no. feels like a trip waiting to happen while trying to manage smushed feet in plastic stilettos.

color is gorge on her skin tho and the pants make her bod look hot. overall, more snaps than not mel b. keep being fab…

    • barbarienne

Oh god, she’s wearing THOSE SHOES. How many ladystars have we seen in them? I hate them. Shoes may crush the wearer’s toes, but I don’t want a plastic window showing that to me. Visible, unnecessary discomfort isn’t attractive to me. (Well, not in “walking around in public” contexts, anyway.)

North of the ankles, this is a great look. The outfit suits her athletic look, and she has the right face to show off with a minimalist, drawn-back hairstyle.

      • lunchcoma

Plus, isn’t one of the benefit of wearing pumps that you don’t have to get a pedicure?

      • FibonacciSequins

Shoes that look like torture devices are always a mistake.

That shade of orange is her color. I wouldn’t object if the sash were smaller.

        • barbarienne

I don’t mind shoes that look like torture devices if the wearer is the torturer, not the torturee. ;-)

          • FibonacciSequins

That is such an excellent distinction!

    • Kelly

I love the drama of the look. The floaty thing ought to make her look like a fey fortune teller or some other scarfy creature, but instead it looks chic. The hair and makeup are just right. It’s true that the shoes are saying “raptor from Jurassic Park” to me, but they aren’t my main complaint. It’s the color scheme — I just can’t get past black-and-orange-and-Halloween. Make it some other vibrant tone besides orange, and I’m totally there.

    • MilaXX

I like. She’s making a tricky top work. I don’t love the shoes, but they work here.

    • 3boysful

Orange and black will never not look Halloween. As for the fabric tail–ugh. Start over, dear. But your head looks lovely.

    • BluesD

The shoes are horrid but I like the rest of her outfit.

    • jilly_d

I like the outfit all right, but it looks like she stuck her head in a bucket of foundation makeup and they leveled on the contouring with a trowel. Not good, Mel. You’re too pretty for this.

    • kim bunchalastnames

a tough look to pull off, but i think she’s doing it. sort of. not sold on the shoe choice, though.

    • emoryivy

oh, she’s working this look MUCH better than Jena Malone did. maybe the height? i like it.

      • Be Arthur

The orange with her skin tone and her sleek hairdo as well, I was thinking. Altogether a jumpsuit much more in Mel B’s wheelhouse.

    • decormaven

I like the color on her, but the sash/drape detail bugs. The less said about the shoes, the better.

    • Jacob Bowen

I actually like the top…and for the first time in history I think I’m going to say, “She could even expose more midriff and I think it would balance the long drape a bit.” There, you’re never getting that again.

    • sagecreek

      Those shoes, omg. Torture instruments.

    • WaterGhost

Lip too glossy. Eyes look small. Why? Her eyes are not really that small. Probably too much focus on the lower lid. She should have gone with the model’s make-up. It wouldn’t have looked crazier than the rest of her outfit.

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

It was awful when Raf Simons did this for DIOR… Still awful!

    • Tanya Wade

Glamazon fab with tits a’poppin. But damn, those shoes look painful!

    • Violentcello

I like her. And I love this. The only thing I don’t like are the shoes, which I honestly didn’t notice until the close-up of her unhappy little toes.

    • Noah

      The fuck are those shoes?

    • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

      Such a beautiful face!

    • Constant Reader

It’s not my favorite thing ever, but she is rocking it so hard I will even forgive those hiddy shoes.

    • tired_mommy

Not my favorite outfit, but she looks fantastic.

    • conniemd

It appears the hideous shoes have clear plastic extending out of the pointy black toes. I’d really, really like to know why any shoe designer thinks that see through to toes is attractive as opposed to continuing the leather of the pointy part. Seriously, who finds looking at cramped toes through clear plastic at all sexy or eye appealing?

      • Edie Rose

I first saw someone wearing transparent shoes was when I was riding the metro at age 10.
That was also the moment that the ‘glass slipper’ fantasy of Cinderella was ruined for me.

    • Denise Rambo

      Those shoes … UGH.

    • marlie

This outfit could have gone badly on another ladystar, but I think Mel looks pretty great. I have quibbles, but overall they’re minor. Attagirl!

    • MandyM

I’ll tell ya what I want, what I really, really want…
      New shoes. Ew.

    • Man Dala

I don’t like the pants on her. They look like leggings and are borderline camel-toe.

    • BuffaloBarbara

Whoa. In the thumbnails from FB, I only saw the second picture, and I thought she was wearing the NBC peacock as a headband, which seemed like a really weird styling choice. I had to find out what on earth the occasion was. The actual outfit is a big relief, even though the pants are too tight and the shoes are distractingly mis-sized (and maybe designed to look that way?). The color of the top is great for her, though.

    • somebody blonde

      FAB!

    • demidaemon

That is one of the dumbest tops I have ever seen. And this is probably the only case where more midriff needs to be exposed to make the proportions work. This is a NO for me.

    • Judih1

B+ I like the look but don’t care for the shoes and her tattoo is a bit distracting. Does anyone else think she is a tad busty for the top?

    • Clash D

      Scary Spice!

Not so scary here, face-wise she looks great but i don’t like her accessories or shoes.
