Another outfit coordinated to go with the crappy logo. Where are we? Wisconsin? Looks like we’re advertising cheese or sausage and not the Friday kind.

      • zuzu

I thought it looked like the logo on a box from a nondescript pizza joint.

    • Danielle

The prude side of me thinks her dress is entirely too short.

      • SugarSnap108

The side of me that likes proportion objects to the hemline. With those sleeves and illusion of linebacker shoulders, the short skirt looks odd. And don’t get me started on those Ace bandage shoes.

        • VicD

Exactly. That was my first thought, “that poor girl looks like a linebacker in that (questionable) dress.”

        • Jaime

It’s not an illusion, Sophie does have amazingly broad shoulders – I’ve noticed this over the last couple of years. She has the build of an Olympic swimmer.

        • Danielle

Nailed it. You’re so right, it’s the shoulders. Let’s never speak of those shoes again.

        • demidaemon

There is certainly something going wrong with the design and fit of that dress. And he’s a fetus dressed up like a college professor.

    • http://www.beautifymylifeblog.com Jessica

Those sleeves make her look like a linebacker, and the shoes are tacky as hell. He looks cute, albeit somewhat like a teenager wearing his dad’s (very well tailored) clothes.

      • Jacob Bowen

DITTO. Those are some hooker Barbie shoes, and the dress proportions do nothing for her to balance out those linebacker shoulders.

      • Erica

Yeah, I can’t tell if she actually HAS broad shoulders, but as someone who does, this dress makes me shudder.

      • Clash D

Oh shoot, I should scroll down further before posting comments. I concur with everything y’all said.

    • http://www.beautifymylifeblog.com Jessica

Oh, and fix that tie clip.

    • Vaniljekjeks

I’d ship a Sansa/Jojen storyline. They look cute. Sophies dress is weird, but she’s so pretty I can’t stop staring at the face she’s giving.

      • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

So they DID finally bring in Jojen — and Meera too?? I cut out in early S2, so I’ve missed some developments.

        • Vaniljekjeks

They brought in Jojen and Meera in season 3.

          • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

            Yay!

    • @Biting Panda

That dress is a wee short and those are Elle Fanning’s shoes. He is adorable. I wonder if he still plays the drums?

      • Darren Nesbitt

I kind of like the model’s shoes.

    • KinoEye

The fellow has quite a name. Thomas Brodie Sangster. I’ve seen that kid everywhere, so it’s good to put a name to a face. I still laugh at whoever it was who decided to cast him as a young Paul McCartney. He looks nice here; love the jacket.
She looks smug and self-satisfied with whatever she’s done to be here, and though the tag tells me it’s a Katrantzo, this is fug in the grand tradition of Pilotto.

      • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

Pilotto and Kantrantzou go hand-in-hand in the grand tradition of fug. I will give Katrantzou some credit for what appears to be a bit of effort on her part in putting together her prints.

        • demidaemon

Of the two, she is no doubt the better (and generally more successful, design-wise) designer.

      • Christopher

isn’t he the child actor who played Liam Neeson’s son in “Love Actually”?

    • KingCrazy

Either she has really tiny feet, or those shoes are doing really weird things.

    • Beardslee

He’s always been such a cute boy and I love that jacket. Too bad about the misplaced tie clip. That dress is doing her no favors.

    • Capt. Renault

Come play with us, Danny, forever, and ever, and ever…

    • Whollyholeyholy

At first I thought the dress was both too short and too tight, but it looks horrendous on the twiggy model, too. It’s just an awful awful dress.

    • Hetha Innis

Love the color and pattern, just think the dress needs to lose the sleeves and add an inch to the hem. The shoes are worthy of a bonfire.

      • Hetha Innis

and he looks great, but the tie clip seems a bit too mature.

    • Janet B

That’s not her dress. The neck is too tight, the sleeves aren’t flattering, and it’s too short.
Love his jacket and shoes. I’m not sold on the shirt/tie combo.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

That is the Red Wedding of dresses.

      • ScarlettHarlot

        Too soon!

    • BlairBear

I am so glad that the outdoor furniture fabric found a second life on a dress. The good news is it is probably stain resistant the bad news is that it is not fug resistant

    • ScarlettHarlot

Hmm, he must be taller than I had thought, seeing him next to her. They both look appropriately awkward. At least, for what I presume their ages are. The sleeves and hair were a mistake for her, and he looks like he’s going for Ben Whishaw but it seems too mature for him.

    • formerlyAnon

The cut of her dress is not flattering.

They look like when your parents decide you should bring your 12th grade cousin to the sophomore dance because they just moved and she’s new to the school. (I know he’s the older but he looks younger, to me.) And, in his case, he just got new shoes for the spring band concert.

      • Beardslee

He’s OLDER than she is? Wow. Just more proof that girls mature faster than boys.

        • formerlyAnon

6 years older (24) if you believe the Internet.

          • demidaemon

WHAT? He doesn’t look a day over 16 (and that’s stretching it). I should probably understand this better, as I am still seen as much younger than my actual age.

    • Glam Dixie

His jacket and jeans are cute and fit him to perfection, her dress and shoes need to be burned in the fiery pits of hell for doing that to her figure.

    • your face

Hate to go all “Project Runway guest judge,” but this dress confuses me.

Is that a…chip clip coming out of the side of the dress? Or possibly a seatbelt buckle? Is it actually projecting out of the dress?

      • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

It’s part of a shoe which was the theme of the entire collection, and I think the clip thing is a digital print optical illusion.
In any case it’s Mary Kantrantzou and, like Peter Pilotto, you could cause yourself a brain aneurysm trying to wrap your head around the logic of their prints.

        • your face

Part of a shoe?!?! Wow, I would not have guessed that.

          • Sophie

Wow, now that I know… You can see it better on the model, where the two buckles give a more balanced feeling. Much would be improved if she just kept her hair behind her shoulders.

        • Clash D

So, the dress is a shoe – being a dress?

          • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

Lol, how Dada. Actually it’s a blown up digital print section of a shoe. If you look up the collection there are other dresses where the shoe print is more apparent.

    • Anna

Her: Everything about what she’s got going on scares me.

Him: “There’s this big concert at the end of term, and Joanna’s in it. And I thought, if I was in the band and played absolutely superbly, there’s a chance that she might actually fall in love with me. What do you think?” He will always be Sam from Love, Actually. His chemistry with Liam Neeson as his step dad in that movie was the absolute best.

      • Wendi126

        Your girls American?

      • KinoEye

Yes! I loved them together. Besides Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman, the best part of that movie. As discussed last week, I wish they’d let Liam play that divinely sweet, concerned yet flawed character type more often. Though I think that’s coming soon for him: most action heroes seem to hit a phase where the roles they’re offered kind of contradict/spoof the badass image. Like the later days of Ahnold. Or Robert DeNiro in the Meet the Parents franchise.

        • Anna

YES. LISTEN UP HOLLYWOOD: More “divinely sweet, concerned yet flawed” Liam Neeson, please!!!

    • In_Stitches

That dress isn’t the most flattering to her shape, but I can see why she went for it. The colors are lovely on her and the print is young and fun.

He is an adorable, tiny English professor.

      • demidaemon

        EXACTLY.

    • MilaXX

Thomas is looking pretty sharp, but Sophia looks like she’s wearing mall clothes. The shoe especially look like the wood and leather sandals I wore in high school 20+ years ago.

    • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

Awww…they’re adorable babies playing dress-up. What’s not to love?

    • jilly_d

      GTNYD. He looks adorably English.

    • Zippypie

Sophie was sampling too much of the product.

    • paginatrix

      She looks like his babysitter.

    • Kitten Mittons

      So much awkwardness, it’s palpable.

I can’t pick on these little ones. Enjoy your prom, you little whippersnappers.

    • BobStPaul

Nice to see a perfectly fitted jacket; unfortunately, he need a smaller neck size shirt.

    • Bozhi

She should have worn her hair up or back. She has beautiful hair, but having her hair hanging in front breaks up the pattern around the shoulders and distorts the garment.

      • Mazenderan

She has beautiful hair, but from other pics I’ve seen, it’s quite fine – which is why I think she has a tendency to pull it over her shoulders like that – to make it look like there’s more hair than there actually is.

    • another_laura

Let us never speak of those shoes. As for the rest, too short, too ugly on the dress. He looks nice but I’m over the too-high tie clips.

    • Jessica O’Connell

I feel like this dress is causing me to see some optical illusions. Suddenly her body looks massive when compared to her head… or is just me? She’s not a large girl. This dress really isn’t doing her any favors. Either that, or someone played an April Fools joke using photoshop.

    • Clash D

That dress is giving her linebacker shoulders and she looks like she’s ready to ride out for battle. Or Shopping. Whatevs.
The tie clip he’s sporting isn’t suitable for the skinny tie he’s wearing. I could lend him one of mine if he wants.

    • Eric Stott

Looks like the young man got a hot date for the grade school prom

      • Qitkat

I swear, I didn’t read your post before writing mine. Bitter Kittens unite!

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Thomas Brodie-Sangster – I looked at him and now the theme song from “To Sir With Love” is stuck on my head.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Could someone please tell me what the 2014 Jameson Empire Awards are?

      • Gloriana Reginata

Empire is the biggest (probably) film magazine in Britain. (Well worth the roughly $66 subscription from the US, if you’re into film in general and want more on European film-making than turns up in Entertainment Weekly. They range the gamut from geekboy to artfilm.) Jamieson is an alcohol brand that help sponsor the annual awards, which are all the sorts of things that tend to get awards: best film, best actor etc.

    • Qitkat

I don’t know these two, but I’ll give it my best shot.
HE: is going to the Eighth Grade “Prom” under duress … in 1957.
SHE: is so pissed she had to “go” with her younger brother, as her date fell through at the last moment, that she ditched her special dress, tore down the curtains from her bedroom, grabbed some ribbon from the craft box, and 15 minutes later, announced to their mom, ‘I’m ready to go now!’

      • demidaemon

Isn’t that the most fun, though, judging fresh meat? Totally agree with your observations.

    • Kirstin McAulay

Sansa is far too pretty to be forced into this hideous frock… he looks like a mini Prof

    • lunchcoma

That’s exactly the sort of dress and shoes combo I would have opted for in my late teens. Don’t worry, Sophie, in a couple years you’ll be over platform sandals and will learn you need either a lower neckline or longer sleeves for some balance.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

Thomas Brodie looks like he walked out of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters to go into town as drawn by Jack Kirby.

    • israel8491

Him: Nice jacket, ugly tie. I appreciate the tie clip but worry it takes it too close to bank executive. Are those blue jeans? For shame, young man. 7.5/10
Her: What an ugly, shapeless, unflattering dress. It completely obscures her and the pattern is hideous. The top makes her look very broad shouldered. Her hair is beautiful. Lip is too strong. 2/10
      Combined score: 4.75

    • nannypoo

This dress gives her enormous shoulders. It does the same thing for the model.

    • Julie Ree

FERB! I have a kid- I can’t help it. He is too cute.

    • SEPA_Q

Don’t have HBO, so “GoT” doesn’t help me with recognition. To me, it’s Liam Neeson’s step-son from “Love, Actually”! Looks just the same. He’s very golden-brown, isn’t he?

      • Heatherbelle

To me he is only Simon, the eldest son in “Nanny McPhee” with Colin Firth, Emma Thompson and Kelly McDonald – he was adorable in that and what a great cast!

      • MilaXX

What a baby face! He’s 23, who knew?

    • Lily

Runway shoes are much cuter. I hate shoes that give actresses a case of sausage feet. When you’ve got short little feet (as do I), get you in some pointy shoes, ladies!

    • crash1212

He’s a total WERQ – as close to perfect to my eye as possible. She’s only OK – cute dress, but accessorizing is crap – bad colors chosen and horrible shoes.

    • Constant Reader

That dress is For models Only. It does terrible things to anyone with anything approaching normal human proportions. What it’s doing to a pretty young woman with a lovely figure is criminal. I love his jacket-and-jeans combo (not as in love with the tie and shirt).

    • Laylalola

I kept thinking, Krispy Kreme has a red-carpet event?

      • lobsterlen

Come to think about it … a Krispy Kreme red-carpet event needs to happen!

    • somebody blonde

Sophie Turner’s dress is so fun, but her styling is so shitty. Bad accessories, bad hair. He looks great, but it’s crazy how baby-faced he is. She looks 5 years older than him when the opposite is true.

    • marlie

That dress looks awful on her. It makes her look like a linebacker. And her shoes are ugly. He looks… fine. Not very interesting, but fine.

    • quiltrx

The dress is fun in theory, but the directions the image is ‘pointing’ are going to make anyone look wide.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

That dress is astonishingly unflattering. She looks like she has a man standing behind her masquerading his arms and shoulders as hers à la the cover of Bossypants (or a Whose Line? sketch.) Not body snarking, just noting the power of a heinously proportioned dress to make a known beauty look awkward.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

How can a dress that is shaped like a tshirt do such horrible things to a woman’s shoulders?

    • theblondette

I don’t even care what they’re wearing. They are SO CUTE, awwwwww.

    • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

Is that the lad from Love Actually?
