    • @Biting Panda

Wow. Her gym is fancy. He looks nice.

      • Carla_Charlton

To my mind, he always looks a little uncomfortable.

        • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

He has said in interviews that he’s not really into the “celebrity”/red carpet/pole dancing part of acting, but I applaud him for knowing what’s required and putting in the effort. I am not on board with her top and braid but they look very nice otherwise.

          • Aerialgreen

Infinitely much more appreciated with the perpetual “this is ridiculous! I’m one of the people y’all” attention stunts and interviews Jennifer Lawrence pulls in each and every event she is invited to.

            • ankali

              And the backlash begins…

            • http://www.jaimieteekell.com/ Jaimie

              No kidding…

      • butterflysunita

He looks good but ignored the “white tie” theme.

        • StarburstLady

Yeah, really. You only had to meet one very concrete requirement, Andrew…

      • BrooklynBomber

And the winner is Biting Panda!

    • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

      If American Apparel did couture.

    • Sam Smith

I like his look, I like her colors but her top is way too sports bra.

      • KiP07

It is really a shame too, because I think the skirt actually could have been pretty with a nicer top.

        • Deya

The way it is now, the palette is looking a bit Barbie couture.

      • MoHub

Ah, if only she was wearing a bra.

    • Frank_821

He is looking 60s playboy fab. Too in love with the jacket

her gown is lacking a little bit of oomph

    • Glam Dixie

I love everything about how she looks except for the overly casual/sporty top. He looks really nice too, lovely jacket.

    • Noah

      Him: YUP.
      Her: NOPE.

      • demidaemon

        Pretty much my thoughts.

    • juniper

      what? no.

sports bra, naked shoes and maxi skirt?
      THEN a dirty Frozen braid?

I am an Emma Stone fan but not this, dear.

      • 3boysful

You neglected to mention the consumptive pink eyeshadow.

        • juniper

I had no words for her makeup, really- but you are correct.

it reminds me of my amateur prom peachy mary kay eye shadow. (I guess I did have words)

        • numenah

It looks to me as if she used her blush as eye shadow or vice versa. Both need more blending.

        • Pablo

          It looks extremely DIY.

      • Alloy Jane

Thank you! I saw her and thought, “who the hell does she think she is? Elsa on Ice?”

      • Introspective

leslie mann wore the way better monique lhullier version of this gown at another one of her pole dances for that annoying-looking other woman movie.

which means emma, not good if you are wearing the down market version of it to the MET GALA???

    • PlethoraofBooks

I want to like it, but it comes off way too casual for the Met Gala

    • NinjaCate

Emma’s dress/look really just grew on me. Aside from the weird side boob, I just….. LOVE it. That skirt is pretty fucking fab.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

Well, someone didn’t get the memo.

    • Aidan B

Overall they look pretty great, but I’m sick of the “Frozen” braid already. Besides, it doesn’t go with the dress at all.

      • Sarah

Yeah, that’s what bugs. I think the colors look great on her, and her face is lovely as always, but if she’d done an updo or something, she’d look a lot more formal.

      • decormaven

        Once again, Pinterest braid wins.

      • ovarB

        I thought the same thing!!!

      • http://www.jaimieteekell.com/ Jaimie

        Doesn’t go… doesn’t go…

    • lbl

I love the colors and the shape and fit of the skirt, but her makeup is awful. The way her eyeshadow and blush are the same color and how they’re sort of running into eachother. Not good.

    • LeelaST

He looks lovely. She’s wearing a sports bra and a skirt.

    • Carly Clement

Love the look, just not appropriate for this yesrs MET!! she could have rocked the old Hollywood glamr and could have been mindblowing gorgeous…went but instead went for boring… so disappointed

    • Julie Chase

      I weirdly love this.

      • http://www.momforless.com/ Crystal

        That’s how I feel, too.

        • Kristin

Add me to the list. We are in the minority here, it seems.

    • kim bunchalastnames

      i think she looks great.

    • GKaller

i think she looks pretty but to casual/safe for met gala!

    • lunchcoma

Pretty, but not really appropriate. I’d like this much better at the Golden Globes or a premiere.

    • conniemd

      Not venue appropriate. Sorry Emma.

    • Kitten Mittons

Love her look for another event, but not quite fancy enough for this one. She looks beautiful, though. He turned it out.

    • ashtangajunkie

I would love this for a different event. And with better makeup.

    • crash1212

Loved this. Maybe not venue/event appropriate, but of all the other not-venue-event-appropriate that went on, this was the best. Sexy as hell. Great color combo. Good head. Also, he looked pretty dame cute, too.

    • mitch45

i actually kinda love it – the only thing i dont like is the back, since thats what makes it look like a sportsbra to me. But from the front i’m a fan!

    • Guest

      Love the Queen Elsa hair!

    • Daisy Walker

She: Too Resort Collection. Plus, I loathe pink on redheads.
      He: Great jacket.

    • DesertDweller79

      Him: Great look!
Her: Too casual for the event

    • quiltrx

I normally like her, but WHO WEARS THIS TO THE MET GALA? Serious misstep, lady.
      I do like his suit.
(for “right” dresses…I’m waiting for the Liu Wen post. Dress of the night in my book!)

    • Jacob Bowen

Well, they didn’t read any invitation, but they look great! My only issue is that her top is a bit sports-bra like but I still appreciate it.

    • Dany

I don’t like the hair or makeup. I think this dress would look a lot more upscale if she wasn’t showing the skin strip, to be honest.

Also, this dress is, truth be told, way off theme. I don’t get Charles James couture OR white tie & decorations. Meh.

    • Dennis

I feel as if I have seen this look on Grace Adler once…

    • amanda siegelson

i adore how emma looks (her face/hair are perfection to my eyes) but thought immediately that it was a tad under-dressy for the event.
nonetheless, i think she looks really pretty.

    • VFinn

They look so nice for prom!

    • http://sharialbert.com shazziz

      nice yoga bra~

    • JauntyJohn

On the one hand, she is lovely and poised, and he looks quite dapper (pants a skosh long but the jacket is killah).
      On the other hand…
Jeannie and Major Nelson go to the prom.

      • marlie

“Jeannie and Major Nelson go to the prom.” **Dying laughing.**

      • Aerialgreen

Dude!, the theme song played my mind right on cue ~ I’ve been Pavlovian’d!

    • GillianHolroyd

Another invitee/and stylist/ who decided to stand out from the crowd by dressing down. Line forms to the left, ladies.

    • marlie

I love Emma’s look, but NOT for this event. She needs to be going to a considerably more low-key event. He looks pretty great. I LOVE that jacket.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

She’s going to the MTV Awards. He does look great.

    • MW

I tried hard to hate it but I can’t. It doesn’t say Met Gala to me but she looks stunning.

    • numenah

She’s all set for that wedding in St. Barth’s.

    • Malia C.

Too casual for the Met Gala. Both of them.

      • Gatto Nero

        Sports bra and sarong.

    • Nancer

      I love it all!!!

    • random_poster

If we were voting I’d give them an IN because he is NOT RESTING HIS HAND ON HER ASS.

      • MW

How sad is it that this verges on abnormal?

Anyway, I was in the audience when they were on the Graham Norton show a few weeks ago and they seemed very sweet together (though there was virtually no PDA). I melted a little when he offered her his hand to walk down from the stage.

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Lucky! Although her story about the toilets in Beijing went on way too long.

    • redhead with tattoos

i think it’s fabulous. she looks best in this kind of simple silhouette — remember when she wore that great peach (? i think?) calvin klein and killed in it? — and i love the color. and he’s a hottie. i’ll stand by that. even with the hair.

    • Call me Bee

I’ve been out of it, apparently. I didn’t know they were an item.
Anyway–they look nice. Miss Emma is a bit underdressed for the Met Gala, but she looks fresh and lovely. He looks ok. I saw him on Jimmy Fallon and he was charmingly nerdy.

    • JP

They look good, but I have to say, and not dissing Emma in any way, I am really tired of the belly strip trend. Mainly b/c I don’t have the bod for it. *g*

    • Fraggle

I don’t like the belly strip. And this dress – it’s pretty and the colors are great – but it reminds me of something somone could wear für a yoga class. And it was the MET gala… come on, she’s underdressed, period.

    • RedRaven617

I irrationally hate him. I don’t know what it is.

      • Lisalady161

Amen. I love me a geek but he does nothing for me.

    • alyce1213

They’re way underdressed for the Met Gala, but they look good.

    • TM

Individually, there’s nothing about her combo I like–but together it honestly just works so elegantly well for me. It might not be the most venue appropriate, but it was still able to stand out among all of that.

And her shoes match his jacket, which is like my future relationship goal. Ugh they’re so precious that I can’t even. I adore him so much that I get beyond adolescently giggly.

    • jakenderek

she has a little more side boob than i would prefer. he looks amazing. mixed score? 7.5

    • LadyVimes

      Hmm. No.

    • MilaXX

I think they look lovely. That pink is really pretty on her.

    • jilly_d

I love the dress but the makeup is unforgiveable. As always, I nothing him.

    • Candice Booth

I rarely disagree with the masses (of bitter kittens that is) but I actually love this dress on her along with the braid. Now after saying all that, I do believe it is not the dress or hair for the event.

      • Candice Booth

This is the time I wish it wasn’t on white board and I could hear the reasons T.Lo may not like it because I’m sure you both don’t.

    • Lori

I don’t hate the outfit, but man does this feel wrong for the occasion/venue. I don’t like to sound like someone’s prissy, stick-in-the-mud great aunt or something, but thigh slit and midriff and side boob and nipple darts and a Pintrest braid at the Met Gala is a whole lot of, “What were you thinking young lady?” The simple silhouette and the color are both great on her and with a couple tweaks I’d have liked this for a different occasion, but as is , no.

      • demidaemon

        THIS.

    • Leah Elzinga

Why, Emma, are you wearing the same hair I wear to pick up my kid from kid and then grab extra potatoes for supper? Because, for REAL that is some “cute mom” hair. And that’s not a compliment.

    • OffToSeeHim

She looks beautiful, but I can’t believe I’m seeing a Frozen braid on the red carpet. Really Emma? But that’s a really pretty color on her, and I love her make up. And it’s an interesting dress, for what it is.

    • housefulofboys

Gorgeous colors on her, she looks beautiful. Him, meh, as always.

    • SewingSiren

      They’re having a prom moment.

    • flamingoNW

The hair and make-up on her looks great. Dress looks pretty good.

    • TwiddlyStun

I know I should comment on the fashion, but posing is fair game too, right? I’m not a fan of couple poses where his grab and her heels combine to make it look like she’s about to fall over into him. That’s not a way to convey healthy relationship (although she doesn’t seem bothered, so who am I to say).

    • Susan Velazquez

stunning but looks too casual for the venue

    • ThaliaMenninger

I like this on her a lot. She finally looks like she’s wearing something SHE likes.

    • Imasewsure

OOH I love his tux and I’m loving her look too although it does look a little casual RC for this event… she’s looking very Amanda Seifreid (sp?) which I also kind of like…

    • Fuchsiaforever

She could have done way lot better…

    • Sly

Emma Isn’t in Lanvin, she’s in Thakoon. Gorgeous!

    • unbornfawn

He looks good. She needs to go home and get dressed.

    • sienna elm

I think this is the best I’ve seen him look. She looks way too informal.

    • CT14

      Frozen hair.

    • cindiaune

I think she looks fab…..for going to a friends wedding, for the Met Ball? Hell no.

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

He looks like the “Going to A Dance” guy in my old Mystery Date game and she looks like a mermaid he picked up off the beach to be his date. Her outfit is cute, but seems way too casual for the event.

    • Danielle

God, I hate the crop top trend. I can’t shop anywhere lately without accidentally picking out at least 10 crop tops in disgust.

    • Vtg Fashion Library

That top looks like a sports bra with sideboob. Totally inappropriate for the venue.

    • Andrea Lentz

this is one of my favorite looks of hers in a longgggg time. I love her street style but not usually her red carpet.

    • MartyBellerMask

GTNYMGH (Girl, that’s not your Met Gala Hair)

    • webslice33

      they look great together!

    • formerlyAnon

This might be the first time I’ve seen him clearly outshining her.

    • Tom Markiewicz

Hey T.Lo, your headline says Emma is in Lanvin, but then the description down the bottom says the dress is Thakoon… awkward…

    • E. D.

Love everything but the dress, which is atrocious.

    • Frankie Carter

He looks like a white version of one of the Temptations. I keep waiting for the other four to appear so they can snap in unison

Emma S’s boobs look weird. Pity her dress is so fug, she’s really beautiful.

They both look way too informal.

    • demidaemon

He looks pretty good, though his pants need major tailoring. At least he’s wearing a tie.

She completely missed the memo. Nope.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

I can’t with this dress. Emma, Emma you broke my heart. WHAT HAPPENED DO THAT GORGEOUS YELLOW DRESS YOU HAD FOR THE SPIDERMAN TOUR?!!

    • Clash D

I swear she swiped that tank top and braid from Denise Rchards – the nuclear scientist in The World Is Not Enough.
