she’s the picture of no effort. also: too bridal.
Yep. Way too bridal. I would also say a colored belt would have helped this outfit out immensely.
girl no. why are you wearing someone else’s wedding dress.
Post-birth DGAF glow, yes? She looks happy and healthy, and that’s really what I like to see on the red carpet, more than anything else. (Because yeah, I don’t see anything kind to say about the dress itself. And her hair looks like she just came from a beach in Hawaii, which makes me long for Memorial Day already. Not that I’m going to Hawaii.)
No worries….it suppose to rain all weekend in Hawaii.
I live in Hawaii-it’s been raining on and off for 2 weeks now-we are all very stressed…;)
when you say rain in Hawaii, do you mean pouring rain? when I visited, it rain everyday, but it was like 30mins light rain and it dried out with in 5mins.
I lived there and there were weeks it rained all day long. Not the afternoon shower type.
that would give me the sads
No, it really poured sometimes all day which is quite unusual for this time on year! I’m on the Big Island. Usually we get a quick shower around 4 and then it sometimes rains at night in May but it’s been a lot heavier. We have California’s rain I think!
Her hair doesn’t look healthy… All hairs are already dead, but some are more dead than others?
She is at least 10 years too young for that matronly of a dress.
10 more years isn’t going to make that dress any less ugly
What she said.
Drew, who hurt you?
That ostrich’s expression in the poster behind her sums up my feelings on this dress.
“Her father can’t take her to the Purity Prom because he’s at a convention in Des Moines but I thought, what the heck, I’ll dress up and bring her!”
I love you for this.MWaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!
I liked her failed attempt at boho chic the other day better than this.
That dress is….not a good shape. Anywhere. ‘Nuf said. Her hair needs combing, but I like her lipstick and her smile.
I’m glad you said it. Although, a belt may have helped her out marginally.
Marginal being the operative word. I think it looks pretty bleh no matter what. That dropped hem with a big ‘ol sheer curtain attached makes both the ladies pictured look less than flattered. Design fail.
chaste wedding-night nighty. I will say she does have a beautiful after-birth glow.
Her complexion and makeup are lovely. I do wish that she’d chosen a different silhouette than this dress.
She is so pretty, but this dress is not.
Not good, girl. But she looks happy and I love the lipstick.
Where is our goofy, earthy, hippie Drew?
RIGHT! Rich bohemian hippie earth mother would be a great look for her to rock post-partum!
I like her face and hair, but this dress just doesn’t feel like her usual style and I don’t think the color is working for her.
It may be a bridal nightgown with beach hair, BUT I give her 100% credit for not conforming to Hollywood’s weird rules about post-pregnancy weight loss. She looks happy, healthy, and new-mom glow-y.
Agree. I don’t need another “I just gave birth” miraculous weight loss poster child. I don’t like the dress, but I’m okay with her looking like the average woman who gave birth barely a month ago.
Agreed. I’m focusing on her lovely face.
SO agree. Not everyone can be Gwen Stefani and back to a size two a month after giving birth. I love Drew and her “IDGAF — if I have to pole dance for this movie right after giving birth, I’m gonna be comfortable” attitude.
I don’t think anybody is disagreeing with her post-baby body and happy face, just that she could have picked a better dress.
I have NO quibble with her post-partum body. Power to her! But why cover it in a wedding dress in the remainder bin?
I’m all about her not rushing to lose weight (actually I think she’s setting a good example in that respect) but she could have gotten her hair done and worn a better dress.
Oh dear. I don’t think she should beat herself up to lose baby weight (or any other kind of weight, frankly), but one must dress the body one is in, and this doesn’t represent a successful effort. I think someone said “matronly,” and that is the death knell to any dress, no matter the age of the wearer. Drew by definition will never be matronly, so this is the wrong dress for her.
Sadly it doesn’t flatter her awesome post-pregnancy body which is healthy and REAL. She looks so happy, too.
I said elsewhere she looks tired, but yes, she also looks so very happy.
Had a baby four weeks ago. Gets a pass on everything right now.
I do like the color on her, though. I’m such a sucker for ballet pink.
YOU for sure get a pass.
Hiddy on the model and hiddy on Drew. This is the definition of nobody’s dress.
She’s so adorable — just not in that dress….but she probably hasn’t slept since the delivery.
That said, “Blended” sounds like a new thing from Starbucks
Hideous dress, but what shade of lipstick is that? Want.
Drew, I love you, but why are you wearing Miss Havisham’s wedding dress? Are you auditioning for the 1000th tv miniseries version?
That is not her dress. She looks soooo tired. Loving her makeup.
I love her and her fecund body, but that dress is not the way to go. Tadashi Shoji, really? Well, nobody’s perfect.
Also, postpartum is no excuse for unkempt, snarly hair.
it’s no excuse for unkempt, snarly hair IF YOU’RE A RICH AND FAMOUS MOVIE STAR LIKE DREW. (The rest of us? It’s TOTALLY an excuse!)
Yes, that’s what I meant. She has people to brush her hair while she feeds the baby.
Holy fucking awful.
Adam Sandler and his ostrich are expressing my thoughts quite well.
its very duvet and bedskirt.
Somehow this dress is both too matronly and too childish.
Grading her on the new mommy curve, so I think she looks passable and I don’t expect her to be turning it out.
I agree. I think if she did her hair and got a better bra, she’d look great. Also, this dress should not be in pink. Not a great color.
She’s been in the biz for mumble mumble years. Why hasn’t she learned how to dress herself?
She’s f***ing with us now, isn’t she? Good it get any worse?
why why why why why? and also, WHY?
I love Drew and she always seems so happy, her face looks really pretty but I think the dress looks too bridal.
Don’t care that she had a baby a month ago as she looks better than I did after mine, however that is the ugliest Tadashi Shoji I have ever seen. No No No!
Could Octavia wear it?
On the Tadashi Shoji site, this number is presented as a wedding dress. It is a wedding dress. It is an ugly wedding dress. GirlStars? Don’t wear wedding dresses on the red carpet.
Dang, I’m pretty sure I saw a near duplicate of this dress, available in three colors, in one of those plus size catalogs for around $119.
I’m pretty sure I sold this dress to a number of mothers of the bride or groom when I was a consultant at David’s Bridal.
Whoever let her out of the house in that should be shot.
Mother of the bride and awful hair.
I don’t care that she just had a baby. She can get her hair done if she’s going out, and she doesn’t have to wear ugly clothes just because she still has baby weight (like a real human being who eats and doesn’t work out nonstop to return to a size 0)
Go home and try again, Drew. You’re better than this.
Oh dear. The dress is unflattering altogether and what was she thinking with the ‘I’m letting my hair air-dry today’ look? Poor Drew. She looks haggard here– a totally preventable situation.
No words. I can’t…..ok…..REALLY BAD PROM DRESS. LITTLE CAP SLEEVES MAKE THE TOP OF YOUR ARMS LOOK HUGE. FORGET ABOUT YOUR TUMMY. THIS DRESS EXPOSES YOUR SIDE ROLLS. NO ONE WANTS SIDE ROLLS.
I understand she recently had a baby, but she could get her hair done and wear a more flattering dress. She has the motive and the means.
I wish she would do something with her hair. I think this every single time I see her.
Post partum fashion decision?
Drew, honey, you are one of my FAVORITES on the red carpet because you are ALWAYS such an individual…but this does nothing for you. It may be that flowy bohemian shape that you tend to, but it is SO BORING!
She looks pretty and happy, but it is no thanks to the awful hair and the hideous dress. Just think how beautiful she would look if those two problems were fixed.
Ugly bridal gown, Uglier hairstyle. There is not enough maternal glow in the world to make this look good
Beautiful new mommy, beautiful hair & makeup, UGLY dress.
She could have opted for some flowy boho maxi styled dress for the red carpet that would have gone with that hair and looked so much better. That dress is just horrendous.
I don’t like the dress, but I like Drew in it, if that makes any sense. I’m thrilled that she’s showing off her new-mommy bod, and not hiding it under layers of loose fabric.
She’s on my celebrity love list. I just think she’s amazing… so I can forgive a lot. Plus she just had a baby. But I don’t like this on her. Too mother-of-the-bride, the drop waist is very unflattering, and the length is messy. I will say however from the ribcage up she looks beautiful as always.
I love her also, and can forgive her quite a bit just in the name of quirkiness. But … this…. is…. awful.
This dress is doing her no favors. It is actively working against her. Her hair’s a bit of a mess. But ya know what?
This is the sexiest I’ve ever seen her. She’s never looked sexy to me. Here, she looks like rumpled bed sheets and good wine and hours of leisure time and . . . ahem. Well.
ETA: The irony being that if she’s raising her own kids and just using nannies for work & convenience (vs. as a substitute for parents), that’s exactly the kind of good times she isn’t going to have for months and months and months. Perhaps she and her husband are experienced enough parents to have mastered “quick and creative.”
Her face looks lovely. But the dropped waist is a special kind of awful and I think it’s time to retire that freaking hair.
Mother of the bride.
Oh, no. No to the dropped waist. No to the pale pink with that brassy hair color. Yes to her lovely face and the shade of that lipstick.
Oh no. Honey. Sweetie. You and Tadashi deserve better than this.
You just had a baby, you wear an empire waist & show off the rack
Baby pink all over is a really hard color for most women to pull off. And the silhouette isn’t doing her any favors. Up a size may have helped, but I really don’t think that shape is right for her at the moment.
That embroidery at the neckline is gorgeous.
It looks like she bought a wedding dress at a thrift store. A really acetate one. A rare misstep from Tadashi Shoji.
I had a baby 10 weeks ago. I am so impressed that Drew is even showing up for these things. Yay Drew!
New mommy can’t be bothered. And I can’t blame her. That dress is awful. The hair is more awful.
