Elisabeth Moss in Fausto Puglisi on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Posted on May 01, 2014

We can’t find any shots of her standing up in this dress but we kind of don’t need to. It still rates an “attagirl.”

First, because it’s the perfect little sit-down dress for TV; boldly graphic, with a defined waist and enough of a skirt to keep her comfortable and relaxed while still showing off the goods. Second, because she chose to emphasize the goods with the absolute dead-perfect deployment of the pop-of-color shoe. Third, because she’s got killer legs (or “darling little ankles,” as Joan Holloway once put it) and this is all doing everything to show them off. Don’t love the hair, but her makeup’s cute.

Attagirl.

You can tell she feels good too. Nothing like a bright genuine grin.

    • jilly_d

J’adore. She looks super cute and fun here. Now get back to work, Peggy.

    • Mothra

It is true that you’re never fully dressed without a smile.

    • crash1212

Love this. Model shoes are killer.

    • smh4748

Oh yes, this is very nice. Way to go, Elisabeth! Good to see the smiling trend continuing for her. I also like the plain black belt/band rather than the tricky little thing the model has on.

That model, by the way, is terrifying. She looks like she’d kill a bitch. Those are the very definition of Crazy Eyes.

    • CPK1

      She looks fab!

    • ashtangajunkie

Lovely! And she looks so happy and like she’s having fun so I’ll pretend not to notice the terrible hair.

    • NMMagpie

She looks freaking amazing. Must have those shoes.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

Have not seen Kimmel in a long time…he’s lost weight and is looking pretty good.

      • TrixieConQueso

        Thinner and face-fillers. Well done.

        • holla

          makes him look younger

        • Erica

Is that what’s going on here? Good to know.

        • AthenaJ

I’d love to go back in time and tell younger Jimmy who hosted The Man Show that in the near future he’ll be on a diet and getting Juvederm injections.

    • Sarah

I hope when Elizabeth is standing up it doesn’t look like her ass is on her front like the model’s look does. Or like she has an aggressively protruding pelvis. Those are some oddly placed pleats, to be sure. Otherwise, yeah – love her blue shoes and her smile.

      • demidaemon

Perhaps this is why all the standing up picks are mysteriously unattainable.

      • GillianHolroyd

I believe it does; all his skirts do that. The bodice is also making her look short-waisted in the close-up. All in all, a great sitting-down dress.

    • sagecreek

I am loving the Happy Lizzy tour!

    • msdamselfly

Like the dress but hate the shoe color

    • nannypoo

Why would anyone go out with their hair looking like that? I know I wouldn’t. I like the dress though, and she looks happier than anyone has the right to be, so it’s all good.

    • marlie

I don’t like this particular color shoe, but from the ankle up, I think she looks fantastic. I’m in love with that dress.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

That shade of blue, particularly in a pointy toed stiletto, gives me nasty 80s flashbacks. She should be wearing acid-wash baggy jeans with them.

        • decormaven

And “Shake Your Love” should be playing in the background.

    • MW

She looks great, love the shoes, but is that a wax work of Jimmy Kimmel?

    • Janet B

      All smiles here

    • Lisalady161

She looks fantastic, but what is up with Kimmel’s face? It doesn’t even look like him.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Great dress-love the print, that wide belt, and she obviously feels great wearing it!

    • Mandypants1124

It kind of bugs me that there appears to be no fabric from the dress between that chair and her underside. I mean I am sure that chair is perfectly clean and whatnot, but that will never not ick me out. I seem to see this all the time in the real world as well where cute/short little summer dresses do not even come close to covering ones bootycheeks when sitting on such things as buses and barstools. I’d rather stand than have my bare skin touch some of those surfaces. I’m just weird like that I guess.
Other than that she looks great. And yeah I’d say Jimmy has had some work, saw him up close and without makeup a year or so ago and his face definitely did not look that plump and smooth.

    • OldPandaDayz

Agreed about the hair, but love everything else! Probably wouldn’t look half as good on me but I covet that dress.

    • Jacob Bowen

Her shoes are beautiful; that is a stunning shade of blue perfect for spring!

    • brown-eyed girl

Woo-hoo! Glad to see her in something that does her justice and that she appears to feel good in. Now . . . if we could just work on the hair.

    • MilaXX

      Well done Lizzie!

    • kim bunchalastnames

i’m … kinda glad i don’t see her standing up; i like it much better sitting down than i do on the model. and as much as i love the dress on her, i can’t with those shoes.

    • FibonacciSequins

Good for her, she looks adorable sitting there doing her interview.

    • Qitkat

Another cute graphic dress in the black, white, and grey range. Beautiful blue shoes. Hair by LA Windstorm Salon.
I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt that it started out more styled.
She and Jon Hamm sang The Time of my Life? I’d like to see that.

    • Dany

The model looks absolutely INSANE. I feel like she is going to demand me to be her slave.

    • eight_of_nine

I love the model’s body language. She’s no demure clothes hanger or wilting couture flower, she’s all “Come at me, bro.”

    • Qdahling

omg! This might be the best I’ve seen her look! super cute!

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

OMG OMG OMG…OMG! A bust dart and a pleated circle skirt! OMG! The thrill of it all…..

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

Great face, fantastic dress, perfect shoes. More of this, Moss!

    • Tee

      Super, super, super cute
      Do-dah, do-dah
      Super, super, super cute
      All the do-dah day . . .

    • semirose

I’m glad that Lizzy realizes that TARDIS blue pumps are the superior choice (I have a pair myself and they just work)

    • quiltrx

Okay, I’m completely in love with this dress. I’m a sucker for black/white, always, and it’s so graphic and has a cute shape. And the shoes are perfect!

    • DagnyReardon

IS there shortage of hair salons out there?

      • decormaven

Evidently, from all the non-hair we’ve seen in appearances of late. I could recreate that style with a quick shower and towel dry.

    • BluesD

Love her outfit. <3 She looks so happy, too.

    • gitchygitchymama

forget the dress; kimmels looking pretty delish these days.

    • unbornfawn

She looks fantastic except for that hair. Girl, get a new hairdresser. This isn’t the first time.

    • Robin Murray

Dang. In that second shot, her legs look like some kind of Platonic ideal of what chick legs are supposed to look like. Slow clap . . .

    • kmk05

GLORIOUS. The way the skirt fans behind her as she’s sitting is just right. Everything else is perfection. That last photo is too adorable for words.

    • decormaven

This is a good look for her and she deployed the pop of color shoe perfectly. Wish the bracelets were a bit stronger- not as bold as the graphics in the dress print, but more than thin chains.

    • Kelly

Wow — an Elisabeth Moss outfit I actually like. I probably would be less approving if I saw her standing, because I think flared short skirts on anyone over 20 are almost invariably infantilizing. But in this pics, everything works (except the hair).

    • KinoEye

This is the best she’s looked to me in ages. And it always helps when you’re radiating confidence, as she obviously is. Megawatt grins improve every look.

    • boweryboy

The pop of color is my favorite part of this look. The hair not so much.

    • SugarSnap108

She looks great, and she knows it. Love that dress.

    • kategs

      attagirl indeed. she looks marvelous.

    • czarina

I saw her do this interview and she looked super cute walking to the interview chair. She was great in her interview with Kimmel — when he said something about it being the last season of Mad Men, Elizabeth Moss said it was a lie since it is split into two seasons. She talked about being in a Kareoke bar in the San Fernando Valley with Jon Hamm and they sang The Time of Your LIfe (with lift) — she was hilarious but has a real potty mouth.

      • Carolyn

Shacking up with an Australian will do that to a girl ;)

    • siriuslover

I do love those shoes! I hope other starlets will see that you don’t have to go nude or matchy matchy to look good! And yeah, the hair is a bit off.

    • EEKstl

When I scrolled down and saw those shoes I literally did a little fist pump. Nailed it.

    • melanie0866

The hair looks like she left it wet after her shower and didn’t have time to comb it!

      • Mr. J.

Just my thought…..But boy, does she put it out there–happy!

    • AthenaJ

Don’t like the dress’ proportions on the model at all, it looks much better on a shorter woman.

    • malarson2

I love everything about it. Especially her smile and confidence.

    • Columbinia

It’s a good look for her — except the hair.

    • LadyVimes

This SO makes up for that horrific street style shot. Well done, lady.

    • andreawey

      Sassy!
