Some finally aged cheese that looks great in a suit (no matter what goofy poses he’s forced into) and always takes a charming picture. We want to be Bryan Cranston if we ever grow up.

Squee! That second picture is TOTES ADORBS, as the youngin’s would say. I hope this Godzilla movie doesn’t suck, for his sake.

    • French_Swede

He looks terrific! Hal (Malcolm’s dad) would be proud.

    • Miss wks

If only a woman his age could get a cover with all those creases in her face….

      • BarniClaw

This x 1,000. Although can you imagine how weird Helen Mirren or Judi Dench or Susan Sarandon would look in that last pose?

        • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

Helen Mirren, definitely. Susan Sarandon, perhaps. Judi Dench, never. Although if she did, I would absolutely love to see it.

      • Gatto Nero

… and without everyone snarking about how old she looks.

      • Judih1

        My sentiments exactly!

    • PastryGoddess

humina humina, I have the tingles all over

    • mimi

      whew. mr. cranston, i’m ready

    • deathandthestrawberry

      He really is the best.

    • Jessica Freeman

      Loves.

    • Jacob Bowen

The first pose is a “REALLY GQ?!?!?”…and the second pose makes me giggle.

    • MilaXX

      LOVE him!

    • vahtel

Day-um, Bryan. I’ll come to poppa any damn day of the week.

    • formerlyAnon

You just can’t go wrong with a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

ETA: Boys, I’m not joking. Remember this.

      • melisaurus

This is my boyfriend’s go to not-hoodie option. I like him so much. :D

      • random_poster

That’s so true, and for the life of me I can’t figure out why.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Maggie Alderson, one of my favourite writers, has a line something like “rolled to just above the wrist it is surgeon about to perform emergency appendectomy, rolled to just above the wrist it is mechanic about to perform emergency knicker-ectomy in the back of his van”. So true. So very true.

    • lunchcoma

Love him. I hope the movie career works out for him, because I enjoy him in just about everything. He gives an interesting interview, too.

      • Qitkat

I haven’t read the GQ version, but last Sunday’s Parade magazine had an excellent one.

        • lunchcoma

Yes, that’s a great example of why I like him. So many celebrities who are described as “honest” or “upfront” are actually just assholes. Cranston manages to be sincere and occasionally blunt and still come off as a great guy. I mean, in the Parade interview, he talks about politics and admits to initially turning down the movie he’s currently promoting while still being likable.

    • KinoEye

I want to be Bryan, too. It’s so cool that he started acting later in life with a community theater, and now he’s covering GQ. I love this man, whether he’s dancing around in tighty whities on Malcolm in the Middle, being a drug kingpin in BB, or just looking great in a suit.

    • ccinnc

His head looks way too big on the cover, but I adore him and cant wait for Godzilla.

    • Tanya Wade

Mmmmm, papacita. That first shot on the stool. Yep. Mama like.

    • Lisalady161

And now for the aged beefcake section of sausage Friday. Thanks so much, TLo. This man makes my heart skip.

    • MartyBellerMask

      I has a happy now.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Last weekend I was flipping through the channels and found him in an old episode of Matlock (I think, or else it was Murder, She Wrote). I hardly recognized him, had to stop and watch a little just to make sure. He has aged well.

    • Julie Chase

He’s delicious. He would go well with my wine.

    • Danielle

This would be the perfect place for the Pennsatucky “hands to God” meme. YASSSS GURL.

    • Gatto Nero

Do you mean “finely aged”? :-]
His face looks wonderful. I wish women were allowed to age with the same dignity.

      • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

        I’m so with you.

    • The Versatile Chef

      ::sigh::

    • NBG

Can we talk about how much I like the well-worn shoes in the last photo?

    • lynnlee

      I love him so much.

    • malarson2

I love that cover – color selection, layout, and if course that great pic.

    • mjude

I saw him in person years ago & that man is so handsome. love these photos.

      • mshesterp

I have a friend who told me she thought he was ugly (when I was extolling his virtues after a BB marathon), and it took SO. MUCH. EFFORT. not to slap her. Cranston is dead sexy–you’d better recognize.

    • queeniethebold

      i hopelessly, helplessly heart him.

    • Qitkat

Fine cheese. Fine wine. Real life etched on that handsome face. Super fine talent.
Refreshing to look back at his acting path, to where he is today, all without the tabloid drama of those with mediocre talents, who always got more press.

    • MaggieMae

      Want.

    • Malia C.

He’ll always be Tim Whatley, the swinging dentist, to me.

      • Tuneful54

I’ll ALWAYS have a thing for Dr. Whatley (Bryan).

        • Malia C.

As well you should. He’s the original re-gifter! :)

          • Tuneful54

“The way you worked on my filling, you were so…so gentle and so caring, and so…sensitive.” “Oh, Tuneful!”

      • EEKstl

Yes! Who Jerry accused of converting to Judaism for the jokes! Classic.

        • Malia C.

My favorite Tim Whatley moment has to be in “The Jimmy,” when he holds the nitrous oxide mask to face and inhales before putting the mask on Jerry. Cranston completely improvised that move out of nowhere.

          Jerry: “Where’s Jennifer today?”

Whatley: “She’s over at Dr.Cessman’s office. We find it fun to swap now and then.”

    • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

I’ve got a bad daddy crush on that man.

    • Lori

Love him. This Sausage Friday has totally made up for last week’s. That first poise is a bit of an eyeroll, but I love that suit.

    • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

I’d love to see a female star photographed with all the lines in her face. Someday.

    • EEKstl

      Yum. Love. Him.

    • dschubba

      Would hit it.

    • AutumnInNY

      Stunner!

    • Man Dala

He looks sharp. But his head looks too big for his body in this photos. Not sure if it’s the angle or the fact that the clothes fit him tight (good fit though) and I’m not used to seeing him in this get up.

    • Therese Bohn

      <3

    • Mr. J.

      Oh yes. Yes.

    • Michelle Lim

I growled in reaction to the pics. Yes, it is that HOT!!
