Amanda Seyfried in New York City

Posted on May 14, 2014

We’re not even gonna pretend there’s much in the way of street style going on here, but we’ve been over-saturated with red carpets lately and we’re desperate for any pics of a celebrity where she’s not grinning and crossing her legs like she’s got to pee.

Stars. They’re just like us.

She’s not in the mood, so we’ll keep this brief and sweet: Love your flats, girl.

Cute, but it’s missing a cute dog.

      • PlethoraofBooks

Her dog is one of the most photogenic dogs I have ever seen. You are completely right

    • Latin Buddy

      Wow. The 90s ARE back

    • Danielle

Elastic pants, I am filled with glee.

      • demidaemon

And I am filled with despair.

      • Coleen

I want those pants in every color. This should give you some insight about my inner fug crying to be unleashed.

    • Alyssa

Do those pants have an elastic waistband? Please no! That should be for sweatpants only…which are not meant to be worn in public.

      • Jacqueline Wessel

Agreed, I wouldn’t leave the house looking like this.

        • kimmeister

Heck, I wouldn’t even buy those pants to lounge around my house.

      • Rhonda Shore

        she looks good in them.

    • International Model

      Mom corduroys?

    • quiltrx

Cute shoes, fun bag…and is she drinking salad dressing?
And I’m fine with the 90-ish looks coming back, that was my heyday. I can’t sign off on the elastic pants, but I’ll be praying for Grunge to come back!

      • Angela_the_Librarian

The scariest part of any 90’s fashion revival is now I know how my parents must have felt when the 70’s/60’s influenced fashions were around in the 90’s…slightly mortified, but also very nostalgic!

      • leahpapa

Harrumph. The return of the ’90s *would* happen now, when my eyebrows have finally grown back in…

        • melisaurus

Well really it’s the 90s + “power brows”

      • MilaXX

She’s probably got one of those green juice concoctions that coast $12 a pop at Whole Foods that you can make for $4 in your own home (provided you have a juicer).

        • semirose

This is why I love Mariano’s. You just buy the ingredients and they’ll juice it for you at their juice bar. Fresh juice, no juicer required (or no cleaning required because those things are such a pain to clean)

    • In_Stitches

Those pants need a tank top or a silky, simple blouse, definitely not a gingham button-down.

      • TM

Agreed about a different top. I feel like the complete minority here, but I like the pants! I wanted to know what I should Google search to find a similar pair. They’re casual but different enough and seem comfortable for warmer weather. What’s wrong with meeee?

    • Mothra

Even I don’t dress that badly and I work in enviro non profit so that’s really saying something. If she wants to go out in her jammies she should get better jammies.

    • sugarkane105

Those pants confuse and frighten me.

However, I know just what to do with that bag. Come to momma.

      • demidaemon

        Me too. Mostly frighten.

    • Jaimie

She was in Cosmos last week, so I love her more than ever.

    • MilaXX

Shoes are okay, but is that a Vera Bradley bag? I used to hate those things. They all looked like used comforters to me. However, I just discovered that actually make bags in solid colors and they have a travel backpack that looks pretty decent. I still dislike bags like one Amanda is carrying, but next major vacation checking out that back pack.

      • mjude

girl I hate to admit I own a vd bag only because the colors didn’t offend me. but I have seen solid ones & I like. also i am so in need of a good flat.

      • FibonacciSequins

Another poster (rbdtex )just ID’ed it as a $3K Givenchy bag, if you can believe it.

        • decormaven

Whoa! That is serious coin for a fabric bag.

      • 3boysful

Pssst–Mila: I have the backpack in the brown microfiber, and it is the bomb to travel with. Hands free for your carry-on or kiddos, lots of pockets to organize stuff but not bulky.

    • Ginger

That bag is some straight-up fug…like something my grandma might’ve used as a knitting bag in the 80’s.

    • rdbtex

      BAG = Givenchy $3K +; Just sayin’

      • kimmeister

    • Miss Ruth

I just clicked over from FB, only to be bitterly disappointed at no Finn. WHERE IS FINN?

    • Lori

Stars. They’re just like us. In the sense that they are sometimes seen wearing pants that shouldn’t have been allowed out of the house. Those are not good. The shoes are cute though.

    • Pablo

The fabric on the bag is from my aunt’s kitchen, YOU GIVE MY AUNT HER CURTAIN BACK.

    • Jacob Bowen

Amanda, thank you for validating my sweatpants wearing yesterday…forever I am grateful.

      • demidaemon

At least there isn’t photographic evidence! 😉

    • Noah

So apparently Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala gown from 2013 was “fashioned” into a bag?

      • Imasewsure

Don’t we wish it could have happened before Kim spied that monstrosity? Still someone has to populate the Worst Dressed List….

    • Funkykatt

      Worst shoes for plantar fasciitis.

    • msdamselfly

      Love this

    • Miss wks

Amanda, like George Costanza, has given up….

    • YoungSally

OMG she lives in the same building as Alec Baldwin. Even worse, I recognized the building by the trim around the door.

1985 pants! 1975 shirt! My mom’s book bag! Kinda works? Nah. I llike the shoes though.

    • ktr33

if she were just wearing some slim white or denim jeans, cropped up or rolled at the ankle, this would be perfectly cute for running errands, etc.

    • BrooklynBomber

Oversize bag: check. Cell phone: check.

    • GillianHolroyd

When you’re a size 0, you can make elastic waist pants work. Very cute look.

    • cocohall

That floral bag paired with the gingham shirt makes me think she is headed out for a weekend in Amish country and is hoping to blend in. That’s a whole lotta country casual for a girl who lives in NYC.

    • Melanie

If I were her, I wouldn’t give a shit what I had on either. Looks like she’s going to yoga and screw what anyone else thinks. She doesn’t have to work a pole right now and I bet that feels good.

    • Mary

These silky pants pretty are trendy in LA right now. If you go to an art opening or a more upscale hipster place you will see a lot of people wearing them and managing to make them look cute. Not with that top, though.

    • Maggie Smith

This reminds me of Edina looking at Saffie with despair and saying “Are those really the trousers I got you at Benetton?”

    • crash1212

Those are great sweats…anybody know who?

    • lilazander

Flats? Really? Are they that spectacular?
